But the Reds should defend their title. The most telling thing might be their start. The grief of losing Jota is still there, and there are a lot of new pieces to replace Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez and potentially Harvey Elliott. Will the team need time to come together? They better not as they play Newcastle, Arsenal, bitter rival Everton, Chesea and Manchester United all in the first eight matches of the season. Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and then that last spot is going to be open. Look for Aston Villa to usurp Newcastle, Spurs and Manchester United to sneak in. Who'll be relegated? For two seasons in a row all three teams that came up went right back down. This year, Sunderland have spent a lot to try and break that trend. Their net spend is fourth-highest behind Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal. They stand the best chance of staying up, but keep an eye on Bournemouth and Wolves who have lost a lot of top end talent and not replaced it. Which manager will get fired first? Ruben Amorim at Manchester United has to be the betting favourite here. He was a monstrous disappointment after his midseason appointment last year. He's got a lot of new talent handed him, but it's still hard to pin down what style he wants to play. Also watch Newcastle's Eddie Howe. They've had an awful transfer window, it seems no top talent wants to play for him and they have the added demands of the Champions League. One other contender would be Nuno Espirito Sanchez at Nottingham Forest. He did a masterful job last season almost getting them into the Champions League, they've not brought in a lot of new players and their owner Evangelos Marinakis, is a hot head, a meddler and impatient. Who is the player we don't know now that we will in May? Two English youngsters leap out. One is Arsenal's Max Doman who is stunningly just 15 years old but has turned heads at Arsenal. Combine him with Ethan Nwaneri, who's a ripe old 18, and Arsenal have two amazing kids to bank on for the future. The other to consider is Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha, who is just 16 himself, he has roared into the conversation with a sensational preseason. Ngumoha's performances were so good the club felt OK letting starting winger Luis Diaz go to Bayern Munich and didn't see the need to buy a replacement. There's some stunning teenage talent in the Premier League this year. The question is, can they perform enough to force themselves into even slight consideration for the national team for next summer's World Cup? Recently we've seen the Europa League and Conference League have English Champions, Spurs and Chelsea last year, West Ham previously. But the big one, the Champions League is the one they want. It wouldn't be shocking if Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City or Chelsea were crowned Champions of Europe next season. Reigning champs Paris St-Germain are still so deep and so good, but I think one of that English quartet will end up as the Kings of Europe this season. Opening weekend fixtures: Friday: Liverpool vs Bournemouth. Saturday: Aston Villa vs Newcastle; Brighton vs Fulham; Sunderland vs West Ham; Tottenham vs Burnley; Wolves vs Manchester City. Sunday: Chelsea vs Crystal Palace; Nottingham Forest vs Brentford; Manchester United vs Arsenal. Monday: Leeds United vs Everton.

Victorious return for Windsor Selects after securing national title
Windsor's Under-22 baseball team returns home after winning the national title for junior baseball in Nova Scotia. It's the 4th gold medal for the Windsor Selects, along with six silver and four bronzes won in the last 25 years. A two-run homer hit by Lucas Lapres helped the team win 2-0 over the Halifax Mets in the the final.
