Major motorway closed near London after crash involving two lorries
Traffic came to a standstill on the M4 westbound after two HGVs crashed on the busy motorway in Berkshire.
The carriageway is closed westbound between junctions J7 (Slough) and J8 (Maidenhead) after the smash at about 11am.
Emergency services are on the scene, National Highways said.
Access from the slip road from Slough at J7 onto the M4 is also blocked.
Traffic faces long delays in the area, with westbound queues building up towards the M25 and Heathrow.
Drivers took to social media to warn others to 'reroute if you can.'
One motorist said: 'Massive crash two lorries westbound on M4 passed junction 7. Road closed and will be for a while I would think. Fire engines there but not ambulances yet. Just saw as I'm heading towards Heathrow on the coach in the opposite direction. May want to re-route if you can.'

Major motorway closed after serious crash involving overturned lorry
A stretch of the M6 is closed after a lorry overturned, spilling oil on the carriageway in Staffordshire. The serious crash happened on the northbound carriageway between junctions J14 Stafford and J15 Stoke-on-Trent at about 10.30pm. Motorists were briefly trapped in the road closure while all emergency services responded before being released. The motorway has remained closed for nearly 12 hours after the HGV spilt oil, causing severe traffic delays in the area on approach. The lorry driver escaped the collision uninjured and no other vehicles were involved, the police confirmed.
