Delhi gets 671 new ambulances, traffic cops trained for emergency response
Delhi Traffic Police has tied up with ambulance provider Zenzo to roll out a fleet of 671 aggregated ambulances, some of them 5G-enabled, to bolster its emergency response services in the capital.
Alongside the emergency vehicles, over 100 traffic police officers are being trained in CPR and basic first aid, which will enable them to double up as first medical responders during emergencies, particularly road accidents, a PTI report said.
The new ambulance fleet includes basic, cardiac, and 5G-enabled vehicles. The latter will have integrated 5G technology, making them capable of real-time health data transmission — a critical tool for doctors and paramedics to prepare treatment protocols even before the patient reaches the hospital.
Amid surging road accidents, Zenzo chief executive officer Sweta Mangal described the initiative as a step towards making Delhi-NCR "emergency ready".
However, the ambulances provided by the company will be a paid service: a basic ambulance will cost Rs 1,500 for a 5-km distance, and an additional Rs 50 per km thereafter, Mangal said. These prices will be standard across the company's countrywide fleet.
"Zenzo's core mission is to 'Make India Emergency Ready' by harnessing digital technology to build a robust medical emergency service infrastructure. We aim to provide the largest network of validated ambulances across the country available through a nation-wide toll free number 1800 102 1298," she added.

Work is currently underway to develop the Russian Orbital Station (ROS), which is planned for deployment in a near-polar orbit between 2027 and 2033. The scientific and power module (SPM), representing the first segment of the ROS, is scheduled for launch at the end of 2027. By 2030, additional components including the universal-node, gateway, and base modules are planned for launch, which together with the SPM will form the station's core infrastructure. The second phase of the station's deployment will involve expanding the facility by docking two target modules between 2031 and 2033. The deployment of Russia's orbital station is expected to begin after the scheduled deorbiting of the International Space Station by 2030. This transition comes after valuable joint space collaboration experience between Roscosmos and Nasa.

American pizza brand Little Caesars to enter India
New Delhi, Jun 7 (PTI) Little Caesars, a Detroit, Michigan-based world's third largest pizza chain, is entering the Indian market. India — one of the fastest growing quick service restaurant markets — will be the 30th market for Little Caesars, which is also the world's largest family-owned pizza chain, for which it has roped in Harnessing Harvest as its franchise partner. Farm reset: Government says agriculture sector reshaped in 11 years, budget surged five-fold since 2013 & crop output jumped
A surge in budget allocation and sustained policy focus over the past 11 years has led to a wide-ranging transformation in India's agricultural sector, the Centre said on Saturday, crediting flagship schemes with driving output, procurement, and farmer support to new highs. In an official statement, the government said its agri reforms have empowered farmers and repositioned India on the path from food security to global agricultural leadership. The transformation, it said, has focused on inclusive development — covering smallholders, women-led groups, allied sectors, and traditional practices such as millet farming. 'Over the past eleven years, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India's agricultural sector has undergone a profound transformation, rooted in the philosophy of Beej Se Bazaar Tak (seed to market),' the statement said, quoted PTI. Budgetary support for the Department of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare has risen nearly five times — from Rs 27,663 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 1,37,664.35 crore in 2024-25. Foodgrain output also recorded an increase from 265.05 million tonnes in 2014-15 to an estimated 347.44 million tonnes in 2024-25. The government said it has sharply increased minimum support prices (MSP) for key crops. Wheat MSP rose from Rs 1,400 per quintal in 2013-14 to Rs 2,425 per quintal in 2024-25, while the paddy MSP increased from Rs 1,310 to Rs 2,369 per quintal between 2013-14 and 2025-26. Since its launch in 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme has disbursed Rs 3.7 lakh crore to over 110 million farmers. Separately, about Rs 10 lakh crore in credit has been sanctioned to 7.71 crore farmers under the Kisan Credit Card initiative. Crop procurement volumes have seen a sharp uptick. Kharif procurement between FY15 and FY25 totalled 787.1 million tonnes, compared with 467.9 million tonnes in the previous decade. MSP procurement of pulses jumped from 1.52 lakh tonnes (2009–2014) to 8.3 million tonnes (2020–2025), while oilseeds procurement has grown multifold over the same period. The Centre highlighted additional measures such as investments in modern irrigation, digital agri-marketplaces, tech-led solutions, and credit support. Allied sectors like dairy and fisheries have also expanded during the period.
