Meghalaya honeymoon murder: Accused Raj Kushwaha confesses to crime, says Sonam Raghuwanshi stood there and watched him being killed
In a shocking development, the Indore Crime Branch has said that four men accused of murdering local businessman Raja Raghuvanshi have admitted to the crime. According to ACP Poonam Chand Yadav, the men confessed during questioning and revealed chilling details about the incident. Speaking to India Today TV , ACP Yadav shared that Raja's wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, was reportedly present at the time of the murder and didn't intervene. 'She stood there and watched everything,' he said.
The crime took place in a remote area where Raja was attacked by the group. Vishal Thakur, also known as Vicky, was the first to strike, as per the confession. The group then dumped Raja's body into a deep gorge. 'All four accused have confessed to killing Raja Raghuvanshi,' Yadav said. 'The first blow was struck by Vishal alias Vicky Thakur.'
After the murder, three of the accused, named Vishal, Akash, and Anand, fled Indore by train. They kept switching trains to avoid getting caught and eventually made their way to Meghalaya. They first stopped in Guwahati before heading to Shillong.
Meanwhile, Raj Kushwaha, who is believed to be in a relationship with Sonam, stayed in Indore. Police allege that he helped fund the escape by giving each of the three men around Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 50,000 for travel expenses.
The accused told investigators that Sonam was present at the murder scene. However, what's still uncertain is where she went afterward. ACP Yadav said it's not yet clear whether she returned to Indore or stayed back in Meghalaya. That part of the investigation is ongoing with help from local police there. About the murder
Raja Raghuvanshi, a businessman from Indore, had married Sonam on May 10. Barely a few days into their married life, the couple travelled to Shillong for their honeymoon. On May 21, they rented a scooter to explore the popular Sohra region, but they went missing the very next day.
Tragedy struck on June 2 when Raja's body was discovered in a deep gorge near Cherrapunji. It was badly decomposed and had multiple stab wounds, including two fatal blows to the head.
The investigation took a shocking turn on June 9 when Sonam suddenly surrendered at a roadside eatery (dhaba) in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur district. Since then, questions have swirled around her role in the crime. While her father insists she is being framed and claims the police are 'making up stories,' the accused in the case have reportedly confessed to her being present at the scene when Raja was killed.
According to the police, Sonam was frequently in touch with Raj Kushwaha, who is believed to be her lover and co-conspirator.
Despite these claims, the families of the accused, especially Raj Kushwaha's, have stood by them. Raj's mother broke down in front of the media, saying, 'My son is innocent. He always helped people. He didn't even know Sonam.' His sister also insisted he was working at the time and could not have been involved.
Sonam's father has gone a step further, accusing the Meghalaya Police of twisting facts and demanded that the case be handed over to the CBI for a fair investigation. The case continues to unfold, with more twists expected as officials dig deeper into the alleged conspiracy.

Maharashtra: Wife kills husband with axe 3 weeks after marriage
Sangli: Just days after the gruesome Raja Raghuvanshi murder case sent shockwaves across the country, another chilling crime involving a newlywed couple has emerged, this time from Maharashtra, where a woman, married for just three weeks, allegedly killed her husband. The woman used an axe to kill her husband while he slept following a heated argument over the latter's insistence on consummating their marriage 15 days after the wedding. The incident took place in Sangli district on the night of June 10, officials confirmed on Thursday. According to the police, the couple -- Anil Lokhande and Radhika Lokhande -- were married on May 23. The officials mentioned that it was Anil's second marriage. His first wife had died of cancer. On Tuesday night, the couple engaged in a violent altercation over consummation that reportedly continued late into the night. Radhika was exasperated by Anil's insistence, and around midnight, when he retired to bed, in a sudden act of rage, she picked up an axe and fatally struck her husband on the head, the officials said. He died instantly, officials said. Shortly after committing the murder, Radhika reportedly called her cousin and confessed to the crime. Police arrested her on Wednesday and produced her before a magistrate, who remanded her to two days' police custody. A case has been registered against her under Section 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to murder. Police sources indicate that ongoing family discord may have led to the crime, though further investigations are underway to determine the precise motive. This shocking incident comes close on the heels of the sensational murder of Indore-based Raja Raghuvanshi during his honeymoon in Meghalaya. Raja and his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, were married on May 11 and had left for their honeymoon on May 20. Merely three days into the trip, both went missing. The case, which initially began as a missing person report, took a sinister turn when Raja's body was discovered in a deep gorge in Meghalaya on June 2. His autopsy revealed two severe head injuries -- one at the back and another on the front -- confirming a brutal murder. Further investigation uncovered a premeditated plot allegedly orchestrated by Sonam, her lover Raj Kushwaha, and three of his friends -- Akash Rajput, Anand Kurmi, and Vishal Singh Chauhan. On June 7, Sonam surrendered in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. All five accused, including Sonam and Raj, confessed to the crime and have been remanded to eight days of police custody.

Noida Tech Firm Founder Refused Interim Bail In Rs 3,558 Crore Scam
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to grant interim bail on medical grounds to the founder of a Noida tech firm, Arif Nisar, who is a key accused in a money laundering case linked to Vuenow Marketing Services over rotating money between old and new investors in the guise of sub-leasing cloud particles. Counsel appearing for Nisar told the bench of Justice PK Mishra and Justice Manmohan that he needs an injection and a surgery to save the eyesight of his right eye. However, the top court noted that there were no such recommendations by the doctors on the need for his hospitalisation. At this point, Nisar asked for a fresh examination by doctors, but the court refused his request. The top court granted him the liberty to approach the high court if the doctor recommended hospitalisation. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Nisar, a key figure in Vuenow Marketing Services Ltd, as part of a money laundering investigation linked to the company and its associated entities. The probe agency in its investigation said that Zebyte Infotech Private Limited (ZIPL) and Zebyte Rental Planet Private Limited, affiliates of Vuenow Group, were rotating the money of new investors to the old ones in the guise of sub-lease rent of cloud particles. As such, no rental income was generated from any clients who purported to have taken cloud particles on rent, the Enforcement Directorate said. According to the Enforcement Directorate, Nisar, who holds 75 per cent shareholding in ZIPL, is a mentor and founder of VMSL group and a close associate of Sukhvinder Singh Kharour. Kahrour is said to be the mastermind behind this alleged scam. The ED had also arrested Vuenow Group chief executive officer Sukhvinder Singh Kharour and his wife Dimple Kharour, who are allegedly involved in cheating people on the pretext of selling to them "cloud particles (servers)" and leasing them back on the assurance of providing monthly rental income to the investors. The probe agency said that funds to the tune of Rs 3,558 crore were raised through the alleged scam. What is the scam The case stems from an allegation that promoters and directors of these firms were running a scheme in which they lured people into investing in cloud particles or servers, for which they offered guaranteed rental returns of 48 percent per annum. They allegedly told the investors they would rent out these cloud particles to clients, and the rental income would go to them. But, it is alleged by the probe agency that there were no clients. Instead, new investors were brought in to pay the old investors, using the bank accounts of sister firms Zebyte Rental Planet Pvt Ltd (ZRPPL) and Zebyte Infotech Pvt Ltd (ZIPL).
