The Rock is Already Set to Star in another A24 Movie After The Smashing Machine
The Rock's image as a celebrity is pretty clear-cut, so it's pretty surprising that he would team-up with a Safdie brother for the biopic The Smashing Machine . Though some consider this an interesting fluke for Johnson's career, it looks like he's already signed up for another artsy movie with A24.
As per Discussing Film, the Rock will be starring in Breakthrough , a psychological thriller which will have him play a motivational guru who takes a young man under his wing as he uses 'morally questionable methods of manipulation'.
We don't know exactly what the film's theme is set to be, but some guess that the Rock is going to be playing some kind of 'Andrew Tate' character who is going to be a cautionary tale about the rise of misogyny and Hustle culture—especially how it also targets young men.
If anything, the Rock already kind of played a 'wealth-fluencer' character like that in HBO's Ballers , but it would make sense if he was cast as that kind of toxic masculine influencer because it does seem like a lot of those kinds of people are aspiring to be someone like Johnson.
After the several big-budget, family-friendly flops like Black Adam , some are thinking that Johnson is trying to pull a serious image reboot with The Smashing Machine . I'll admit, I am in the camp that thinks he's kind of washed up artistically, but he's very welcome to prove everyone wrong with this recent slate of projects.
Breakthrough has no release date yet, but The Smashing Machine comes to cinemas on Oct. 3.

The Legend of Zelda Movie Allegedly Eyeing Hunter Schaferor as Princess Zelda
It's been pitched before, but it looks like the studios could be taking it seriously this time. According to a rumor from @DanielRPK (via @screentime), Euphoria star Hunter Schafer is being eyed to play the role of Princess Zelda in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda movie directed by Wes Ball. So far, not other cast members have been rumored, but Schafer has been fancast for a while, seeing that she does fit the look of Princess Zelda very well, and it would be a huge move to have a central character in a major franchise played by a trans woman. Admittedly, Schafer has been public about not getting boxed into trans roles, and getting cast as Zelda may be the perfect part for her. We know she already looks the part, but we've yet to really watch her play someone like Zelda who is expected to exude poise and grace—then again, that depends on which kind of Zelda they're adapting. As expected, there are already a lot of transphobic comments coming out about Schafer landing the part, and hopefully Sony and Nintendo will be ready to protect Schafer should they move forward with the casting. As someone whose been a big fan of Schafer since Euphoria , I'm really up for the casting; and I hope she manages to land this role as well as the part of the next Mystique when Marvel Studios is ready to reboot X-Men . The Legend of Zelda movie is expected to hit theaters on March 26, 2027.

Vision Quest Casts Ultron's Wife Jocasta and Human Version of EDITH
We've barely gotten any updates on Disney+'s Vision Quest series, but we've been getting some new casting rumors about characters that will be appearing in the show–specifically other AI like Vision. Besides the return of James Spader as Ultron, Deadline has also reported that T'Nia Miller ( The Haunting of Bly Manor ) has been cast as Jocasta in the series. In the comics, Jocasta was a robot created by Ultron (just like Vision) with the intention to put Janet Van Dyne's (The Wasp) consciousness inside her and make her his robot wife. Apparently that backfires and Jocasta ends up being a force for good. With the changes in Ultron's origins in the MCU, it would be possible that Jocasta's origins will be different, but the leaked concept art for Doomsday did feature concept art for Jocasta who was also played by Michelle Pfeiffer (a.k.a. Janet from Quantumania ). Besides Miller, there is also a rumor going around that Emily Hampshire ( Schitt's Creek ) has also been cast in the series as the human version of EDITH—the AI that was gifted to Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far from Home . EDITH hasn't been explored or mentioned since that movie, but it would make sense for a show about Vision to delve into all the other AI characters in the MCU. I wouldn't be surprised if the original JARVIS showed up, or other AI like Tony Stark's Friday—the AI that helps him right after he lost JARVIS to Ultron. Vision Quest is expected to release on Disney+ sometime in 2026.

Keanu Reeves and Aziz Ansari Team Up in First Teaser for Good Fortune
Stand-up comedian Aziz Ansari had backed out of the spotlight ever since he almost got cancelled, and after a few years out of commission, he's coming back with his first movie which he stars and directs. Check out the first teaser for Good Fortune : Here's the logline: In GOOD FORTUNE, a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Aziz Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen). Besides Reeves, Ansari, and Rogen, the movie also stars Keke Palmer and Sandra Oh. If you've watched Master of None , you'll know that Ansari has a penchant for realistic drama, so Good Fortune is one of the first projects that he's helming which is more on the fantasy side. Though the story does sound like something we've seen before with the 'friendly ghost that helps people' trope, having Ansari at the helm means that he would have some kind of unique lens to it; which is already evident with how Reeves delivers all of his lines in the teaser. We should expect some kind of absurdist comedy, but I wouldn't be surprised if Good Fortune also had some very interesting, human , things to say —which is kind of what's great about Ansari's material; whether it be about romance or just life in general. I was personally a fan of Ansari when he backed out of the spotlight, and even when he slowed down I always thought what he was getting into was interesting (like learning new languages and ditching his smart phone). Hopefully Good Fortune has some of that new insight he's had since his Master of None days. Watch out for Good Fortune when it comes to cinemas on Oct. 17.
