McInnes comfortable with shouldering Bloom's expectations for Hearts
Brighton owner Bloom, who recently completed a deal to invest in the Jambos, stated ahead of Monday's Premiership opener against Aberdeen that he felt they could finish in the top two this term and that he would be 'very disappointed' if they had not won the title within the next 10 years.
McInnes, appointed in May, is relishing being the man charged with trying to deliver on Bloom's bold promises.
'I think when you hear it from certain people, people can maybe question it, but there's so much validation and confidence with what he says because he clearly has a track record,' he said on Thursday. 'He's very successful. He utterly believes every word he's saying.
'He's a very clever man and he's a very successful man as well. You want your owners and people that you work for at the club to have that ambition, and there's a clear ambition from everybody at Hearts, including Tony, to try and drive the whole thing forward here.
'We're all well aware that we're here to be successful – we're not wanting to mess about – and hopefully we can be.'
McInnes met Bloom for the first time on Tuesday, the morning after the English entrepreneur had attended their 2-0 victory over Aberdeen.
'It was enjoyable,' he said. 'He was getting a tour of the training ground really and seeing everything that's going on here with (sporting director) Graeme Jones, and part of that was obviously to pop in and see me and we had a good chat.
'We spent over an hour or so together before training and he was very engaging, just really positive and really encouraged by what he sees at the club, encouraged by the start we've had and encouraged by what the future could look like. It was nice to actually spend a bit of time with him.'
McInnes, who feels his squad is 'looking pretty strong at the minute', has allowed 20-year-old right-back Adam Forrester to join St Johnstone on a co-operation loan.
'Adam played 30-odd games for Hearts last season, and that's great going for him as a youngster,' said the manager. 'We couldn't guarantee that was going to be the case this time around, especially early on in the season, so we think it's important for any young player just to keep playing. But being a co-operation loan, we have got that flexibility to bring him back.'

Bangor 3 Cliftonville 1 There was just no hiding the smile on Bangor manager Lee Feeney's face after his team's win over Cliftonville on their return to Premiership football for the first time since 2009. Strikes from Kyle Owens, record goal scorer Ben Arthurs and substitute Michael Morgon had the Seasiders in dreamland at a packed Clandeboye Park. Although the Reds it the woodwork on two occasions – Odhran Casey was the unlucky player both times – it was the Seasiders who broke the deadlock four minutes from time. Ironically, it was Casey who gave away the free kick that led to the goal. He hauled down the towering Arthurs 20 yards from goal. When Reece Neale fired in a low free kick, goalkeeper Lewis Ridd managed to paw clear, but when the ball broke to Stephen McGuinness, he cleverly flashed the ball back across the box for Owens to convert. When Casey wrestled Arthurs to the ground, Neal fired in a 20-yard free kick that Lewis did well to shovel clear. But the rebound was recycled by new signing Stephen McGuinness, whose low cross was tapped home by the big defender at the back post. Cliftonville were level five minutes restart. Goalkeeper Gareth Deane, under pressure from Johnny Addis, totally misjudged Casey's deep cross from the left, leaving Curran with a simple tap in. At last, the Red Army had something to sing about. But instead of dropping their heads, Bangor again had the audacity to forge into the lead with 20 minutes left. It was O'Mahony who produced a delicious delivery from the right that was powered home by the head of that man Arthurs. And, the home team were out of sight two minutes from time. Substitute Liam Burns whipped in a great cross from the left that was glanced home by Morgan. Coleraine 1 Larne 0 Joel Cooper had a Coleraine debut to remember as he hit a priceless winner against Larne at The Showgrounds. When the game looked like ending in a stalemate, the new star on the Ballycastle Road lit up his new home by lashing home the only goal of the contest with four minutes remaining. Prior to that, both teams cancelled each other out with Matthew Shevlin rattling the post the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock. Larne, who return to European competition through the week, rarely troubled debutant Aidan Harris with Kobei Moore slicing wide from an inviting position. Linfield 3 Dungannon Swifts 0 A Kieran Offord hat-trick ensured champions Linfield opened the defence of their title in style. His clinical finishing secured the first points of the new term as they avoided any hangover from Thursday night's European loss. After a scoreless first half, Offord broke Dungannon Swifts' resistance from the spot. Two more followed to give the Blues a convincing win. For the watching David Healy, absent from the touchline due to a suspension, it was an encouraging start to the campaign. After a slow opening, his side clicked into gear in the second half, with Offord's treble taking just 22 minutes. Dungannon will reflect on a big chance late in the first half, but this was another forgettable trip to Windsor Park - their 19th defeat in their last 21 visits. For Linfield, though, it was a marker set down to the rest. Ahead of kick-off, the champions' flag was presented by NIFL's Steven Mills to Blues chairman Roy McGivern. However, all that was quickly put to one side as Linfield began their quest for title number 58. A scoreless first half was not short of competitive action, with four yellows flashed by referee Tony Clarke, including one to Swifts boss Rodney McAree. In terms of chances, Matthew Fitzpatrick went closest for Linfield in the 28th minute. Offord swung in a terrific cross but the forward failed to make contact, when any sort of touch seemed set to produce a goal. Fitzpatrick did have the ball in the net just before the break, but it was ruled out for offside. The Swifts were positive on the ball, seeking to test any weariness in the Linfield legs after their European trip. Early on Thomas Maguire had a penalty appeal rejected, while Sean McAllister twice worked goalkeeper Chris Johns. Their best chance fell to Andrew Mitchell in first half stoppage time. He met Mal Smith's cross, but headed wide from a great position. But Linfield stepped it up in the second half, and took the lead just four minutes after the restart. Danny Wallace caught Fitzpatrick in the area, the referee pointed to the spot and Offord stepped up, sending Dunne the wrong way with a cool finish. They went close again in the 58th minute when Sam Roscoe met Kyle McClean's corner, but James Knowles headed off the line. Then McClean played in Fitzpatrick, but Dunne made a fine block to parry his effort away. McAree responded with a quadruple change, seeking to inject life into Dungannon. But two goals in a minute killed any prospect of a comeback. The first came when the Swifts failed to clear their lines from a corner. Dundee Utd 2-3 Hearts: Stuart Findlay goal machine, Zander Clark culpable, Jambos top of SPFL Premiership
A pulsating encounter at Tannadice Park finished 3-2 to Hearts thanks to Stuart Findlay's dramatic stoppage-time header. The defender nodded two of his team's three goals as they remained joint-top of the Premiership after two matches. However, while Monday's 2-0 victory over Aberdeen was comfortable, Hearts were made to work until the dying seconds for three points on Tayside. They led 1-0 through Lawrence Shankland's penalty before conceding two first-half goals to United's Croatian winger Ivan Dolcek. Goalkeeper Zander Clark was culpable on both occasions, most notably the second, but centre-back Findlay bailed him out. After scoring a fine header to secure the draw, Findlay then followed up with a winner to underline the fact he is fast becoming a goal machine for the Edinburgh club with four goals in five games. Hearts forced United back throughout the first half and would have felt aggrieved being 2-1 down at the break. They responded positively with Findlay's equaliser and refused to accept a draw, believing they could force a winner. United were always a threat due to an imposing forward line of Zach Sapsford and Owen Stirton, who ruffled opponents on a few occasions during the afternoon. Dolcek was one of their best players on the day at left wing-back. This fixture was moved to Sunday following United's progress to the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round. The first leg of that tie took place in Vienna on Thursday as the Tayside club earned a creditable 2-2 draw. Hearts visited Tannadice ahead of the second leg looking to build on their solid opening Premiership win against Aberdeen. They arrived without injured Norwegian right-back Christian Borchgrevink, while the hosts were missing captain Ross Graham, plus new arrivals Isaac Pappoe and Dario Naamo. With 2,802 travelling fans added to a healthy home support in a 10,874 crowd, there was no lack of energy or noise inside Tannadice. The Hearts followers acclaimed Portuguese forward Caudio Braga during the early stages with their adapted version of Queen's 1984 hit 'Radio Ga Ga'. He would soon have a couple of attempts at goal. The first shot of note, though, arrived on 10 minutes when United's Vicko Sevelj dispatched a bouncing effort from 22 yards. The Hearts goalkeeper Zander Clark produced a good save low to his right. The visitors continued applying pressure and the sight of left wing-back Harry Milne executing a cheeky 'rabona' nutmeg on Miller Thomson brought further joy for those in the away end. Their team moved ahead minutes later. Iurie Iovu held Stuart Findlay back as Milne's corner dropped at United's back post, and referee David Dickinson pointed to the spot. Shankland's cool finish from 12 yards sent goalkeeper Yevheni Kucherenko the wrong way. Hearts' lead lasted less than two minutes. When Frankie Kent was penalised for fouling Stirton, Dolcek stepped up to angle a superb free-kick high into the top corner. Clark got a hand to the ball but could not stop the equaliser. When the hosts moved ahead four minutes before half-time, Clark again failed to stop the ball. This time, Dolcek took a throw-in and was untracked as he then galloped in behind the Hearts defence in the inside-left channel. Panutche Camara's quick through ball found the Croatian for a low drive which ricocheted off the keeper at his near post and bounced up into the net. Hearts had controlled much of the first half, attacking relentlessly down their left through Milne, Braga and Blair Spittal. United's doggedness and opportunism paid off as they led 2-1 into the second half. They tended to attack down the Hearts right in behind Forrest - the area where Dolcek sprinted into to score their second goal. Visiting head coach Derek McInnes replaced Forrest and Kent with Alexandros Kyziridis and Michael Steinwender during the break - switching from a 3-5-2 to a 4-4-2 formation - and saw his team draw level just before the hour mark. Milne's outswinging corner was met by Findlay's towering header, which soared high into the corner of Kucherenko's net. The defender's impact has been impressive since moving on loan to Tynecastle from Oxford United. His leveller created the potential for a dramatic ending in the Tayside sunshine, although Hearts seemed determined to make life more difficult for themselves with some erratic defending and poor distribution in their own third of the field during the second period. Teenage striker James Wilson replaced Braga late in the game as Hearts pursued a winner. In stoppage-time, substitute Sabah Kerjota's deflected effort forced Kucherenko into an important save low to his left. The Albanian delivered the resultant corner for Findlay to head goalwards, but Craig Sibbald cleared off his own goal line. Just as a draw seemed inevitable, Findlay intervened again in the 94th minute. Kyziridis whipped a corner towards the near post and the defender stooped for a diving, glancing header on the corner of the six-yard post. The ball flew through a collection of bodies to land in the net and maintain Hearts' 100 per cent record at the start of the new season. They now have six competitive wins from six matches under McInnes' management. The bedlam which erupted in the away end illustrated their supporters' delight. "He's come out, we've given him 15 minutes or so and then took him off but he's a top player. "He's only going to get fitter, stronger and better." It's not yet known what caused the sickness but the left-back is seemingly doing well. When asked what the problem was, Rodgers replied: "Not sure.
