‘Shabu' worth P13M seized in QC buy-bust
In a statement, the NCRPO said the suspect identified as 43-year-old 'Jessie' was nabbed after an undercover police officer was able to buy supposed illegal drugs worth P800,000 from him.
The operation was launched after authorities received intelligence reports linking Jessie to drug trafficking, according to the NCRPO.
Seized from the suspects were the following:
two kilograms of suspected shabu packed in Chinese tea bags
marked buy-bust money and high-denomination cash bills
bank transaction slips
personal IDs
mobile phone
The suspect is currently detained at Batasan Police Station and will be presented for inquest proceedings before the DOJ National Prosecution Service, the NCRPO said.
According to the Quezon City Police District, the suspect will face charges for the sale and possession of illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
"This major arrest was not instant. This was preceded by series of intel-driven operations targeting small-time drug personalities who shared valuable intelligence resulting from the identification and arrest of this high value individual," NCRPO chief Police Major General Anthony Aberin said. —AOL, GMA Integrated News

8 Filipinos rescued, 20 Chinese nabbed in suspected scam hubs in Pampanga
Eight Filipinos were rescued while 20 Chinese nationals were arrested in alleged scam hubs during two separate operations conducted at Clark Freeport Zone in Angeles City, Pampanga. Authorities first raided a compound of two villas where 17 Chinese nationals were nabbed, according to a report of GMA Integrated News' Bam Alegre on Unang Balita on Tuesday. Several equipment such as laptops and mobile phones were confiscated and are set to undergo digital forensic examination to gather more information on the operation of the suspects. Based on the chats seen on a computer, the suspects seemed to be running a love scam. Eight Filipinos were rescued in the operation. According to them, they are working inside the suspected scam hub for over eight hours in a day. 'May friend po na nagyayaya lang po. Maghahanap po ng client. 'Yun po, inaaral po namin kasi one week pa lang po kami rito,' one of the rescued Pinoys said. (There was a friend who was just inviting us. We are looking for a client. We are just studying it because we have only been here for a week.) 'Bago lang po talaga ako rito. Kakadating lang po namin kahapon. May inaantay po kaming tao. Hindi po namin alam basta ang sabi po mag-antay lang po kami dito,' another rescued Filipina said. (I am really new here. We just arrived yesterday. We are waiting for someone we don't know. They just said to wait here.) The 17 arrested Chinese nationals were not able to give a statement due to language barrier. Another residential property near the villas was also raided where three Chinese nationals were arrested due to alleged online fraud. The suspects were brought to Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City. Authorities are checking if these two suspected scam operations were connected. 2 kidnap victims rescued, 4 Chinese nabbed in Parañaque ops
Two kidnapping victims were rescued while four Chinese nationals who allegedly abducted them were arrested in an operation in Parañaque City on Saturday, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday. 'Apat na Chinese nationals ang ating naaresto na naman ng Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) na sangkot sa kasong kidnapping na naganap sa isang kilalang resort sa Paranaque City,' PNP chief Police General Nicolas Torre III said in a press briefing. The kidnapping happened after a 30-year-old Chinese national asked for assistance from the suspects for the foreign currency exchange and transfer of P150,000 to China. The victim initially released P100,000. Torre said the suspects convinced the victim to go with them to a resort casino to finalize the transaction but it led to a kidnapping. The suspects were allegedly forcing the victim to transfer an amount of 50,000 USDT from his cryptocurrency wallet. According to Torre, the victim asked the suspects for his phone to contact his family. The victim secretly reached out to another Chinese national who sought help from the local police through a 911 call. BI: 3 trafficking victims rescued at NAIA; 'overstaying' Korean to be deported
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) rescued three Filipino human trafficking victims supposedly bound for Spain and is currently processing the deportation of an overstaying South Korean. According to the bureau, the victims — two males and one female, who are in their late 30s and 40s — allegedly attempted to board an Emirates airline flight to Spain at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) when they were stopped by immigration personnel. The victims initially said they were working in a local tech company and were headed to Spain to attend a conference. However, immigration officers doubted their statement and referred them for secondary inspection. They then admitted that they are travelling to Spain for work and that they were recruited and that they paid over P300,000 to a contact they met on social media. "The said recruiter promised to provide them with all the necessary documentary requirements, and assistance to depart the country illegally," according to the statement posted by the bureau. Immigration Commissioner Joel Viado said they are investigating if any immigration personnel were involved in the incident. 'In line with the BI's one strike policy, we will not hesitate to take necessary legal action against those involved in human trafficking,' Viado said. The victims were turned over to the inter-agency council against trafficking for investigation and filing of cases against their recruiters. Overstaying foreigner nabbed Meanwhile, immigration authorities apprehended a South Korean man in Tubigon, Bohol over alleged overstaying. Suspect Park Yeungtae, 56, was arrested in his residence in Barangay Pooc Oriental in July 23 after allegedly failing to update his immigration status since 2016. His continued presence in the country was deemed in violation of the Philippine Immigration Act, according to the BI. 'Our officers continue to monitor and act on cases of foreign nationals who choose to overstay and disregard our immigration policies,' said Viado. 'The Bureau maintains zero tolerance for such violations. The law applies to everyone — no exceptions,' he added. Following his arrest, the foreigner was transported via ferry to Cebu City and temporarily held at the Mabolo Police Station. He is scheduled for transfer to the BI's facility in Manila. He will also undergo deportation proceedings and included in the BI's blacklist to prevent future re-entry into the country. 'The Philippines welcomes foreigners who respect our laws. But if you break them, we will take the necessary legal action,' said Viado. 'Overstaying is not a minor offense.
