Nets' Ziaire Williams 2024-25 NBA season highlights
Brooklyn Nets forward Ziaire Williams came to the Nets last offseason looking to make the most of the final year of his rookie contract after being traded away by the Memphis Grizzlies. While Williams being traded to Brooklyn wasn't that surprising given that the Grizzlies had moved in a different direction, the former Stanford Cardinal still had a chance to change the perception of him and his ceiling.
Williams, 23, went on to have the best season of his career since he was taken with the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft after being a one-and-done at Stanford. Williams averaged 10.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 41.2% from the field and 34.1% from three-point land during a season in which the Nets were able to provide him with a starting role once Dorian Finney-Smith was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Just as the Nets were hoping for when they traded for him, Williams averaged career-highs in many statistical categories, including points, rebounds, steals, and three-point shooting percentage. Williams came into the NBA with the profile of being a forward who could contribute right away with his shooting and defense while having the potential to develop into something more if he developed the right way.
Part of the reason that Memphis decided to move on from Williams was due to his penchant for suffering injuries that took him out of action for long stretches of time, something that a young player like him can't afford as the time missed gets in the way of his development. However, Williams was able to dispel that notion as he played in a career-high 63 games this season for Brooklyn, showing how durable he can be.
Williams made his mark for head coach Jordi Fernandez and company by guarding the opposing team's best perimeter player along with showing some promising growth in his long-range shooting, potentially setting him up for what could be a fruitful free-agency experience. Without further ado, here are some of Williams' highlights from his career season:

Brooklyn Nets jersey history No. 22 - Jan van Breda Kolff (1976-83)

The Brooklyn Nets have 52 jersey numbers worn by over 600 different players over the course of their history since the franchise was founded in 1967 as a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), when the team was known as the "New Jersey Americans". Since then, that league has been absorbed by the NBA with the team that would later become the New York Nets and New Jersey Nets before settling on the name by which they are known today, bringing their rich player and jersey history with them to the league of today. To commemorate the players who played for the Nets over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers, Nets Wire is covering the entire history of the franchise's jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. The 23rd of those 52 different numbers is jersey No. 22, which has has had a total of 31 players wear the number in the history of the team. The 13th of those players wearing No. 22 played in the (then) New York and New Jersey (now, Brooklyn) Nets eras, forward alum Jan van Breda Kolff. After ending his college career at Vanderbilt, van Breda Kolff was picked up with the 20th overall selection of the 1974 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. The Palos Verdes, California native instead signed with the ABA's Denver Nuggets, and also played for the (defunct) Virginia Squires, and the (also defunct) Kentucky Colonels before he was selected by New York in the Colonels dispersal draft in 1976. His stay with the team would span the leap to the NBA and seven seasons in total, his last in the league. During his time suiting up for the Nets, van Breda Kolff wore only jersey Nos. 20 and 22 and put up 6.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego. To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the 23rd of 29 players who wore the No. 20 jersey for the Warriors. That player would be Golden State big man alum Ekpe Udoh. After ending his college career at Baylor, Udoh was picked up with the sixth overall selection of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Dubs. Bucks' Giannis obliterates Kristaps Porzingis' Latvia in EuroBasket tune-up

The post Bucks' Giannis obliterates Kristaps Porzingis' Latvia in EuroBasket tune-up appeared first on ClutchPoints. When he is healthy, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the most formidable players in the NBA. The Milwaukee Bucks forward has decisions to make, but he is committed to playing for his country. He and the Greek team are preparing for EuroBasket. Antetokounmpo sent a message to Atlanta Hawks center Kristaps Porzingis and the Latvian national team with a big game. Antetokounmpo made his summer debut on Wednesday for Greece against Porzingis and Latvia in a tune-up game. The former NBA champion showed no signs of rust in international play, putting up a double-double in his first game. The All-Star forward scored EuroBasket/status/1958245260309434385" rel="noopener">25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Greece won 104-86. Ahead of EuroBasket, Antetokounmpo might be the best player in the field. Even when he wasn't on the court, Antetokounmpo gave fans a viral moment. Throughout his professional career, the forward and his brothers are regular participants in international competition. This year's EuroBasket tournament is no exception. If Wednesday's dominant showing is any indication, Porzingis and the rest of Greece's opponents have their work cut out for them. Porzingis will get a good look at Antetokounmpo before clashing against him in the regular season in the NBA. The former Boston Celtics center found himself in a new home after a trade sent him to the Hawks. He and Atlanta are one of the main obstacles between Antetokounmpo and other championship. The Bucks forward said earlier this year that another title is his top priority. For now, though, Antetokounmpo has a chance to kill two birds with one stone. Despite his dominance, Greece has not won an international competition since Milwaukee's superstar became eligible to play for the national team. He appears on a mission to change that at EuroBasket. After his dominant performance against Latvia, the sky's the limit for him and the Greek team.
