The Art Of Summer Suiting With Infamous London Tailors Edward Sexton

Edward Sexton campaign shot by Jonathan Daniel Price Edward Sexton Discerning, dapper, and charismatic, Edward Sexton is the London tailoring house that's long been associated with the rock 'n' roll glamour, having dressed everyone from The Beatles , Mick Jagger (in the cream suit he wore to marry Bianca in St. Tropez), and Andy Warhol to David Hockney, and ladies including Twiggy and Naomi Campbell. Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger and his wife Bianca, shortly after their wedding ceremony in St Tropez. (Photo by) Getty Images Now, in time for dashing summer escapades, Dominic Sebag-Montefiore, Creative Director of Edward Sexton has shared his guide to summer tailoring. Start with the right cloth and you will look and feel great. If you are going to be wearing tailoring in the warmer weather fabric selection is key. Linen is dry and porous, so it keeps you feeling fresh, but has a tendency to crease, so best kept for more relaxed occasions, evenings out, holidays and events, but not so much in an air-conditioned boardroom. Linen will keep you cool, but it has no natural stretch, so if you go too fitted it can feel restrictive and uncomfortable. High twisted open weave wools are excellent; they are woven using twisted yarns of wool that are constantly trying to untwist, so they do not crease easily. This means you can create a lighter cloth that resists creasing. Having an open weave allows air to pass through. We work with some fantastic mills that have perfected this technique. But these clothes are great for the warm weather and travelling. Some of the high twist fabrics can be flowing and drapey and others can be firmer and hold their shape. A good tailor should be able to tell you which are which and what would work best for your figure and the style of garment you want. Edward Sexton campaign shot by Jonathan Daniel Price Edward Sexton In summer, you don't need to commit to a full three-piece suit or shorts and a linen shirt. There is a lot of room to play. Loose-fitting tailored trousers in a flowing fabric can be great dressed down. A light, unstructured suit worn with a t-shirt or linen shirt can be easy and elegant. A structured jacket can add a touch of formality to a pair of trousers and an open shirt, and makes a great layer if the temperature drops as the sun goes down. Feel Good, Look Good How you feel in your clothes has as much of an impact as the quality and fit on how you look and how well you function in them. This may be about how soft or rough the fabric is, it could also be a psychological association with the brand, it could be how well suited to the weather you are going to be in the clothes. It could be how the cut of the clothes make you stand. The right clothes will feel right. Don't think it see how clothes feel on. Edward Sexton campaign shot by Jonathan Daniel Price Edward Sexton Classics Are Classics For A Reason A good classic is, classic. This is not to be ignored or dismissed, but get it right and you will have an awesome piece for years, until you get bored of it, then put it away and wait 10 years (don't put on or lose weight) and you will fall in love with it again. Quality, construction and colour are imperative. Key classics for summer: white linen suit or just the trousers if the suit is too much; a navy high twist blazer can be worn with the white linen trousers for a riviera look. A navy mohair blend suit for when you want to look impeccable but not too heavy, dark chocolate brown linen suit, a real suit wearer's summer suit in Irish linen, of course. Get them right and you will feel and look a million dollars in them even when they are old and worn in. They will get character like a pair of indigo denim jeans. Meet Your Needs - Go Bespoke Whether you know them or not, get all of your needs from your clothing met. A good bespoke tailor will sit down with you and want to understand how you want to feel in your clothes, what context and climate you are going to wear them in and build garments that flawlessly flatter your physique and meet your needs, or tell you when they can't all be met. Get the expert consultation and then something handmade for you and your lifestyle. Edward Sexton campaign shot by Jonathan Daniel Price Edward Sexton See more on

In Custom, Extremely Cut-Out Jacquemus, Dua Lipa's Birthday Look Is Ibiza-Ready

Dua Lipa celebrated her 30th birthday in the most Dua Lipa way possible. Landing into Ibiza—her confirmed favorite island—with a pack of friends, the pop star dined in the celebrity fave beachside spot Jondal and danced the night away at DC10 nightclub. The look? An elevated take on White Island dressing, and totally Dua: a custom Jacquemus dress made of white sequins with extreme, side-caressing cut-outs. High neck at the front, the dress splits backless, with matching white sequin underwear exposed by the deep hip cut-outs. She wore several silver star earrings across her lobes, a stack of silver bracelets, and gold and silver cocktail rings alongside her solitaire diamond, chunky engagement ring. Lipa posted a series of snaps from her early birthday celebrations (her birthday is August 22) to Instagram, fooling around with her fiancé Callum Turner and posing with friends including Mustafa the Poet and GCDS creative director Giuliano Calza, as well as her sister Rina and mother Anesa. Plates of dressed oysters and devoured langoustines from the celebratory meal were also peppered throughout the IG carousel, and Lipa served up her own early birthday cake: a chunky chocolate and pistachio cake topped with cherries, raspberries, and summer berries. Turner turned his own hand at summer style, in an easy breezy blue and white stripe shirt, loose linen trousers, and sheer, square brown sunglasses. (He looks like he's managed to get over that awful sunburn too!). The couple confirmed their engagement with Dua Lipa's British Vogue cover story back in June.

Kristin Davis and Shawn Johnson Join the World's Cutest Rescue Dog Contest as Celebrity Judges

The celebrity animal lovers will help PEOPLE and the PEDIGREE® brand choose the winner of the canine competition The adorable rescue dogs of the world have some A-list celebrity fans. Kristin Davis and Shawn Johnson have joined the 2025 PEOPLE's World's Cutest Rescue Dog Contest Presented by the PEDIGREE® brand as celebrity judges. The And Just Like That... star and Olympic gold medalist's decision to join the annual canine competition comes right before the launch of the contest's voting phase. "So excited to be a judge for this year's contest! Animal adoption means so much to our family. We recently brought home our second golden retriever, Oakley, to join Nash, and now we can't imagine life without him!" Johnson shared about participating in the 2025 contest. On Aug. 14, the contest's ten furry finalists will be announced, and voting will begin. From Aug. 14 through Sept. 15, the general public can vote for the dog they think deserves the cutest crown once a day at The three pups with the most votes at the end of the voting period will move on to the judging round, where Davis, Johnson, editors for PEOPLE, and members of the PEDIGREE® brand will determine the grand prize winner. The precious pooch chosen by the judges will receive a PEOPLE feature —both in the magazine and on — a custom photo shoot, a year's supply of dog food from the PEDIGREE® brand, and a $1,000 donation to the pet rescue organization of the winner's choice. Last year, the cutest champ was Margot, a pit bull and American bulldog mix with different-colored eyes and a deep devotion to her owner. As lifelong animal enthusiasts, Davis and Johnson are ideal judges for the 2025 PEOPLE's World's Cutest Rescue Dog Contest Presented by the PEDIGREE® brand. In November 2024, Davis shared that she adopted a dog named Chewy from Muddy Paws Rescue in New York City. While some say Chewy is the fortunate one for landing a famous family, Davis insisted, "My kids and I are the lucky ones to have Chewy in our lives," at the time of the pup's adoption. "It is so important to adopt rescued animals. Through circumstances beyond their control, many are ending up in jeopardy of being euthanized. No matter where you live, there are pets in need of adoption and rescue organizations that need support," she shared in a statement to PEOPLE shortly after Chewy's adoption. The Sex and the City star is also a patron of The Orphans' Project at The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya. The Orphans' Project's mission is "rescuing orphan elephants, rhinos, and other species, raising them with specialist care, and reintegrating them into a protected wilderness," according to the organization's website. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Johnson is also a proud rescue dog parent. In March 2025, the former gymnast and her husband, Andrew East, adopted a 9-month-old golden retriever puppy named Oakley from Wags & Walks in Nashville. "We chose adoption because we knew our family wasn't complete — and we felt called to give a pup like Oakley a forever home. He's already filled our house with so much love, and the kids are OBSESSED. It truly feels like he was meant to be here," Johnson said in a statement to PEOPLE at the time.
