'Full Might Of US Armed Forces Will Come Down': Trump Threatens Iran Amid Israel Conflict

Last Updated: Donald Trump threatened Iran against striking the US in any form amid conflict with Israel and said that the United States forces will come down on Tehran if attacked. President Donald Trump on Saturday (local time) threatened Iran against launching an attack on the United States 'in any way or form", warning that doing so would prompt the country's armed forces to 'come down on you at levels never seen before". He underlined that the Israeli attack on Iran on Saturday night did not have any involvement of the US and therefore any Iranian attack on the US will be consequential. Trump also claimed that he can 'easily" get a deal finalised between Iran and Israel. 'The U.S. had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight. If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before. However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict," Trump posted on Truth Social. His remarks came hours after Israel said it struck Iranian Defence Ministry headquarters, besides energy and nuclear sites, in the overnight attack carried out third night in a row under 'Operation Rising Lion'. A planned round of nuclear talks between the US and Iran, scheduled to be held in Oman today, was called off by the latter. Trump had urged Iran on Friday to agree to a deal with the US over its nuclear programme. Earlier today, the Israel Defence Forces said that they had carried out airstrikes on sites in Tehran linked to Iran's nuclear weapons programmes. Air raid sirens were heard in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv after Iran launched a fresh wave of attacks. Iran's Revolutionary Guards said their missiles and drones targeted Israel's energy systems and facilities that produce fuel for fighter jets. First Published: June 15, 2025, 10:26 IST

US Embassy Building In Israel's Tel Aviv Damaged After Iran Missile Strike

Last Updated: US Embassy In Israel: US Ambassador to Israel said that the Embassy building in Tel Aviv suffered damage in the Iranian missile strikes. Isreali US Embassy: A United States Embassy branch in Tel Aviv was hit in the Iranian missile strikes as military conflict with Israel entered its fourth day on Monday, a top official said. Mike Huckabee, the US Ambassador to Israel, said on social media that minor damage was reported near the branch office in the city after 'concussions of an Iranian missile hit nearby". No US personnel were injured in the incident; however, the US Embassy in the country and its consulate remain closed today due to the ongoing shelter-in-place order. Our @usembassyjlm US Embassy in Israel & Consulate will officially remain closed today as shelter in place still in effect. Some minor damage from concussions of Iranian missile hits near Embassy Branch in @TelAviv but no injuries to US personnel.— Ambassador Mike Huckabee (@GovMikeHuckabee) June 16, 2025 This comes as Israel and Iran continued to fire missiles and drones at each other on Sunday night and early Monday morning. The video emerging from the building showed broken glass and window panes. — OSINTdefender (@sentdefender) June 16, 2025 A day earlier, US President Donald Trump had warned Iran against striking any US assets, threatening 'full might of the armed forces" if they do so. 'The U.S. had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight. If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before. However, we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict," Trump had said on Truth Social on Saturday (local time), as Israel struck Iran's energy and nuclear sites in a major escalation of the conflict. The ongoing military action by both warring nations has raised fears of missile attacks spiraling into a wider regional conflict. An Iranian top official claimed on camera that Pakistan has told them that they would nuke Israel if it attacks Iran with a nuclear bomb. 'Pakistan has told us that if Israel uses nuclear missiles, we will also attack it with nuclear weapons," Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) general and Iranian National Security Council member Mohsen Rezaei said in an interview. Iran's health ministry has said that Israeli strikes since last Friday — when the first attack took place on nuclear sites — have killed 224 people. Israel launched 'Operation Rising Lion' on June 13 to target Iran's nuclear facilities. In response, Iran launched a counter-operation codenamed 'Operation True Freedom 3'. Ballistic missiles were fired at each other, which have claimed several lives on both sides of the border. First Published: June 16, 2025, 11:10 IST

India's goods trade deficit narrows to $21.88 billion in May from year ago

New Delhi: India's merchandise trade deficit narrowed to $21.88 billion in May, data from the ministry of commerce and industry showed on Monday. Merchandise exports fell to $38.73 billion in May from $39.59 billion in the year-ago period. Goods imports declined to $60.61 billion last month from $61.68 billion a year ago. In April, the merchandise trade deficit rose to a five-month high of $26.42 billion on the back of higher imports, even as exports increased. After Trump's tariffs and the India-Pakistan conflict, traders now face the challenge of escalating tensions in West Asia after Israel attacked Iran on 13 June. The armed conflict between Iran and Israel has escalated concerns over the safety of cargo passing through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea, a critical maritime corridor for Indian exports. Over two-thirds of India's oil imports and almost half of its liquefied natural gas imports transit through the Strait of Hormuz. The Israel-Iran attacks have increased shipment costs by up to 50% and threaten to disrupt trade routes across West Asia. Exporters and trade bodies have already flagged shipping delays, rising freight charges, and limited insurance coverage, officials said. The latest conflict comes amid global trade tensions triggered after US President Donald Trump briefly imposed reciprocal tariffs on imports from key partners, including India, before pausing them to allow space for negotiations. The Trump administration has also levied a 10% universal tariff on all imports from every country. India and the US are working out a limited trade deal to ease market access and tariff barriers—a modest but crucial step as India's import bill continues to rise. In addition, the recent India-Pakistan conflict strained regional trade dynamics. Heightened tensions have halted formal exchanges, affecting border economies and informal trade channels. The instability also deters investor confidence in the region, compounding challenges for India's trade outlook amid already rising import bills and global tariff uncertainties. Services exports rose to $32.39 billion in May, from $29.61 billion in the same period of the previous year. Services imports stood at $17.14 billion, compared with $16.88 billion a year earlier. The combined value of merchandise and services exports touched $71.12 billion in May, up from $69.20 billion a year ago.
