Prince Harry's Former Charity Suddenly Disables Instagram Comments amid Controversy
Sentebale, an African charity cofounded by Prince Harry, has disabled Instagram comments due to "targeted online harassment"
Harry and Prince Seesio of Lethoso co-founded the organization in 2006; however, they resigned as patrons earlier this year amid a leadership crisis
The U.K.-based Charity Commission is currently investigating Sentebale and its chairwoman, Dr. Sophie ChandaukaPrince Harry's former charity, Sentebale, has disabled Instagram comments amid claims of "targeted online harassment."
The organization, which was co-founded by Harry and Prince Seesio of Lethoso, shared a statement on Instagram on Friday, June 13, explaining the change.
"Unfortunately, we have had to temporarily disable comments on this platform due to the harmful effects of recent targeted online harassment," the statement read. "Our focus remains on our mission and the communities we serve. We will not engage with misinformation or personal attacks here.
The statement concluded by thanking "those who continue to support and follow the work of Sentebale."
The princes founded the charity in honor of their late mothers, Princess Diana and Queen 'Mamohato Bereng Seeiso, in 2006. Sentebale's focus is on lifting up young people affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis in Lesotho and southern Africa.
However, a scandal rocked the organization earlier this year. In March, the princes announced that they had made the "devastating" call to resign as patrons of Sentebale, following a breakdown in the relationships between the organization's board of trustees and its newly appointed chairwoman, Dr. Sophie Chandauka.
In a joint statement at the time, Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso said, "What's transpired is unthinkable. We are in shock that we have to do this, but we have a continued responsibility to Sentebale's beneficiaries, so we will be sharing all of our concerns with the Charity Commission as to how this came about."
"With heavy hearts, we have resigned from our roles as patrons of the organization until further notice, in support of and solidarity with the board of trustees who have had to do the same," they continued. "It is devastating that the relationship between the charity's trustees and the chair of the board broke down beyond repair, creating an untenable situation."
Ultimately, the trustees also stepped down after Chandauka threatened to sue them for questioning whether she was the right choice to lead the organization.
The princes' statement concluded, 'Although we may no longer be patrons, we will always be its founders, and we will never forget what this charity is capable of achieving when it is in the right care."
On April 3, the U.K.-based Charity Commission announced that it had opened 'a regulatory compliance case' into the turmoil at Sentebale. The commission will 'gather evidence and assess the compliance of the charity and trustees past and present with their legal duties.'
In response to the news, Harry issued a statement, bemoaning the fact that, amid the organizational infighting, "No one suffers more than the beneficiaries of Sentebale itself.'
'On behalf of the former trustees and patrons, we share in the relief that the Charity Commission confirmed they will be conducting a robust inquiry," he continued. "We fully expect it will unveil the truth that collectively forced us to resign. We remain hopeful this will allow for the charity to be put in the right hands immediately, for the sake of the communities we serve.'

At the time, Chandauka said she first reported "various governance, administration and management matters" about the organization in February 2025, promising that she would share her internal findings with the Charity Commission.
'We hope that, together, these actions will give the general public, our colleagues, partners, supporters, donors and the communities we serve comfort that Sentebale and its new Board of Trustees are acting appropriately to demonstrate and ensure good governance and a healthy culture for Sentebale to thrive," she said in her statement.
'In the meantime, our exceptional Executive team and operational staff remain focused on the day-to-day operations of the charity, ensuring continuity in our work and mission delivery," she added.
'We appreciate the patience, understanding and tremendous support we have received from our existing and prospective partners and supporters, and look forward to continuing to work together with you as we recalibrate for an ambitious future."

Ricki Lake Reveals Her Cosmetic Procedures
Raise your hand if you watched episodes of Ricki Lake from 1993—2004 when you were sick and stayed home from school. 🙋 Ricki Lake was back on TV, this time on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and he couldn't get over how she looks, which prompted a very candid response. The former talk show host, 56, was on the June 12 episode of WWHL talking about the loss she experienced during the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year, when she revealed she switched up her look after she struggled with hair loss six years ago. In 2019, Ricki took "a brave ass leap of faith" and shaved her hair after secretly struggling with androgenic hair loss. She shared raw video footage of the process in 2022. Ricki shared that once she cut her hair, she never colored it again, and then her hair grew back with this natural color. "I've also had, and I'll reveal this to you [although] I've told other people," Ricki said. "I've had a lower face and neck lift." Andy gave Ricki another compliment, to which she replied, "Thank you, I kind of think it's the best facelift I've ever seen," Lake replied. "And my doctor, let me give a shout out because he's a genius." "Dr. Allen Foulad is the best, and I've sent many people to him." Andy teased that he was heading for LA next, saying a lot of guests on WWHL had plastic surgery, so he's seen his fair share. Ricki pulled her hair back to show no visible scars, explaining why she was okay with sharing. "I love that I can talk about it. I'm fully transparent, always have been," she said. "I don't want there to be any stigma. This is something that was bothering me." "I lost a lot of weight and had this certain thing hanging and I had it fixed," Ricki said. Ricki joins a roster of popular TV personalities who've recently shared their plastic surgery and cosmetic journeys. Earlier this month, two of the stars of The Kardashians revealed the surgeon behind their plastic surgery. Responding to a TikTok, Kylie revealed the exact procedure and doctor (Garth Fisher) who performed her breast augmentation. When Dr. Fisher took to his Instagram to share his appreciation for Kylie sharing the news, while noting that his practice adheres to HIPAA law and confidentiality for its clients, Kris Jenner responded by sharing her own story. Kris wrote, "Garth you are such a superstar class act!! You did my first facelift in 2011… 14 years ago!!! and made it the most amazing experience ever and even gave us access to film so that others could get a peek inside what it's like and not be afraid… you have taken great care of us always and remain such a close and treasured friend!! Such an incredible talent!! ❤️🙏🏼" On June 5, Shark Tank star Barbara Corcoran joined in with an extensive list of all her specific surgical and cosmetic procedures and her beauty regimen. In an Instagram captioned, Heard the cool kids were sharing their plastic surgery secrets ➡️," Barbara shared she had three facelifts, a neck lift, an eye lift, a brow lift, filler, laser work, and more. I wonder who'll share next!

Bonnaroo 2025 cancelled after just one night due to severe storms days after co-founder's death
The remainder of music festival Bonnaroo has been cancelled due to weather just days after the death of one of its co-founders. Set to run through Sunday at Bonnaroo Farm in Manchester, Tennessee, the music festival was cancelled Friday evening after hours of delays and even an evacuation notice. 'Today, the National Weather Service provided us with an updated forecast with significant and steady precipitation that will produce deteriorating camping and egress conditions in the coming days,' Bonnaroo shared via Instagram. 'We are beyond gutted, but we must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo.' The festival promised at least partial refunds for all ticket holders, many of whom paid hundreds of dollars to attend. Luke Combs was the only of the four headliners to deliver a performance. He took the stage Thursday night and performed alongside fellow country star Miranda Lambert onstage, as well as Marcus King and Jon Bellion. The other headliners, Tyler, the Creator, Olivia Rodrigo and Hozier, have all had their sets cancelled. Additional performers slated to take the stage included Vampire Weekend, GloRilla, Tyla, Avril Lavigne, Queens of the Stone Age, John Summit, Dom Dolla, and Glass Animals. 'We have put our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special one of the year, and cannot express how crushed we are to have made this decision,' Bonnaroo's statement concluded. 'Thank you in advance for your patience, your positivity and your unfailing Bonnaroovian spirit.' Many fans were disappointed by the cancellation, with some noting it wasn't the first time in recent years attendees found themselves in this situation. 'Wondering what this means for the future of bonnaroo honestly. 3 cancellations in 5 years isn't looking good for us,' one fan wrote on Instagram. 'First and last bonnaroo. Absolute s*** show, not to mention not a speck of rain was seen after they cancelled,' another shared, while someone else agreed: 'Literally spent THOUSANDS of dollars flying from Hawaii……. first roo and most likely my last.' The fan-favorite festival's last minute cancellation came days after the death of one of its co-founders. Jonathan Mayers, who helped create a number of major American festivals, died earlier this week at 51. No cause of death has yet been announced. In a statement to Billboard, Red Light Management founder Coran Capshaw said: 'This is incredibly tough news for so many of us. Jon was the creative force behind so much of what people experience at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and many other events over the years. We're all really going to miss him.' Mayers co-founded promotions company Superfly with partners Rick Farman, Richard Goodstone and Kerry Black in 1996. They hosted their first concert during Mardi Gras. The four worked together to launch Bonnaroo in 2002 after securing the festival site on farmland in Manchester, an hour outside of Nashville. They worked closely with Capshaw's Red Light Management and other industry figures to book headliners, including the Grateful Dead's Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. In 2008, Mayers partnered with Another Planet Entertainment to create the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Mayers left Superfly acrimoniously in 2021, and the following year sued his former partners Farman, Goodstone and Black, accusing them of civil misrepresentation, breach of contract and fraud. Mayers alleged that they had misrepresented the value of his shares in the promotions company. The lawsuit was dismissed in 2023. Superfly said in a statement to Billboard: 'We are heartbroken with the passing of Jonathan. He was a cherished part of Superfly's story, woven into it's history and legacy. In addition to the role he's played in bringing joy to millions, we will miss his razor sharp wit, infectious smile and contagious laugh. No one could light up a room like Jon.'
