An Edinburgh police dog tracked down suspects after a motorbike was stolen.
The incident, which happened on Friday night, saw two individuals steal a Surron in Drylaw. Police dog Rico was called in to trace them, before recovering the bike.
The cunning canine has been praised by locals for his actions. Police Scotland Edinburgh said: "Police dog Rico was busy last night in Drylaw.
"He tracked two suspects after they stole a Surron. On seeing Rico, one jumped a fence in to the arms of waiting officers and the second thought running was over rated after Rico had a "chat" with him!
"Rico then tracked and recovered the bike."

One local resident responded: "Well done Rico, bet he's a dab paw at his touch screen report writing too."
A second added: "He gave them paws for thought!"
A third said: "Well done PD Rico (and handler of course)."

Another commented: "Good auld Rico doing us proud."
Rico recently leaped into action on May 17, tracking down three robbers and two thieves. PD Rico and his handler were called in to sniff out three suspects who were trying to play "hide and seek" with officers at a housebreaking.
PD Rico's keen sense of smell led him to two of the culprits hiding in the bushes at a nearby golf course.

Two Scottish gangsters linked to notorious clan shot dead outside Spanish bar
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Two men shot dead outside an Irish bar in Spain have been named as top members of a Scottish crime clan. The gangland execution took place in front of shocked punters and tourists at Monaghan's pub in Fuengirola, Costa Del Sol. Local reports claim a masked gunman pulled up outside the bar and opened fire, fatally killing both Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons Jnr - both of whom are linked to the notorious Lyons clan, reports the Record. It is currently unknown if the horror shooting is linked to the ongoing gang war in Scotland. Ross Monaghan is registered as the owner of Monaghan's pub which looks onto the beachfront in the popular holiday resort. Punters were enjoying a drink after the Champions League final when the shooter opened fire towards the entrance. Authorities in Spain say the first victim was shot in the chest and the second in the chest and abdomen. The government's sub-delegate in Malaga Javier Salas also confirmed the two victims were Scottish. Harrowing images from the scene show a man lying lifeless on his back in shorts and a T-shirt by a drinks and meal blackboard on an outside terrace at the Irish bar. In other disturbing images police and paramedics can be seen surrounding the body of one of the victims, thought to be the same man, after he was covered under a blanket as shocked locals and holidaymakers looked on. There are no reports yet of any arrests, although police set up roadblocks in the area after the shooting to try to catch those responsible.

Two men shot dead in Spanish resort bar after Scottish gang war 'truce' denied
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Two people have been shot at a popular Irish bar within a Spanish holiday resort. A masked man is said to have entered Monaghans Fuengirola in Costa del Sol and killed his victims in front of horrified tourists and expats enjoying a drink after the end of the Champions League final before fleeing in a getaway vehicle, reports The Record. Reports have been made of two gunmen, although this information is yet to be confirmed by police. The nationalities of the two people killed has not yet been made public, although local media are saying neither is Spanish. A spokesman for the National Police in Malaga, in the force's first official comment on the incident, said this morning: 'Around midnight an incident with firearms occurred in Fuengirola, specifically at an entertainment venue along the seafront. 'Two males died as a result from gunshot wounds. The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.' Officers did not respond to queries about the nationalities of the victims or offer any extra information about them. It's understood the shootings are related to the ongoing gang wars erupting in Scotland. Pictures from the scene at around 11.30pm show a man lying on his back in shorts and a T-shirt by a drinks and meal blackboard on an outside terrace at the Irish bar. The killings come amid a violent gang war that has been raging in Scotland since March. The feud first erupted following a fallout between rival gangsters after a £500k stash of cocaine was reportedly swiped from under the nose of Dubai-based Mr Big, Ross McGill. Join Edinburgh Live's Whatsapp Community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages. The drugs were reportedly taken by caged Edinburgh kingpin Mark Richardson's foot soldiers sparking a series of violent attacks on homes and businesses. Mr Big, who was later revealed as former Union Bears capo McGill waged war on Richardson and his associates, including the Daniels crime clan in Glasgow. Mr Big's enforcers, a faceless and frightening group going by the name of Tamo Junto (TMJ), have carried out a series of fire bombings and other vicious attacks on homes, businesses and cars associated with Richardson. We reported earlier this week a well-placed source said the Dubai-based Mr Big behind attacks on Daniel targets, Ross McGill, had agreed to end hostilities after being leaned on by cartel bosses in Dubai. Sign up for Edinburgh Live newsletters for more headlines straight to your inbox However gangland enforces Tamo Junto (TMJ) quickly quashed any talk of peace as they vowed to continue to carry out the turf war. The video released by the TMJ crime gang on Friday morning states that anyone linked to the Daniel Clan or Mark Richardson remains a target for their group.
