BCCI Punishes Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians After Defeat To Punjab Kings
Following the defeat, MI were found guilty of maintaining a slow over-rate and were subsequently penalised. This is the third time this IPL season that MI have committed this offence.
Hardik Pandya has been found in breach of the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences and has been fined Rs 30 lakh.
'The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 12 lakhs or 50 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser," the IPL said in a statement.
Batting first, MI posted 203/6 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma scored 44 runs each, while Jonny Bairstow made 38 in a combined middle-order display.
Like MI, PBKS also lost an opener cheaply but overcame this setback to overhaul the target in 19 overs, with captain Shreyas Iyer hitting an unbeaten 87 off 41. PBKS will now face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final at the same venue on Tuesday. This will be the fourth time that these two sides will clash in the ongoing season.
Pandya attributed PBKS' win to Iyer's outstanding batting.
'The way Shreyas batted, took his chances, and some of the shots he played were really outstanding. I think they definitely batted really well. I think it (MI's total) was par, but it needed some great execution as a bowling unit, which I think in these big games it really matters," Pandya said.
This was the sixth consecutive occasion that MI have lost a game in Ahmedabad, with their sole victory coming in 2014 against Rajasthan Royals.

Some were discharged after treatment," the Chief Minister stated, adding that all injured individuals would receive free medical care. Siddaramaiah assured that those undergoing treatment in both government and private hospitals will have their medical expenses fully borne by the state. "I have spoken with doctors to ensure proper treatment for all the injured," he said. The tragedy has cast a shadow over what was meant to be a jubilant public celebration of RCB's maiden IPL title. BCCI floats RFP for IPL and WPL digital services
Mumbai, June 4 (UNI) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday invited proposals from reputed entities to provide digital services for the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Women's Premier League (WPL), aiming to further enhance the digital presence and fan engagement of both premier T20 competitions. Issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP), the cricket board said, 'The BCCI invites proposals from reputed entities to acquire the rights and obligations to provide services relating to IPL and WPL Digital Properties.' The RFP document outlines the terms, conditions, and technical specifications governing the submission and evaluation of bids. It can be purchased upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs 2.50 lakh plus applicable GST for Indian entities, and USD 2,925 for foreign entities. The RFP will be available from June four. The last date to seek clarifications is June 20, the deadline to purchase the RFP is June 25, and completed proposals must be submitted by July seven. Only those meeting the eligibility criteria will be eligible to bid. Indian applicants must have a minimum annual turnover of Rs 15 crore, while foreign applicants must show equivalent turnover. Applicants must also have at least eight years of relevant digital service experience, with preference given to those with a track record in sports, particularly cricket, and expertise in broadcast-integrated digital solutions. 'It is clarified that merely purchasing the RFP does not entitle any person to bid,' the BCCI stated, adding that only those who meet the eligibility conditions and submit complete documentation will be allowed to participate in the bidding process. Interested parties must email payment confirmation to [rfp@ as per the procedure laid out in the RFP's Annexure A.
