According to Forbes' Real-Time Billionaires list, Mukesh Ambani's net worth has now reached $106.1 billion. Reliance Industries shares are growing after its quarterly results last Friday. After the announcement, Reliance's stock started rising and continued their gain till the date.

A day after the celebrations of the IPL victory of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) led to the death of 11 persons and injuries to 47 others following chaos and stampede at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium, most of the injured persons were discharged from hospitals. Except for six persons, who continue to be under treatment in various hospitals, all the others were sent home, doctors said on Thursday. The tragedy unfolded near the gates of the stadium, where over 2 lakh fans had gathered to mark RCB's historic first title win in 18 years. Overcrowding and narrow passageways led to a deadly rush. Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced a compensation of ₹10 lakh each to the families of the deceased and free treatment to the injured persons. The Karnataka High Court, after taking suo motu congnisance of the matter, issued notice to the State, and tasked it to file a detailed status report by June 10. The State government on Thursday admitted before the High Court of Karnataka that it did not prepare to handle such a huge crowd of around 2.5 lakh on June 4 during the event organised at M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru to celebrate RCB's victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which witnessed a stampede resulting in death of 11 persons and injuring 56 others. 'Narender surrendered to Adani, China': Congress ups ante with fresh jibe at PM The Congress on Thursday upped the ante with its 'Narender-surrender' jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that he 'surrendered' before billionaire Gautam Adani as well as to China. There was no immediate response from the government or the Adani Group over the Congress's accusations, but the business conglomerate has, in the past, rejected all such allegations against it. Congress leader Ajoy Kumar said the duo of Mr. Adani and Mr. Modi has left behind the Jai-Veeru duo from the film 'Sholay'. 'China's foreign minister, Wang Yi, recently gave a statement that his country would continue to stand by Pakistan in upholding its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national independence. China has supplied arms worth over $20 billion to Pakistan,' Mr. Kumar claimed. District authorities cited potential law and order concerns, stating that the activists' presence could inflame tensions in the region, where local tribals are opposing bauxite mining in the Sijimali Reserve. 'As soon as we got off the train in the early hours of Thursday, a large contingent of police personnel stopped us and said we were not allowed to leave the railway station. We are not criminals. We had come to Rayagada to speak about the importance of protecting the environment,' said Medha Patkar over phone from Rayagada. The Odisha Mining Corporation, a state-run PSU, was to supply the ore to Vedanta. In Rayagada, tensions have been simmering around the Sijimali deposit for the past couple of years. Tribals allege that the district police, under pressure from the company, have been using force to suppress the people's movement against mining. An order signed by the Rayagada District Collector has barred 24 activists from entering the district for two months starting June 4. They have also been prohibited from participating in any protests or sit-ins. The Eastern Ghats hill ranges that cut across Kalahandi, Rayagada, and Koraput districts are rich in bauxite. Apart from Vedanta, private players such as the Adani Group and the Aditya Birla Group are either exploring or have already established infrastructure to mine the mineral. Samruddhi expressway to be linked to Vadhvan port
Mumbai: Maharashtra will connect the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi expressway corridor to the upcoming greenfield Vadhvan port, slated to be the country's biggest such facility, via the Nashik highway, the upcoming Delhi-Mumbai greenfield expressway corridor, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway, the under-construction bullet train corridor, and the coastal road that is planned to be extended up to the port. Every 500 metres to a kilometre there is a groundwater recharge facility and ponds to hold rainwater," said chief minister Devendra Fadnavis soon after opening the 76 km last leg of Samruddhi between Igatpuri and Bhiwandi. The tunnel was built by Afcons. Fadnavis said over 3.3 million plantations were done using local species. "While building the road, 1,000 farm ponds were created. We are prepared to generate 200 MW of solar power and 22 amenity centres have been set up. A gas pipeline will also reach from Konkan to Nagpur, providing gas to people and industries. Around 1.1 million large trees and 2.2 million small plants will be planted, making the expressway the most eco-friendly project ever," he said, pointing out that the road will boost agriculture, tourism, and industry. The inspection lasted around 45 minutes, including the time taken for the journey between Igatpuri and Amane. On the way back, Fadnavis and Shinde swapped seats with the CM getting behind the wheel, while Pawar remained in the same seat. The newly-constructed third creek bridge near Vashi Sion-Panvel Highway was also inaugurated via video conferencing on the occasion. The earlier operational 625 km of the expressway stretch was used by nearly two crore vehicles in the last two years. The maximum speed limit on the expressway is 100 kmh in ghat sections and 120 kmh on flat terrain. The expressway traverses through 392 villages in 26 talukas across 10 districts in five revenue divisions. A smart integrated traffic management system (ITMS) will be installed on the expressway soon, the CM said, adding they gave the 'right of way' to the Gas Authority of India Ltd for laying the pipeline while making the access control road between Mumbai and Nagpur. Dy CM Ajit Pawar said many, including farmers from his party, opposed the Samruddhi project at the beginning, but when CM Fadnavis announced very attractive compensation, they all sided with the project and accepted money. "The project was estimated to cost Rs 55,500 crore but eventually went well above Rs 61,000 crore. Around 12 crore cement bags were used in the project. Fadnavis started the project when he was CM, and now it was inaugurated during his second term, and such continuity is rare in politics. And also let's not forget the contribution of Eknath Shinde," he said.
