Men's World No.1, Sinner, rallied to a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 triumph against Spaniard Alcaraz in the summit clash at the AELTC on Sunday, a day after Swiatek blazed past American Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in the title match in the women's category.
This victory was Sinner's maiden title at the historic Wimbledon, a first for Swiatek as well.
The 24-year-old Swiatek, who already held four French Open titles and a US Open crown, added the prestigious Venus Rosewater Dish to her collection.
The Pole, who had never advanced past the quarterfinals at Wimbledon before this year, silenced all doubters with her crowning moment at the iconic event.

'Don't Let Them Distract You While They Rob Our Country Blind', Says Conor McGregor Amid Azaalia Banks Row

Banks claimed that McGregor sent her a couple of explicit images, and instead of confirming or denying the allegations, McGregor took a crack at Irish President hopeful McGuinness. Conor McGregor took to the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to crack a political joke a couple of days after American rapper Azealia Banks exposed the combat artist for sending her unsolicited nude images. Banks had shared a couple of explicit images of McGregor, one in which the Irishman was holding weights with the caption that read, 'Lifting Weights', while the other reeked of a warning labelled 'Don't be a rat cos all rats get caught.' However, instead of confirming or denying it, McGregor chose to respond to a social media user who had alluded to the allegations after the fighter's criticism of Irish presidential hopeful Mairead McGuinness. 'Don't let them distract you with my G C while they rob our country blind," McGrogor's post read. McGregor's comment on McGuniess use of EU expenses read. The user had posted an update that read, 'This is why the big news is Conor's giant cock rather than the facts he is spraying." He was celebrating his 37th birthday on a yathc in Ibiza in Spain. McGregor has been a flagbearer for the world of combat sports since he made the headlines for his in-ring domination of opponents for a prolonged period of time. The Irishman has not been one to shy away form controversies or the tabloid columns. view comments First Published: July 17, 2025, 09:46 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Atletico Madrid signs American midfielder Johnny Cardoso in a 5-year deal

Atletico Madrid continues to boost its squad for next season, signing young American midfielder Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis. The 23-year-old Cardoso arrived on a five-year contract, Atletico said Wednesday. Cardoso was born in the United States but is of Brazilian descent and has an Italian passport, meaning he doesn't occupy a non-European Union slot in Diego Simeone's squad. The holding midfielder played in Brazil until moving to Betis in the 2023-24 season, where he became an important player for Manuel Pellegrini's team. Cardoso made his senior debut for the United States in a match against Wales in 2020. He has 22 caps, winning the CONCACAF Nations League in 2023 and 2024. Cardoso had to withdraw from Mauricio Pochettino's CONCACAF Nations League squad in March due to a muscle injury. Atletico on Tuesday reached an agreement to sign 24-year-old Argentina international Thiago Almada from Brazilian club Botafogo.
