Dorset estate among England's best National Trust sites

Kingston Lacy, which is located near Wimborne, was featured in a list from The Telegraph.
Explaining why they created the article, the publication wrote: "The Trust may not always be universally popular, but just imagine life without it for a second, and think about how much of our patrimony we would have lost to demolition, development or just plain passage of time.
"As it is, we can choose to visit everything from industrial heritage to stately homes, with large chunks of landscape thrown in, usually with a cup of tea and a scone available somewhere in the mix."
The full list of England's best National Trust properties can be found on The Telegraph website here.
Why is Kingston Lacy among England's best National Trust properties?
Kingston Lacy was praised for its huge collection of paintings, books and objects, which gave it great historical significance.
Alongside that, the estate has a Japanese garden among its features, which allows for plenty of areas for great walks.
They wrote: "Exoticism is the raison d'etre of Kingston Lacy, owned for centuries by the Bankes family, some of whose wealth came from slave plantations.
"The Philae obelisk, one of a pair from Aswan and part of a huge Egyptian collection, faces the house.
"The display of top-quality paintings, objects and books was choreographed remotely by William John Bankes, exiled to Venice for his homosexuality in the mid-19th century.
"The huge estate includes a Japanese garden and Camellia Walk."
On its National Trust website, Kingston Lacy is described as an "opulent" home which was "built to resemble a Venetian Palace".
It adds: "Enjoy a summer picnic on the south lawn, or let little visitors run wild in the two play areas.
"Wander through the Japanese Garden to the Kitchen Garden, now supplying produce to the cafe.
"Or explore the vast 8,500 acres of estate, featuring Iron Age hill forts, colourful heathland, water meadows and the world's oldest pedigree herd of Red Ruby Devon cattle."
Kingston Lacy has also been well-received by visitors, earning a 4.4/5 rating on Tripadvisor from 2,063 reviews.
One person wrote: "Entering the house we were extremely impressed with the willingness of the room attendants and their wealth of knowledge about not only the venue but each individual room and the contents.
"It was pleasantly surprising to be greeted and informed in as little or as much depth of history as you wanted.
"Leaving the house we wandered around the stunning grounds and in particular the Japanese gardens which were lovely. Highly recommend this property more so because the rooms contain the original furniture and fittings."

Another shared: "The house is beautiful and in a lovely setting. The big glass windows you first see as you climb the stairs were a great feature you don't often see in historic properties allowing a great view across the garden.
"Inside there were a number of surprises with lots of art and quirky features which made each room interesting.
"Outside the Japanese garden was pretty as was the walk round to the kitchen garden which, whilst spacious, had limited planting within it but is hopefully expanding with young fruit trees present."

The UK's best hidden gem tourist attraction revealed

Looking to escape tourist traps in the UK this summer? A new study has unearthed the country's best hidden gems for Brits and created a hotlist of underrated landmarks. The research looked at the number of reviews, the tourist traffic per landmark and the cost of public transport to create the list. So, where are the UK's best hidden gems? According to the study, the Wasdale Emerald Pool in Cumbria is the country's best hidden gem. Sometimes known as the 'Fairy Pool', the picturesque spot is formed by several small waterfalls and has a bright green colour. Next on the list are the Birmingham Back to Backs. A museum operated by The National Trust, the Back to Backs are the city's last surviving back-to-back houses. Built around a communal courtyard, the houses were occupied from around 1840 right through until the 1970s. As they explore the historic houses, tourists will get a glimpse into what it was like to live there through the decades. The Back to Backs are only accessible via a guided tour so tourists will need to book their tickets in advance. The third best hidden gem in the UK is Freshwater West Beach in Pembrokeshire in Wales. Although the beach is quite popular with surfers, it's not nearly as well-known as other beaches in the area with just 234 reviews on Tripadvisor. Tulleys Farm in Crawley just misses out on a spot on the podium, ranking as the UK's fourth-best hidden gem. The family farm in West Sussex has a pumpkin picking patch, an annual Christmas Lights festival and escape rooms for visitors. Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire rounds out the top five. A National Trust property, the Tudor Manor is known for its 'quirky character'. The National Trust reveals: 'Seeing the tumbling architecture of Little Moreton Hall for the first time, engineers in 1990 could not believe their eyes. 'This timber-framed building, curled around with a scenic moat, has defied logic for over 500 years.' Bletchley Park in Milton Keynes, the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh and Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire are also among the country's top 10 hidden gems. Corin Camenisch, marketing and growth leader at SumUp, which commissioned the research, says: 'We created this ranking to spotlight some of the UK's hidden gems, places that are often overlooked in favour of the usual tourist spots like the London Eye or Buckingham Palace. 'By highlighting these underrated hotspots, we're hoping to show people spots they might not know about and spread the benefits of local tourism. 'These hidden gems often rely on tourism to sustain their operations, and by shining a light on them, we're hoping to ensure that local businesses can benefit from a steady flow of visitors, which is crucial for their growth and long-term success.'

Bianca Censori's sister joins Kanye's crew after denying she's dating his pal

Bianca Censori's younger sister, Angelina, has been spending time with her sibling and Kanye West in Japan after holidaying with the couple in Spain where Bianca caused quite a stir Bianca Censori's sister, Angelina, is officially part of Kanye West's crew after joining the rapper as he jet-sets around the world. Bianca, 30, has sent shockwaves through the showbiz industry since hooking up with Kanye, 48, sporting her barely-there outfits - and now Angelina has been thrust into the spotlight too. After hanging out with Kanye and his gang in Spain last month, where Bianca dropped jaws flashing her nipples in another eye-popping outfit, 20-year-old Angelina is travelling with the rapper's entourage in Japan. The Aussie model took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a series of photos of their latest trip, including images from popular chain restaurant WAGYUMAFIA and snaps of the Japanese skyline. ‌ Kanye West bizarrely 'changes name again' four years after complete rebrand ‌ Meanwhile, a photo of Kanye posing in designer vintage store Amore in Japan also emerged online. The Jesus Walks star sported a plain black hooded jumper with the hood pulled over his head for the shopping trip as he posed without cracking a smile. A second image also emerged showing graffiti scrawled on a wall that read: 'Ye is GOD,' while a third showed the name of Kanye and ex-wife Kim Kardashian's eldest child North West. During her trip with the controversial rapper, Angelina rubbished rumours she was dating Kanye business partner, Sneako. The whispers came after she shared a series of photos from their Mallorca trip, which included Sneako posing for the camera at a luxury waterfront property Kanye was believed to be staying in while Angelina stunned in a silver string bikini. ‌ Fans flocked to social media, suggesting Angelina and Sneako were more than just friends. However, the model shut down any romance rumours by writing on X: "We are not dating." It comes after Bianca 'horrified' locals in Spain when she paraded through the quiet streets of Mallorca in her bra and knickers. ‌ Witnesses say locals were left horrified by Bianca's outfit choice for their market tour, with one even heard asking if that was her "real nipple" as she bared all in her the sheer bra. "People were horrified. They could be heard asking 'is that her real nipple?' as they walked by. Kanye was standing back a little, letting her browse the market," a witness told ‌ Bianca might have been hit by backlash, but women have been allowed to go topless in some areas of Spain since 2020. Under Catalan equality law, women can sunbathe topless in public places without fear of arrest and authorities can be fined a huge £430,000 if they prevent women from being able to go topless. However, while she didn't break any laws, people were left fuming by the Aussie's outfit choice. "Why hasn't this woman been arrested for indecency yet!!!?' one person wrote on X, with another adding: "We have literally seen it all, even when we didn't want to,' another said, while a third wrote: 'So disrespectful to the country and their modest views." Another fumed: "How do they get away with this nudity? If any other non-celeb tried it, they would be arrested."
