Doctor Who star Pik-Sen Lim dead aged 80 as tributes paid to icon
Doctor Who actress Pik-Sen Lim has passed away aged 80.
Pik-Sen rose to fame as Chung Su-Lee in 1970s comedy Mind Your Language but was best known for her appearance in Doctor Who serial The Mind of Evil, The Mirror reports.
Sharing his heartbreak over her death, actor Daniel York Loh paid tribute on Instagram and wrote: "An iconic figure in so many ways, I'd seen her on TV in Mind Your Language amongst other things when I was a kid.'
"She was so affectionate, so witty, so brilliantly scabrous and absolutely honest about the rubbish this industry deals actors of our heritage - unlike a fair few others who actually try and cape it.
"We'll miss you so much but thank you, Pixi, for blessing our lives with your unique presence."
Pik-Sen was born in British Malaya, now Malaysia, moving to Britain at 16 to pursue a career in acting. She had been the daughter of the palm oil millionaire Lim Cheng-Teik and was nicknamed 'Pixie' at the convent school she attended in Penang.

Her family had not been supportive of her acting dream, but in the 60s she began acquiring roles in shows such as Emergency Ward 10, in which she played a nurse. During this time, she also met her husband, scriptwriter Don Houghton, who she married in 1968.
She went on to appear in Her husband's scripted Doctor Who serial The Mind of Evil in 1971. Pik-Sen also starred in three seasons of sitcom Mind Your Language, during which she spoke in an exaggerated Chinese accent.
Pik-Sen also starred in Albion Market (1985) and Night and Day (2003), Arabian Nights (2000), The Bill (2005) and even Little Britain as a side character alongside David Walliams and Matt Lucas.

Brooklyn Beckham and wife's feud with Beckhams deepen as couple buys £10.5m home
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have reportedly purchased a lavish mansion in Los Angeles, potentially making the Beckham feud worse Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, have reportedly splashed their cash on a £10.5million in Hollywood after previously renting their other home. The couple are currently embroiled in a reported feud with the rest of the Beckham clan and it's said the recent purchase could worsen their relations. The apparent feud seems to be ongoing as Brooklyn seemingly snubbed his dad David's huge achievement of earning a knighthood on the King's Birthday Honours List last weekend on his social media pages, as well as failing to publicly celebrate him on Father's Day. He was also nowhere to be seen for David's 50th birthday celebrations. READ MORE: 'Brilliant' air cooling fan that keeps homes cool during the heatwave slashed from £150 to £40 Brooklyn remained silent while his dad's dreams of a knighthood finally came true. Brooklyn's behaviour has reportedly rubbed his mum Victoria up the wrong way and she has been left 'furious' by his actions - or lack thereof. "The whole family is devastated by the current situation. The tension had been there for a while but no-one thought in a million years that it would turn this toxic," it was said. "Victoria can't fathom why Brooklyn hasn't been in touch to apologise. She's furious with him, but also heartbroken," an insider recently claimed to Heat Magazine. And now, things could get worse between the couple and his family after they purchased a new home in Los Angeles. Speaking about the five-bedroom, six-bathroom property, a source claimed to The Sun that Brooklyn feels like his life is now in America. 'As an influencer he can work from anywhere but Brooklyn believes he has more opportunities in LA. It will be a dagger to the heart for his parents," the source said. According to the insider, there were hopes his life in America wouldn't be "permanent", but "this house purchase quashes any last hopes." The Mirror have reached out to Brooklyn and Nicola's reps for comment. After David officially became a 'Sir', loving wife Victoria took to her social media page to pay tribute to her footballer husband with a sweet photo of her kissing him on the cheek. She wrote in the caption: "You've always been my knight in shining armour, but now it's official. Sir @davidbeckham!!! What an honour, I couldn't be prouder of you. "Your dedication to the things that matter most - your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family - has never wavered. The way you've touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us everyday. But above all else, I'm so, so proud to call you mine.I love you so much xxxx".

Huge Robert twist in Emmerdale as John's true nature is exposed
Tonight's episode of Emmerdale focused on just four characters: Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Recently in the soap, Aaron received a letter from Robert requesting a visit. The beloved character returned to the Dales a couple of weeks ago, but was sent back to prison as a result of breaking the rules of his bail conditions. Aaron wasn't going to see Robert, but changed his mind when Vic said he was in a bad way after being attacked. Unfortunately, the appointment was discovered by John, who then grew quietly angry when Aaron outright lied to him about where he'd be going. As Aaron left, John told Vic that he knows he's going to see Robert. While Vic tried to reassure a paranoid John at the flat, Aaron had sat down ready to see his ex. Robert attempted to get under Aaron's skin by reminding him of times they spent with Liv, and how missed she is. He really tried, but Aaron wasn't budging – he told Robert again that he's moved on, and wants to be with John. Aaron told his ex that if he loves him, he'll allow him to carry on with his life and leave him alone. It hurt his heart, but Robert agreed, and Aaron left. In the afternoon, as Aaron returned, John headed out, making his way to the prison to see Robert. This conversation between the two Sugdens was entirely different. Robert called John the 'unwanted rut' and said that he's trying to 'take his life'. He was clever with his words and wound John up so much, he said that Robert has no idea what he's capable of. John told Robert that he could 'take his life', but the definition of the phrase was, of course, completely different. By this point, John was raging. He was sat in his chair practically shaking with negative emotion, and Robert was watching this odd behaviour with deep concern. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Robert concluded that he's not going to let Aaron start again with John, because his distant brother is incredibly odd. As time ran out, Robert smugly told John that they'd see each other again soon. More Trending Robert will be released again in a couple of days time and immediately heads back to the village. When he arrives, he tells Aaron, John and Vic that he's sticking around and wants to reconnect with his family. This character is now standing in the way of John and his happy life with Aaron.
