The court heard David Adair also told his former partner 'tonight you are done, you are done, I'm going to burn everything you own, including you - I'm going to melt you like a candle you dirty b******.'
An alleged domestic abuser told his ex he was going to burn her out and 'melt you like a candle,' a court heard today.
Ballymena Magistrates Court also heard how David Adair also told his former partner 'tonight you are done, you are done, I'm going to burn everything you own, including you - I'm going to melt you like a candle you dirty b******.'

Giving evidence to the court Const. Duffy said police were opposing bail due to the risk of further offences, concerns that Adair is hard to locate and would not adhere to bail conditions.
The court heard that according to the police case, Adair and his ex-girlfriend had an argument on 16 March whereby he allegedly 'pushed her to the chest with both hands' and although she left straight away, he followed her.
She went to her business premises nearby but Adair is alleged to have followed her in, toppling over a table and damaging several items which had been on it before grabbing her mobile phone and 'smashing it on the ground.'
He allegedly stole the wrecked mobile as he left and the court heard that 'police have been actively looking for him since that date.'
On Thursday Adair's ex was at the rear of her business premises when the defendant allegedly shouted at her 'take this as a threat - I'm going to kill you' and it was Thursday evening when she received the threatening voice messages.
Although she has declined to make a statement the recordings have been obtained by police where Adair allegedly declared: 'Tonight you are done, you are done, I'm going to burn everything you own, including you - I'm going to melt you like a candle you dirty b******.
'You are f***** now; I'm going to end you now you dirty stinking unwashed b******! I'm going to end you tonight.'
Adair left a further message claiming he was going to kill himself and he was arrested at his home on Friday after cops forced entry.
The prosecuting lawyer said that in the mean time there had also been allegations from Adair's ex-wife that he had breached the NMO she has in place.
She told police Adair had sent her text and WhatsApp messages which 'made her feel distressed and annoyed.'
During cross examination the constable agreed with defence solicitor Adrian Harvey that in an earlier case, Adair had been on bail for almost 18 months 'and he did not breach it once.'
The officer said however 'I was going more on the NMOs - if he is going to breach an NMO I do not believe that he will adhere to bail conditions.'
The solicitor also put to him that there was no foundation to his claims that Adair is hard to find given the fact that he was arrested at home and in separate proceedings, 'officers contact me, I contact the defendant and arrangements are made for an interview.'
Although Mr Harvey contended that bail could be granted with conditions such as a curfew, no alcohol and no mobile phone, District Judge Peter King put to the solicitor 'how do I grant somebody bail who has left a message saying 'tonight you are done, I'm going to burn you out, I'm going to melt you like a candle?''
'In the context of those messages how can any court consider that he poses anything other than a threat,' he told the lawyer adding that while he had 'absolutely no doubt' Adair had kept to bail conditions previously, 'how on earth can I grant bail to someone who has threatened to melt his former partner like a candle?'
Refusing bail and remanding Adair into custody until 2 June, Judge King said there was 'no way I can stand over a release to someone who is threatening violence in the most graphic of terms….those threats have made my blood run cold.'

Man fined after his four unmuzzled lurcher dogs mauled cat to death
The court heard that while 'two or three of the dogs were pulling at the cat,' a good Samaritan intervened and managed to take the stricken animal from them Darren Prenter failed to attend Belfast Magistrates Court today as a prosecuting lawyer outlined how his pack of four lurchers attacked a cat in an entry between the Alliance Road and Ballysillan Playing Fields on September 9, last year. District Judge George Conner proceeded to hear the case in the defendant's absence after hearing that the 28-year-old had been written to on multiple occasions. The court heard that while 'two or three of the dogs were pulling at the cat,' a good Samaritan intervened and managed to take the stricken animal from them. However, the prosecutor said 'the cat passed away in this person's arms a short time later.' Prenter, from Velsheda Court, was interviewed under caution about the incident and admitted he had been walking his four lurcher-type dogs without a muzzle but said he 'did not know' it was against the law. The lawyer explained to Judge Conner that under section one of the Control of Greyhounds Act (Northern Ireland) 1950, it is an offence to walk more than two greyhounds or lurchers without them being muzzled. Darren Prenter Prenter was convicted on each of the six offences including: • Having four lurcher-type dogs which 'attacked and fatally injured another animal' at an entry between Alliance Road and Ballysillan Playing Fields; • Being in charge of more than two lurcher-type dogs at Alliance Road/Ballysillan Playing Fields and; • Being in charge of four lurcher-type dogs which were off-lead and not muzzled at Alliance Road/Ballysillan Fields. In total, Judge Conner imposed fines amounting to £1,000 as well as a £25 offender levy. Prenter was also ordered to pay £144 costs. This is not the first time that Prenter has been charged with having dogs which attacked another animal. At the time his lurchers set upon the cat, Prenter was subject to a two-month prison sentence, suspended for three years, after he admitted aggravated trespass on Glenwherry Moor. In December 2023, Ballymena Magistrates Court heard how the moor's gamekeeper alerted the police to suspected hare coursing and shortly after police arrived, Prenter and two other men, Patrick Robert Shannon (52) and Patrick McGourty (29) came walking across fields with 'three lurcher dogs and a springer spaniel.' 'Police spoke to them and they said they had been out walking their dogs,' said the lawyer, adding that a search of the car revealed two dead hares behind the passenger seat. The trio were given a formal police caution and claimed they were 'looking for rabbits and foxes…and that the hares were found by the roadside.' Darren Prenter The News in 90 Seconds - Tuesday, 6th of May The court heard, however, that it was likely the two dead hares had been coursed as 'there were puncture wounds' but the defence argued there was no evidence they had been killed on Glenwherry Moor. Shannon, from Annesley Street, McGourty who is from Cranbrook Court, and Prenter each admitted aggravated trespass on Glenwherry Moor and all three were handed suspended prison sentences. In passing the sentence, Judge Martina Connolly KC described hare coursing as 'disgusting and despicable.' She warned that hare coursing is essentially a 'day out of planned cruelty' and is 'a blight, literally, on the landscape as it involves horrific cruelty on animals…cruelty of any animal is something that the courts will not tolerate.'

Supermarket sex pest handed fresh jail sentence for assaulting ex outside court
Creep changes plea to guilty at the last minute Gary Minford attacked victim Elaine Wilson as she sat in her car outside a courthouse A sex pest who assaulted his former partner outside a courthouse has been handed a two-month sentence. Gary Minford was due to contest the allegation, but defence counsel Grant Powles told Ballymena Magistrates Court the 39-year-old was instead admitting his guilt. Minford attacked victim Elaine Wilson as she sat in her car outside the courthouse on February 4. As the mum-of-four recorded him on her phone, he ran to the vehicle, shouting obscenities. Gary Minford attacked victim Elaine Wilson as she sat in her car outside a courthouse Today's News in 90 Seconds - May 3rd Minford said he was pleading guilty because he may have made contact with her hand while trying to grab the phone. With his client already serving a sentence for a previous incident, Mr Powles asked that the new sentence be allowed to run concurrently. District Judge Natasha Fitzsimmons agreed, sentenced Minford to two years in prison and handed him a one-year restraining order. She said while the assault 'may not be as serious as other assaults that come before the court, it is aggravated by domestic abuse'. What the court did not hear was that on the day of the incident, Wilson (37) had been acquitted of assault. But in another case last month she was handed a six month-prison sentence, suspended for three years, and a three-year restraining order for actual bodily harm and using threatening behaviour. The victim was in her home when she dragged her downstairs and struck her to the head with a pint glass. Earlier this month, Minford, from Bush Park in Antrim, was handed a four month sentence for sexually assaulting a supermarket worker.
