NO South African Grand Prix on 2026 Formula One calendar
The 2026 campaign will open for the second successive season in Australia at Melbourne's Albert Park street circuit on March 6-8.
The race in the Spanish capital Madrid is on September 11-13 and will bring the curtain down on the European segment of the season.
The new Madrid circuit will have both street and non-street sectors.
The 24-weekend campaign will again conclude in Abu Dhabi, on December 4-6.
Montreal in Canada will now follow Miami in May to cut down on travelling for the teams.
The 2026 season promises to look radically different with Cadillac becoming the 11th team on the grid and sweeping new regulations on aerodynamics and power units.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem, president of motorsport's governing body, the FIA, said: 'Next year's FIA Formula One World Championship marks a significant new chapter for our sport.
'A new race, new teams, and the arrival of new manufacturers, all ushering in a fresh era of innovation and competition.'

Lucky Star Pilchards under fire over shock 'shrinkflation'
Lucky Star has come under fire after consumers have been posting the contents of their near-empty tinned pilchard cans. The canned fish company is a staple in many South African homes, and was a favourite of the late former minister, Tito Mboweni. LUCKY STAR PILCHARDS UNDER FIRE OVER CONTENTS On the X app, user Pranesh Luckan shared pics of his decanted Lucky Star Pilchards can. The pictures show three small pieces of canned fish and a substantial quantity of tomato sauce. 'Guys, I know this is our national tinned fish brand, but what kind of shrinkflation is this? 3 and 1/2 pieces of fish weighing 136g in a 400g can. Is @LuckyStarSA selling pilchards or tomato sauce?' he asked in a tweet that has gone viral. Another X user – @@_spreadhappines – received just one pilchard in their can. On its official account, the brand responded to the posts, stating: 'We are sorry to hear this – and can assure you that this is not the proper standard that Lucky Star strives to uphold'. According to Luckan, Lucky Star would also be investigating the production batch of the can. In the past few years, rising food prices have drastically increased the cost of tinned pilchards like the Lucky Star brand. However, earlier this year, the Competition Commission's latest Essential Food Pricing Monitoring (EFPM) report revealed that pilchards were one of a few essential items whose price had slightly decreased. Chippa United dismantle technical team, three coaches sacked!
Chippa United chairman Siviwe Mpengesi is at it again, firing three members of his technical team after just one game. Interim coach Musa Nyatama, goalkeeper coach Thembalethu Moses and analyst Prinil Deen have all been sacked. This follows Chippa United's 4-1 loss to TS Galaxy on Tuesday where Nyatama led the team on the bench. The game also marked the first without Sinethemba Badela who left Chippa United after two games in charge as head coach. Reports suggest Badela and newly-appointed Sporting Director Sinesipho Mali had disagreements on the direction the team should take. As things stand, the Chilli Boys are placed 15th on the log with a single point from their opening three league matches. Meanwhile, former Free State Stars mentor Luc Eymael is reported to be the next coach to take over at the Gqeberha-based outfit. Joe Schmidt sticks to winning formula as Wallabies eye historic double over Springboks

Valetini's physicality will also be crucial in what could be a wet and muddy affair in the Mother City. 'Corey is a great young kid. He's come in from the Sevens programme, which is something several of the South African speedsters have done,' Schmidt said. 'He's adapting well to the game, and this will be a steep learning curve for him. You want to grow their game and get them comfortable transitioning from Sevens to Fifteens. There's a lot less space to move in, and you must become proficient around the contact area. He has worked hard at that.' According to Schmidt, they expect a fierce aerial battle, and he highlighted that as another strength of Toole's game. He wants to see his side perform better when it comes to competing for high kicks.
