Snooker game turns ugly as Kuantan man attacked with bottle
The 51-year-old victim was reportedly involved in a brawl with a group of men during the 10.30pm incident.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu said a video showing the victim being assaulted by five men has gone viral.
"Investigations showed that the victim got into an altercation with the men while playing snooker, which led to a misunderstanding and a fight.
"He is believed to have been attacked with a bottle.
"The victim lodged a police report on May 26. Police are currently tracking down the suspects involved in the incident," he said in a statement today.
Wan Mohd Zahari added that the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon.

Lorry driver pleads not guilty to attempted murder of policeman in KL
KUALA LUMPUR: A lorry driver has pleaded not guilty to attempting to kill a policeman by running him over with a four-wheel drive vehicle. Healer duped into losing RM180,000 to Bitcoin scam
MUAR: A traditional healer claimed to have lost RM180,066 of his savings after being hoodwinked into joining a fake investment scheme. Muar OCPD Asst Comm Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the victim was contacted by a woman via WhatsApp, who introduced the Bitcoin investment scheme to him. 'The 49-year-old victim was attracted to the high 20% to 40% profits promised by the woman '' he said in a statement. ACP Raiz Mukhliz said the victim was then directed to register on the website, after which he contacted a customer service officer to start investing. He said the victim made five transactions to two accounts of different banks from Aug 8 to Aug 12, with a total loss of RM180,066. 'The victim was informed that he had made RM391,997.24 profits and was instructed to make additional payments if he wanted to withdraw the profits,'' added ACP Raiz Mukhliz. He said by then, it was too late, and the victim realised that he had been cheated. The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code deals with the offence of cheating and dishonestly inducing the delivery of property. The offence carries a jail term of not less than one year and not more than 10 years, with whipping and a possible fine.
