Kempton Park resident shot during early morning home invasion
Kempton Express reports that, according to Kempton Park SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Dipuo Ditshego, police were called to the scene at around 05:30.
'Sergeant Bruce Madingana responded to the call. On his arrival, the victim had already been taken to hospital for medical treatment,' says Ditshego.
She explains that a male suspect broke through burglar bars to gain entry into the house.
The homeowner reportedly heard movement inside and used a torch to investigate.
He was shot in the lower body. His brother was in another room at the time.
A laptop and a cellphone were stolen during the incident.
'We currently do not have a description of the suspect,' Ditshego adds.
Police confirm that a case of attempted murder, among other charges, is under investigation.
SAPS is appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

10 Gauteng cops arrested for theft have been granted bail
Six metro and four Saps officers face theft charges for not recording cash and goods seized during a raid. Ten police officers who were arrested on theft charges in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, have been granted R1 500 bail each. Missing cash never logged as evidence Mjonondwane said the seized goods were allegedly placed in several refuse bags to be submitted as exhibits. 'However, the complainant claims that upon his arrival at the police station, only one refuse bag had been registered,' she said. 'Furthermore, the cash was neither returned nor recorded in the SAP13 register – the official register used for documenting exhibits seized during criminal investigations.' Man accused of killing woman after Facebook date abandons bail application
A 36-year-old man accused of killing a woman after meeting her on Facebook has abandoned his bail application after appearing at the Pretoria Magistrate's Court. Helder Isidro from Eersterust is accused of killing 30-year-old Loveness Magabe and has been charged with murder and defeating the ends justice. Lumka Mahanjana, the regional spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), revealed that the pair initially connected in a section of Facebook dedicated to sex work. Their interaction progressed to Whatsapp culminating in a meeting set for July 26, 2025, at a lodge in Eersterust "On the said date, it's alleged that the accused ordered an uber for the deceased to pick her up from her place of residence in Sunnyside and drop her off at their meeting place," said Mahanjana.
