Ex-Steelers WR George Pickens goes viral after claiming he forced trade out of Pittsburgh
George Pickens isn't taking criticism from Steelers fans lying down — as he recently took to social media to clear up who was really responsible for his trade to the Dallas Cowboys.
In a now-deleted tweet, Pickens claimed that he forced his trade out of Pittsburgh — contradicting previous reports that Steelers HC Mike Tomlin made the call:
'I forced [the trade] buddy. [The Steelers] were gladly keeping me. Have a nice day and a blessed one my guy.'
Reports had been circulating that the disgruntled wide receiver wanted to remain a Pittsburgh Steeler — which makes this new take difficult to believe, even if it's from Pickens himself.
If he truly did force his way out of Pittsburgh, it would explain why the Cowboys gave up only a third-round pick, as the Steelers would've lost all leverage.

No hot water, no electricity, and delayed wages: Former Feyenoord striker laments situation at Boavista

Former Feyenoord striker Robert Bozeník has been critical of his current employer, Boavista. The Portuguese club are in financial trouble and were relegated to the second tier this season. The ex-Rotterdammer still has a contract with the club, but assumes that he will leave this summer. While it wasn't a season to write home about for Bozeník after he scored five goals in 34 matches, he continues to feature with Slovakia for the friendly matches against Greece and Israel. He defended himself to Slovak media regarding his 'lesser' season. Advertisement 'I understand that people who do not follow football closely or do not know the details have that image. But the circumstances were not exactly nice either. If there is no hot water at the club, no electricity, and your wages are two months behind, then that inevitably has consequences on the pitch. Nevertheless, I have always done my best, and now I am closing this chapter in my life. I hope for more certainty in the future.' With that, the 25-year-old Bozeník, despite his contract until mid-2026, has seemingly announced his intent to leave. GBeNeFN | Max Bradfield

Steelers bringing in FA wide receiver Gabe Davis for visit

Steelers bringing in FA wide receiver Gabe Davis for visit Just after the 2025 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys. Now, the Steelers might finally be taking his replacement seriously. According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, the Steelers are bringing in free-agent wide receiver Gabe Davis for a visit on Thursday. Davis' career was on the rise after four seasons with the Buffalo Bills and he parlayed that into a huge free-agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. But it was clear from the beginning that Davis wasn't a great fit with the Jags and saw a big dip in production. Jacksonville decided to move on from Davis and instead selected former Colorado wide receiver Travis Hunter to pair up with Brian Thomas Jr. It makes sense that the Steelers would be interested in Davis. He not only provides elite size and speed but also comes as a bargain. Jacksonville is on the hook for $11.5 million of Davis' salary this season, so Pittsburgh wouldn't have to spend a fortune to get a player to compete with Robert Woods to be the Steelers No. 2 wide receiver. Steelers fans irked over players' appearance at Trump speech receive letter from org

The Pittsburgh Steelers sent a letter to fans who took issue with players showing up to President Donald Trump's speech at the U.S. Steel plant in Pennsylvania on Friday. Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph, safety Miles Killebrew and former running back Rocky Bleier, who won four Super Bowls in Pittsburgh in the 1970s, took the stage and presented the president with a custom No. 47 jersey. Fans appeared to be upset with their appearance and let the Steelers organization know about it. The team noted in the letter that the views of the players do not necessarily reflect the views of the franchise. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette first reported the letter. "We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. As valued fans, your voice is an essential part of what makes our Steelers community and fan base so strong," the letter reportedly read. "We understand that a recent rally in Pittsburgh has generated a range of reactions from our fan base. Our alumni and current players make their own individual decisions that reflect their views, and they do not necessarily represent the view of the entire Pittsburgh Steelers organization. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We appreciate your passion and your continued support of the team." A Stelelers spokesperson confirmed the organization responded to those who were upset. Trump introduced each of the three players, praising Rudolph as a potential franchise quarterback for the Steelers. "I happen to think a really good quarterback is a man named Mason Rudolph," Trump said. "I think he's going to get a big shot. He's tall. He's handsome. He's got a great arm. And I have a feeling he's gonna be the guy." Trump also complimented Killebrew, calling the safety a "killer." Former Steelers stars Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell each stumped for Trump during his presidential campaign last October. The two appeared at a rally before heading to a Steelers game.
