In business, the ability to ascertain the true value of assets, liabilities and overall enterprise valuation is paramount. Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) specializing in valuation services are here for that job—and to help you find the best of their best, Forbes will soon unveil its first-annual list of Top CPAs for Valuations.
The CPAs considered for this honor will be selected from a variety of backgrounds, specializations and geographic regions, from the profession's Big Four to self-owned firms. As with all Forbes lists, this recognition will be based on a rigorous, multi-stage process of editorial research and evaluation, and no fee or payment of any kind will be required for candidates to be considered or selected.
To produce this list, our review team will identify more than a thousand eligible candidates through interviews with industry insiders, outside nominations, editorial research, and an independent advisory board of expert CPAs who specialize in valuation services. To qualify for consideration, CPAs will be required to be licensed by their state and active in the public accounting profession.
As always, Forbes ' methodology and assessment process are designed through the editorial team's broad experience in CPA practice, coverage of accounting news and knowledge of leaders who are CPAs in valuation services. Candidates will be rated in ten weighted categories, including achievements, professional honors, influence on the profession, performance, thought leadership and community service. Although a CPA's lifetime achievements will be considered, emphasis will be placed on their most recent accomplishments. CPAs will be evaluated from every state in America, regardless of firm size. The final candidates will be vetted by a tenured board of advisors and practicing CPAs who perform evaluations.
The result will be a collection of elite CPAs who are leading the profession effectively and honorably in the realm of valuations—each of whom share a superb track record, impeccable integrity and ultimately, Forbes' recognition.

The Leesa Original excels in these features and also offers a medium feel that accommodates a variety of sleep styles—perfect for couples with different sleep preferences. The luxurious Leesa Sapira impressed our testers with its cushy feel, effective temperature regulation and motion absorption. Our testers also found the medium-firm model to be a nice Goldilocks fit for a variety of sleepers, including back, stomach and combination sleepers. All together, it's an excellent design that checks all of our boxes for a top-of-the-line hybrid mattress. If you're always kicking the covers off at night, you might be a hot sleeper. This Leesa design is a cooling version of the back-sleeper mattress we recommend above. It provides the same coil and foam system to help align and support your spine, while also prioritizing cooling features like a cooling cover and gel-infused foam to help with airflow. Sleepers who suffer from back pain should consider a firmer bed that offers ample support, like the Leesa Legend Hybrid. The mattress is composed of over 1,750 springs and multiple layers of foam to help reinforce your spinal alignment, provide extra edge support and keep you comfortable throughout the night. The Leesa Plus didn't make our official list for the best mattresses for heavy people, but it still earned a shoutout as a solid runner-up for side sleepers. Our testers appreciated the design's high-quality materials and slightly softer feel that comfortably supports dozing on your side. It can also bear up to 1,000 pounds (500 per side) to accommodate the needs of heavier sleepers.

Why Upstart Stock Is Plummeting Today

Key Points Upstart reported its Q2 results and actually beat Wall Street's sales and earnings targets. The lending specialist also raised its full-year revenue target, but the stock is still getting crushed today. Investors are worried about inflation headwinds and competitive risks, but those who are risk tolerant may want to take a close look at the stock. 10 stocks we like better than Upstart › The stock of Upstart Holdings (NASDAQ: UPST) is sinking today following the company's recent earnings report. The fintech specialist's share price was down 18.2% as of 3:05 p.m. ET on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 was up 0.7%, and the Nasdaq Composite was up 1.1%. Upstart released its second-quarter results after the market closed Tuesday and reported sales and earnings for the period that came in significantly ahead of Wall Street's targets. The company also raised its full-year sales outlook, but some cautious commentary from management spurred a big sell-off today. Upstart sinks despite strong Q2 results By most measures, Upstart delivered a strong earnings update with its second-quarter release. The company posted earnings per share of $0.15 on sales of $257 million, crushing the average analyst estimate's calls for a per-share loss of $0.10 on sales of $225.4 million. Loans originated through the company's artificial intelligence (AI) lending platform rose 159% year over year to reach nearly 372,600, and overall revenue was up roughly 101%. Even though the business posted an operating loss of $4.5 million in the period, performance from investments delivered an unexpected profit in the quarter. Management even raised its full-year revenue outlook in conjunction with the report, but the beat-and-raise quarter hasn't been enough to prevent big sell-offs. What's next for Upstart? The company said that inflation continues to be a significant risk factor, and said it was seeing more competitive activity in the business' key service niches. On the other hand, it actually raised its full-year sales performance target to approximately $1.055 billion -- up from its previous guidance for about $1.01 billion. With the stock seeing a big pullback despite a strong second quarter and encouraging performance outlook for the rest of the year, today's trading could present a worthwhile buying opportunity for risk-tolerant investors.
