Directed by Robby Grewal and written by Karan Vyas, the six-part series explores the formation of Titan — one of India's most iconic consumer brands. Alongside Shah, the show features Jim Sarbh as Xerxes Desai, the founding managing director of Titan. The cast also includes Namita Dubey, Vaibhav Tatwawaadi, Kaveri Seth, Lakshvir Saran, and Paresh Ganatra.
Made in India – A Titan Story is adapted from Vinay Kamath's book Titan: Inside India's Most Successful Consumer Brand, and traces the partnership between Tata and Desai during the 1980s. Director Grewal said, 'Bringing J.R.D. Tata's legacy to life has been an inspiring journey. His contribution was not just about business, but also about building purpose-driven institutions. With Naseeruddin Shah in the lead, we've tried to bring depth and authenticity to this important story.'
Produced by Prabhleen Sandhu of Almighty Motion Picture, the series is expected to premiere in early 2026 on Amazon MX Player. It will be available for free viewing on the platform.
Shah, who recently turned 75, continues to take on prominent roles in cinema and streaming. He was last seen in IC814: The Kandahar Hijack on Netflix.

Shots fired at Kapil Sharma's restaurant in Canada again
NEW DELHI: Comedian Kapil Sharma's cafe in Canada came under attack yet again as unidentified gunmen fired shots at the restaurant in Surrey early Thursday, reports Rajshekhar Jha. This was the second shooting at Kap's Cafe within a month. Around 9-10 shots were fired at the restaurant, of which at least six hit its walls and windows. Nobody was injured. Residents of the area called police around 4.30am on hearing gunshots, prompting dispatch of several units. A social media post - whose authenticity is not verified - surfaced after the shooting in which Goldy Dhillon, an aide of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, claimed responsibility for the attack. Indian agencies are verifying the authenticity of the post which says the gangsters had called Sharma, but as he didn't answer they had to act. The post threatens that the gang's next operation will be in Mumbai. Earlier on July 9, shots were fired at Kap's Cafe by a shooter who was wearing a body-camera and filming the shooting. Germany-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi had claimed responsibility for the attack.

Talk on gender, language in theatre, cinema
Lucknow: More than 300 scholars, writers and students attended an international discourse titled 'Understanding language and gender through theatre and cinema', at Karamat Husain Muslim Girls' PG College on Thursday. The event was organised by college manager Syed Naved Ahmad and principal Prof Huma Khwaja. Prof Khwaja highlighted the importance of examining cultural productions through the lens of gender and language. Key speakers included Prof Afroz Taj and Prof John Caldwell, both from the University of North Carolina, USA. Prof Taj said, "Any language spoken in any part of the world cannot be said to be pure, as every language is inclusive of various regional, foreign and other languages. As in the subcontinent, the Urdu language totally evolved in the pre-Independence of India. Restricting it to a community cannot be justified as it was a language widely included in Indian culture and tradition. " Prof Caldwell, a linguist and polyglot, drew connections between linguistic structures and social hierarchies. Writer and publisher Atif Haneef also addressed the gathering. The session was followed by a dance drama on the life and poetry of Ameer Khusro. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI).
