Saif Ali Khan dropped a bomb on his family after he married fellow actor Amrita Singh in 1991 following their whirlwind romance. Even his mother Sharmila Tagore got to know after he'd tied the knot. There were rumours that the sudden nuptials caused ripples in Amrita's life too, as it caused panic on day 1 of the shoot of her 1992 romantic comedy Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.
Now, in a new interview, Aziz Mirza, director of that film, rubbished these rumours. ' Nahi, kuchh nahi hua (No, nothing happened). I don't think there was any panic. Saif used to come to set. Mashallah, he did very well in life, he was thrown out of a film, by I think, HS Rawail. He came to RK Studio and said, 'I've been fired from the film,' because he turned up late or something,' recalled Mirza.
In the interview with Radio Nasha, Mirza admitted that Saif has come a long way since then. 'He's a lovely chap. He's made his own career, he's excellent. He did a lot of good work in a lot of films,' said Mirza. The filmmaker made his directorial debut with Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, which starred Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla in the lead roles.
Meanwhile, Saif faced a couple of hurdles at the start of his acting career, despite being the son of veteran actor Sharmila Tagore. He was cast by Anand Mahendroo after his striking appearance in a TV commercial. He relocated from Delhi to Mumbai for the same, but the project got shelved. Saif then signed producer HS Rawail's son Rahul Rawail's film Bekhudi opposite Kajol. After completing the first shooting schedule, he was removed from the film because of lack of professionalism.
Saif finally got his breakthrough as the fourth male lead in Yash Chopra's 1993 directorial Parampara. He earned the Best Male Debut at the Filmfare Awards next year for Umesh Mehra's 1993 romantic film Aashik Awara, his first film as the solo lead. He followed it up with hits like Sameer Malkan's 1994 action comedy Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Milan Luthria's 1999 action thriller Kachche Dhaage, Sooraj Barjatya's 1999 family drama Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Kundan Shah's 2000 romance Kya Kehna.
Saif met his first wife Amrita Singh while filming Bekhudi. After tying the knot, they had two kids in Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, who both eventually became actors. Saif split up from Amrita in 2004, and married Kareena Kapoor in 2012. They're parents to two sons — Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan.

Sara Ali Khan's Metro In Dino Look Draws Comparisons To Saif Ali Khan's Humshakals Drag Avatar

Last Updated: Sara Ali Khan's Metro In Dino look draws funny comparisons to Saif Ali Khan's drag role in Humshakals. Fans say, "Saif's genes are too strong!" After her nostalgic onscreen reunion with ex-boyfriend Veer Pahariya in Sky Force, Sara Ali Khan is ready to shift gears with Metro In Dino—a romantic anthology that promises layered emotions, contemporary love stories, and a bold new look for Sara. In Anurag Basu's upcoming film, the actress appears opposite Aditya Roy Kapur in a never-seen-before avatar: short hair, full bangs, geek-chic glasses, and a soft, understated aesthetic that's a far cry from her usual glamorous screen presence. But while the chemistry between the lead pair has already made waves through the film's romantic tracks, it's Sara's transformation that has truly captured the internet's imagination. Initially, netizens were quick to compare her makeover to Kriti Sanon's look in Bhediya and Katrina Kaif's iconic fringe in Jagga Jasoos—compliments any actor would welcome. However, the comparisons didn't stop there. In an unexpected twist, some social media users started drawing parallels between Sara's new look and her father Saif Ali Khan—specifically his drag transformation in the 2014 comedy Humshakals. Fans and trolls alike have flooded Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) with reels, side-by-side collages, and cheeky commentary featuring Sara's look from Metro In Dino placed next to Saif's wig-and-makeup-clad avatar from Humshakals. The resemblance? Uncanny, if you ask the internet. One user joked, 'That's how almost all daughters look—dad versions but with frocks and makeup." Another quipped, '19-20 ka hi farq hai." Others couldn't get over the family resemblance, writing, 'Carbon copy," and 'Saif's genes are way too strong." A few fans even noted that Saif resembled Kareena Kapoor Khan more than Sara herself: 'Saif is looking more like Bebo!" one comment read. Another declared, 'Saif looks like a combo of Sara and Kareena!" It's worth noting that Humshakals, though panned by critics, featured a now-viral segment where Saif, Riteish Deshmukh, and Ram Kapoor dressed in women's clothing. In a throwback BTS video, Kareena had even called Saif's drag look 'beautiful." Despite the online banter, Sara's Metro In Dino character is being praised for breaking her on-screen mold. This is her first collaboration with filmmaker Anurag Basu, and the ensemble film also stars Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sensharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, and Saswata Chatterjee. Slated to release on July 4, Metro In Dino is poised to be a heartfelt slice-of-life drama with multiple storylines interwoven through a city's emotional chaos. Sara Ali Khan's Metro In Dino look reminds trolls of Saif Ali Khan in Humshakals: ‘Saif's genes are way too strong'

After romancing her ex-boyfriend Veer Pahariya onscreen in Sky Force, actor Sara Ali Khan is all set to return to theatres with Metro In Dino in a very different avatar. For the first time ever, Sara will be seen with short hair, a fringe and glasses in the Anurag Basu film, opposite Aditya Roy Kapur. While their chemistry is cute, as seen in the film's songs so far, it is Sara's new look which has become the talk of the town. Some have compared her hairstyle to Kriti Sanon's hairdo in Bhediya (2022) whereas others were reminded of Katrina Kaif's look in Jagga Jasoos (2017). But the most unexpected comparison is that to Saif Ali Khan in Humshakals (2014). A post shared by Sara Ali Khan (@saraalikhan95) Yes, you read that right. Being compared to Katrina Kaif's look in Jagga Jasoos and Kriti Sanon's hairstyle in Bhediya was definitely a compliment. But drawing parallels between Sara Ali Khan's Metro In Dino avatar and Saif Ali Khan dressed up as a woman in Humshakals seems quite unconventional. Trolls have made viral reels and collages featuring Sara's glimpses from the Anurag Basu film alongside Saif dressed as a woman for Humshakals. A post shared by Filmy Silmy (@filmysilmy_m5h) For the uninitiated, Saif along with his co-stars Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor had worn women's costumes and wigs for a few scenes in the Sajid Khan directorial. Interestingly, Saif's wife Kareena Kapoor Khan had described his look as 'beautiful' in a throwback behind-the-scenes video. A post shared by ghantaa (@ghantaa) Comparing Sara and Saif, a social media user joked, 'That's how almost all daughters look . Dad versions but with frocks n Makup,' whereas another comment read, '19 20 ka hi farq hai🤣.' An internet user pointed out, 'Saif's genes are way too strong,' whereas another wrote, 'Carbon copy 😂😂😂.' Meanwhile, some claimed that Saif looked like Bebo. One such comment read, 'Saif is looking more like kareena kapoor 😂😂,' whereas another wrote, 'Saif toh Kareena jaisi lag rha hai 😂.' Another netizen opined, 'Saif is looking like a combo of Sara and kareena 😂.' Also starring Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sensharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher and Saswata Chatterjee, Metro In Dino is set to release on July 4. What are your thoughts on Sara's new look?

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are undoubtedly one of Bollywood's most iconic couples, admired not just for their on-screen presence but also for their enduring real-life love story. Let's take a look at a throwback clip which will bring fans a sweet dose of nostalgia, as Saif fondly recalls the first time he ever laid eyes on Kareena, long before they became the power couple we know today. Curious, he asked someone who she was and was told, 'Yeh Kareena Kapoor hai, Karisma Kapoor ki chhoti behen.' Saif then shared his immediate impression: 'Mujhe laga ki bohot khoobsurat hai, aur tabse woh mujhe kaafi achhi lagi.'
