Luke Littler has partnered with Deliveroo to find the best kebab shop in the country – and one in Burnley has made the shortlist.
The Kebab Lab, on Colne Road, is the only Lancashire business to have made the top 10 shortlist in the Luke Littler x Deliveroo Best Kebab Award.
Luke, the current world number two darts player, has given his 'seal of approval' to The Kebab Lab, and a spokesperson for the business has invited Luke down to the business to try the food for himself.

Ibrar Hussain, owner, said: 'Firstly, we are extremely proud that we get to represent the Lancashire area out of all the potential candidates. We would be delighted if someone like Luke Littler would come and try our food – and have a taste of the best kebab in the north.

'We also hope people from the Lancashire community will vote for us.'
Deliveroo has created a special trophy for the winner in the shape of a chicken shish. In the campaign promotion, Luke holds a glistening, golden kebab in one hand and a delicious grilled chicken shish in the other, calling on fellow kebab-lovers to get voting for their favourite local spot delivering stellar shish, show-stopping shawarmas or glorious gyros.
Having shown plenty of support for his hometown kebab spot in the past, Luke is here to encourage the nation to do the same and vote for their favourite kebab restaurant. In collaboration with Deliveroo, Luke has given the Littler seal of approval on a shortlist of 10 of the nation's very best kebab restaurants, handing it over to the public to cast their vote.
Luke said: 'Whether it's chicken tikka or lamb, there are three steps to a tasty kebab, juicy lean meat, fresh salad, all wrapped up in soft bread. The final check-out and making the perfect kebab is tough, but these restaurants on Deliveroo are doing it right. I can't see any misses in this list, so it's over to you to get voting. Game on.'
Will Shu, CEO and founder at Deliveroo said: 'Who better than Luke Littler to reintroduce the award that celebrates a true Deliveroo fan favourite, the kebab. The restaurants in the running are serving kebabs of incredible quality and have built loyal followings in their local communities.
'We want to recognise those doing it best - so get voting for your favourite restaurants nominated for the award.'
Whilst Luke has had a hand in picking the 10 finalists for the Best Kebab, it's up to the nation to decide the champion.
The new kebab category is now open for the public to vote on the 2025 Deliveroo Restaurant Awards website at: www.deliveroorestaurantawards.com. Voting closes on 9th May.
Takeaway fans can cast their vote for UK and Ireland's most loved restaurants in their local area at deliveroorestaurantawards.com between April 14 and May 9. Customers who vote will be automatically entered into a draw to win £150 in Deliveroo credit.

Deliveroo and Manna introduce drone-based food delivery in Ireland

Deliveroo, in collaboration with Manna Drones, has introduced a drone food delivery service in Dublin, Ireland. This service will be available to Deliveroo customers in the Blanchardstown area of the city. Deliveroo is embarking on a test phase to evaluate the drone service in suburban areas. Manna Drones, an Irish company founded in 2019, has previously entered into a collaboration with Just Eat for drone deliveries in Dublin, to broaden the services across other European nations, as reported by Bloomberg. The initial drone delivery service will encompass a three-kilometre radius in the Dublin 15 area, with the option for drone delivery on the app for customers. Anticipated delivery time could be as low as three minutes, and there are plans to extend the service to more restaurants and introduce grocery and retail deliveries before the end of 2025. Set to be launched from Manna's hub in Blanchardstown, the drones reach speeds of up to 80 km/hour. Deliveroo chief business officer Carlo Mocci stated: 'We're excited to explore how drones can help us reach new customers, complementing our existing rider model and if successful, the prospect of expanding drone deliveries across Ireland and into other markets.' Manna has already completed 170,000 flights in Ireland and operates bases in the US state of Texas and in Finland. The company is also looking to expand its operations to the UK and to European Union countries besides Ireland by the end of 2025. Manna is also a member of a UK consortium that includes Wing and Lancashire Fire and Rescue, which is funded by the UK Civil Aviation Authority. Is DoorDash Planning To Gobble Up Europe? Company Strikes $3.9 Billion Deal To Buy UK Food Delivery Company Deliveroo

DoorDash (NASDAQ: DASH) is synonymous with food delivery in the U.S., and now it appears the company is positioning itself to take on the European delivery giant has announced it will acquire U.K.-based Deliveroo in a $3.9 billion deal. U.K.-based Deliveroo is like DoorDash in that it is one of the most recognizable names in its geographic market. The deal, which Reuters says both sides have been working on for the last several months, is indicative of a changing landscape in the food delivery business. According to Reuters, the sector has been struggling due to several factors. First, inflation and increased costs have forced consumers to tighten their belts, and dialing back on luxuries like dinner delivery is an easy way to cut expenses. Second, there is an overabundance of competitors in the sector. Don't Miss: Maker of the $60,000 foldable home has 3 factory buildings, 600+ houses built, and big plans to solve housing — Inspired by Uber and Airbnb – Deloitte's fastest-growing software company is transforming 7 billion smartphones into income-generating assets – The two obstacles to profit have created an environment where consolidation is much more likely. AJ Bell Investment Director Russ Mould told Reuters he believes the entire sector has been weakened by an oversaturation of delivery services competing for the same customers. That kind of climate inevitably means that some food-delivery services operating today will not survive the current downturn. 'Only the strongest will survive, and they're the ones picking up smaller rivals who realize their future is [the] best part of a bigger entity, and not going it alone,' he said. DoorDash may have gotten a good deal on the final price. According to Reuters, Deliveroo shares are trading on the London Stock Exchange for less than half of their 2021 IPO price. Deliveroo CEO Will Shu, who delivered meals himself during the company's formative years, was philosophical about the current business climate and its effect on the company's share price. Trending: Invest where it hurts — and help millions heal:. 'That was a different time, (and) a different interest rate environment," Shu told Reuters. He was optimistic about Deliveroo's long-term future, but also very aware of how much competition his company was facing. 'The board and myself evaluated that and said, 'Where do we think Deliveroo should be in order for us to truly win?' And we thought this was the right place for us,' he said. Shu's analysis illustrates the reality of being a CEO of a company. You have a duty to your shareholders and investors to do what's best for the company, even if that means being acquired at a relative discount by a larger company. With that said, it's not all bad news for Shu. Reuters estimates that he will receive roughly $215 million for his Deliveroo shares. "I could not be more excited by the prospect of what DoorDash and Deliveroo will be able to accomplish together," said DoorDash CEO Tony Xu. " We'll cover more than 40 countries with a combined population of more than 1 billion people, enabling us to provide more local businesses with the tools and technology they need to thrive." Reuters estimates the two companies did roughly $90 billion in delivery orders in 2024.
