Motor trike accident leaves two in hospital

Police are trying to trace a group of bikers seen in the area shortly before a crash involving a car and a motor trike in southern Scotland.
The accident happened on the A710 Dumfries to Dalbeattie road, near New Abbey, at about 16:25 on Friday.
The riders of the trike - a 66-year-old man and 59-year-old woman - were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
The occupants of the other vehicle involved, a red Fiat 500, were not injured.

The road was shut for about 11 hours for accident investigation work.
PC Keith Mckinnell said: "Our inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I would appeal to any witnesses to please contact police.
"We are keen to speak to a large group of motorcyclists who were seen in the area shortly before the collision and may have information."
He also asked anyone with dash-cam footage from around the time of the accident to come forward.

Four people have been arrested following a violent incident in Knottingley. Police were called to Yew Tree Walk at about 18:50 BST on Friday, following reports of a dispute involving several males, one of whom was reported to have a bladed weapon. Officers said no injuries had been reported but a 24-year old man was arrested on suspicion of affray at the scene, with a 30-year old man arrested later, on suspicion of affray and possession with intent to supply drugs. West Yorkshire Police said a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were also later arrested on suspicion of affray. All four males remain in custody. Two arrested after man shot at from car

Two men have been arrested after a pedestrian was shot at from a car. Thames Valley Police said the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was targeted on Broad Street in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, at about 18:10 BST on Tuesday before a silver coloured VW Scirocco was driven from the scene. The car was later found burned out in Rickmansworth at about 22:00. The victim suffered injuries to his shoulder and was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening and he has since been discharged. A 31-year-old man from Chalfont St Gile has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, while a 37-year-old man from Chesham has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. Officers said that both men remain in police custody. Det Insp Phil Turner-Robson said: "I would again appeal for anyone in the area who saw or heard anything; if you have any footage from the area and haven't already spoken to the police, we would urge you to please come forward."
