Revealed: Jack Grealish makes heartwarming gesture to cancer-stricken dad as insiders tell how the England star has given THOUSANDS away in string of secret acts of charity

Daily Mail6 hours ago

Jack Grealish has reportedly donated £1,400 to a cancer-stricken father in his latest bout of generosity.
The Manchester City star was moved to give the money after coming across the dad's story on GoFundMe while on holiday in Greece.
And The Sun revealed how this was the latest in a spree of giveaways totalling at least tens of thousands of pounds over the last five years.
Earlier this year, the 29-year-old was reported to have pledged £1,000 towards a woman's funeral fees after she died unexpectedly.
Further donations from Grealish include £5,000 to a 20-year-old with cancer in 2023 and £5,000 to a deceased crash victim's family in 2021.
For the 2023 donation, Grealish gave money to young Birmingham City fan Dylan Lamb, who was battling blood cell cancer and needed £1million for a clinical trial of treatment in the United States.
The Sun claims he has given tens of thousands in personal donations over the last five years
Grealish was hailed as a 'class act' for making the top donation but unfortunately Lamb passed away a few weeks later.
In the same year, he gave £5,000 towards the funeral costs of a late Aston Villa season ticket holder.
Villa season ticket holder Shawn Francis, who was expecting his first child with his partner Danielle, was tragically found dead at the age of 29.
'He may be a world-class footballer and love designer clobber but Jack is no stranger to the hardships of life,' a source told The Sun.
'He's passionate about using his fortune to help others.
'GoFundMe is perfect as it goes direct to each case.
'He's also been vocal about supporting Hollie (his 21-year-old sister who has cerebral palsy).
'Growing up with her and seeing challenges she's faced helped open his eyes.'
He also spent a day with Team GB's Special Olympics team in 2023.
Grealish looks as if he is headed for the exit door at Manchester City after being left out of Pep Guardioila's 27-man squad for the Club World Cup.

Danny Boyle uses iPhones to revive '28 Days' zombie film franchise

LONDON, June 19 (Reuters) - More than two decades after the release of his zombie apocalyptic horror hit "28 Days Later", director Danny Boyle is returning to the franchise with a fresh set of eyes and a twist on a new technology. The original film was set against the background of a "rage virus" that destroyed Britain and forced residents into quarantine. It was followed by the sequel "28 Weeks Later", directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. Even more time has passed in "28 Years Later", which is released this week and reunites Boyle with the original film's writer, Alex Garland. Starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes and newcomer Alfie Williams, the movie follows a young boy's journey with his father from a closed-off community on an island to the mainland to kill his first zombie. His mother grapples with an illness which isolates her from the rest of her community and threatens to tear the family apart. "There'd be occasional screenings of ("28 Days Later") and ... it hadn't really dated," Boyle told Reuters at the world premiere of "28 Years Later" on Wednesday night. "More importantly, the people's reaction to it felt like they were watching something very present day ... And that led us to start thinking, should we introduce something else into this world?" One of the innovations was the camera setup. Boyle got in close to the action by sometimes using up to 20 iPhones at a time on special rigs. "Smartphones, they will now shoot at 4K resolution, which is cinema resolution. So you can use them," Boyle said. "They are incredibly light. You can go somewhere with a very light footprint and you can also build special rigs with them, which is what we did for some of the violent action in the movie." Taylor-Johnson said the technique gave the film a "visceral and immersive" texture. "It would make me feel a bit vulnerable at times because it's very invasive." "28 Years Later" will also be first of a new trilogy of movies, with the second - "28 Years Later: The Bone Temple" - due in January.

Watch the moment Love Island villa reaches boiling point as huge row kicks off – and couple sneak off to the Hideaway

LOVE Island erupts into chaos tonight as a huge row kicks off after two Islanders sneak off to the Hideaway and secrets come to light. On tonight's show, Harry and Yasmin struggle to fight their attraction to one another, with Harry telling her that he fancies her. 5 5 5 Yasmin tells Harry: "I'm just sort of waiting for you to shut up the f*** up and kiss me." Harry admits to her: "I'm one of the few people open to getting to know new people, and actually doing it." Yasmin replies: "I feel like you have to be bold in here. I like someone who's a bit of a risk-taker and isn't afraid." Harry says: "Yeah, you're making me want to take some risks right now." They pair then sneak off to the Hideaway, which leaves Helena, who is currently coupled up with Harry, reeling. She says to the group: "They're kissing in there." Harry then rejoins them after and says he and Yasmin "only had a chat". Helena then asks him directly if he kissed Yasmin, to which he denies, but a sceptical Helena still brands him a "liar". Later that evening, the Islanders gather for another game at the Firepit - where they must each take a card, read the quote that's written on it and then collectively decide which of their fellow Islanders said it. With things already tense between Shakira and Ben, things go from bad to worse when their quotes about each other are read out to the group. Love Island star turns on girl he's coupled up with after she snogs another Islander Shea reads: 'I don't know if the conversation is stimulating for my brain, I'm quite a smart girl.' After it's confirmed it was Shakira discussing Ben, Shakira says: 'I wanted to chat to you about that tonight.' Ben replies: 'Well, it's an open discussion!' When Shakira explains her thinking, Ben doesn't agree. Later, his own quote about Shakira is read out by Yasmin, which states: 'I don't know where she's at, I don't know if she's a respectful girl, I feel like she's a very flirty girl that didn't know her boundaries.' Shakira tells Ben: 'Pipe down.' The focus is then firmly on Dejon and Harry as their quotes are read out to the group, with the Islanders becoming more shocked as their secrets come to light. Conor reads out a comment from Dejon that ruffles Meg's feathers. Dejon previously told the boys about Yasmin: "She's never orgasmed, so if I give her her first orgasm, then she'll fall in love." After Conor read out the comment, Yasmin says to the group: "I mean, if you can make me orgasm, fair play. I probably will fall in love." Things go from bad to worse when Remell reads out a remark that Harry made to the boys about wanting to kiss Yasmin. Helena yells: "What the f*** is going on here?" Megan exclaims: "He tells you f*** all and that's why, you need to find out and hear it for yourself." Harry is then grilled by Helena and Meg over whether he was lying about not kissing Yasmin earlier in the Hideaway. With the spotlight on him, will Harry tell the truth? 5
