Telugu actress Abhignya Vuthaluru, who made her debut with 'Her – Chapter 1' and 'Geetha Subramanyam: Season 3', also starred in the web series 'Miss Perfect', is now set to appear in the supernatural thriller 'Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting'. The series will premiere on June 27 on ZEE5 Global, which revolves around a chilling curse that looms over residents of a remote village known as Viraatapalem, where every bride mysteriously dies on her wedding day. For over decade, no marriage has taken place, and the once-thriving village is now home only to very young and the very old, crippled by fear and superstition. Abhignya Vutahluru On Pay Disparity Issue
Abhignya Vuthaluru, who will be featuring for the first time as a lead actress in this series, spoke about the pay disparity issue between genders. The 30-year-old actress expressed her views on it and mentioned that it should be an 'equal pay system.'
During a conversation with India.com, Abhignya said, ' This is something that I am yet to learn, because mujhe lagta hai ki pay disparity nahi honi chahiye, kyunki main agar ek taraf se ek energy laa rahi hoon, ladki ki tarah, ladke bhi jab aate hai, I am sure they also come with certain energy. Agar humara kaam ek hi level par ho raha hai energy ke hisaab se, then we all deserve equal pay, par recent interviews dekha jaye, market value bhi bata rahi ki ek bandi market value itna laati hai, you have to pay them larger .' (This is something that I am yet to learn. Because I feel that there should be no pay disparity. If our work is happening on the same level of energy, I think we all deserve equal pay. But if you look at recent interviews, market value is also showing that a girl brings so much market value. So, you have to pay them larger.) We Don't Put Female Actors On Pedestal
Abhignya further continued and stated, ' So, I think as more than actors being questioned, I think we have to change all of us as a community, jaise hum bahut male actors ko celebrate karte hain, we don't put female actors on a pedestal, so rather than asking the actors may be agar hum community ke hisaab se equal ki tarah importance dein performances ko than genders, then automatically I think pay parity will lead. ' (So, I think as more than actors being questioned, I think we have to change all of us as a community, like we celebrate too many male actors, we don't put female actors on a pedestal, so rather than asking the actors may be if we as a community have equal importance dein performances than genders, then automatically I think pay parity will lead.)

How Soubin Shahir became Coolie's breakout star: Stole the show from Rajinikanth, outdanced Pooja Hegde in Monica song

Rajinikanth, one of the biggest screen icons of all time, is the film's hero. Nagarjuna, one of the most popular superstars in Telugu cinema, is the villain. Lokesh Kanagaraj and Anirudh Ravinchander - both in their peak - have also contributed immensely. Yet, the breakout star of Coolie's success is an unassuming Malayali actor, who outshone, outacted, and even outdanced everyone in the film. Soubin Shahir is earning heavy praise for his performance in the film, with most calling him the film's breakout star. Soubin Shahir (R) with Rajinikanth and Shruti Haasan in Coolie. Who is Soubin Shahir? To anyone familiar with Malayalam cinema, Soubin is not a new name or face. The actor-filmmaker was somewhat of a late bloomer, beginning as an assistant director to Fazil, Siddique, Rafi-Mecartin, P. Sukumar, Santhosh Sivan, Rajeev Ravi, and Amal Neerad in the 2000s. It wasn't until he was 30 that Soubin made his full-fledged acting debut with Annayum Rasoolum. Two years later, he had his breakthrough in Malayalam cinema with Premam. His first lead role in Sudani from Nigeria, which won him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor, came when he was 34. In 2017, he made his directorial debut with Parava. Before Coolie, Soubin was best known for his acclaimed performance in Manjummel Boys. Soubin earned mainstream popularity outside Kerala with his starring roles in Kumbalangi Nights and Manjummel Boys. The latter became the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever. His performance was regarded as one of the "100 Greatest Performances of the Decade" by Film Companion. With Manjummel Boys, he also turned producer for the first time. Coolie marked his first full-length role appearance in Tamil cinema. He had done a cameo in the 2017 film, Solo. But it was Coolie that allowed him to reach out to pan-India audiences in a big way. Soubin Shahir's role in Coolie Coolie is the story of Rajinikanth's Deva, a retired coolie who investigates his friend's death and gets embroiled in the criminal activities of a gangster named Simon (Nagarjuna). Soubin plays Dayal, a henchman of Simon and an unpredictable character whose loyalties lie only with himself. The character has become a fan favourite, with Soubin winning praise for his performance as well. On social media, he is being called the 'scene-stealer', no mean feat in a Rajinikanth film that also has Nagarjuna, Upendra, and Aamir Khan. "#SoubinShahir the Show Stealer in #Coolie," read a tweet with a collage of his scenes from the film. Another fan wrote, "Bro #SoubinShahir deserves National award in a supporting actor role for his stellar performance." Soubin Shahir's viral dance to Monica But if he wasn't content with winning acclaim for his acting, Soubin Shahir stole the show with his dance moves as well. Coolie features a dance number called Monica, which sees Pooja Hegde in a special appearance as the titular siren. The song, composed by Anirudh, features electric choreography from Sandy Master. But many noted that despite Pooja's grace and charm, Soubin was the star of the music video. One viewer shared a clip of the song and tweeted, "Pooja Hegde was highly praised for dominating every dance number even if paired with 'SUPERSTARS' until the real showman showed up. The Name is Soubin Shahir." Another tweet read, '41-year-old boy #SoubinShahir stole the whole song.' What's next for Soubin Shahir Soubin Shahir has not confirmed his next project as of yet. There have been reports that he is in talks to play the antagonist in Ajith Kumar's next. If true, that would be a level up for the talented actor, and not a moment too soon.

I'm not well-versed in Hindi yet, but I want to do another big role in Bollywood: Deepak Paramesh

Reflecting on how he was approached for Ground Zero , Deepak tells us that he initially doubted the legitimacy of the project. I want to do lead roles in the future and explore different genres. Going by my looks, people think I'm a serious actor, but I love to do comedy. I'm open to experimentation,' begins actor Deepak Paramesh , who made his Bollywood debut this year with Emraan Hashmi 's Ground Zero . Reflecting on how he was approached for Ground Zero , Deepak tells us that he initially doubted the legitimacy of the project. 'I got a call from a casting director from Mumbai. The audition process went on for a couple of months. I initially thought somebody was fooling around with me. I was like, 'Why would someone connect with me from Mumbai when I am from Chennai?' I had to ask a couple of friends to verify if it was a legitimate audition,' he recalls. After he committed to doing the film, his biggest challenge was learning Hindi. He shares, 'I was the only South Indian on set. I had a language barrier. I was pretty scared to act in a different language, as I didn't want to fumble and embarrass myself. I asked my friends to record and send dialogues in Hindi so that I could hear them and practice.' Deepak considers being part of the film to be a 'once-in-a-lifetime opportunity'. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? Vitauthority Learn More Undo 'I made sure I got the script in hand and practised my lines. So, I was well prepared three months before the shoot took off. Ground Zero has now given me a new level of confidence. I'm very much open to auditioning, and I want to do another big role in a Hindi film,' he says. Though he admits he's not wellversed in Hindi yet, he adds, 'But I now have a way to crack the language if I'm given time. If I'm well-prepared, I can speak any language. After Ground Zero , I've taken up dubbing projects, even in Telugu. Whether it be dubbing or acting, language doesn't matter. If you get the emotions right, all that you need to do is put them into words and convey them to the audience.' Stating that he doesn't find much of a difference in the Tamil and Hindi film industries, he says, 'Maybe the scale, in terms of budget, differs. Both industries are professional, but the way people move and communicate are different.' The actor has multiple projects lined up, including an anthology, titled Love-Fi . 'I play one of the leads in it. In my segment, I act alongside Samyuktha Viswanathan, who is a very disciplined actor. I'm also doing a supernatural thriller, titled Nila Varum Velai , with Kalidas Jayaram, and acting as one of the antagonists in Thadai Udai with Bobby Simha.' On a concluding note, he shares that he has now been trained to adapt as per the requirements of a film and its director. 'I have worked with directors who want exactly what's in the script. I've also worked with directors who want me to act impromptu. I got the training to do that from Karthik Subbaraj by absorbing his working style,' he signs off.
