WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — Chase Lowe scored 15 points, including the game-winning layup with 4.6 seconds remaining, and William & Mary beat Hofstra 61-60 on Thursday night.
The Tribe's Matteus Case forced a turnover to end it.
Lowe shot 6 of 7 from the field and 3 for 7 from the line for the Tribe (15-11, 9-4 Coastal Athletic Association). Gabe Dorsey scored 14 points and added six rebounds. Malachi Ndur went finished with nine points.
Cruz Davis led the Pride (12-14, 4-9) in scoring, finishing with 22 points. TJ Gadsden added eight points for Hofstra. Jean Aranguren also had seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Dorsey scored 11 points in the first half and William & Mary went into the break trailing 34-33.

(AP) — Joaquin Niemann of Chile won LIV Golf Virginia on Sunday for his fourth victory in the Saudi-funded tour's first eight events of the season, closing with an 8-under 63 to beat Graeme McDowell and Anirban Lahiri by a stroke. Niemann broke out of a logjam at the top with birdies on Nos. 14-17 and parred the par-4 18th to finish at 15-under 198 at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. The 26-year-old Niemann also won this year in Australia, Singapore and Mexico. He has six career LIV victories after winning twice on the PGA Tour. 'Pretty cool to be in this place, in this position right now,' Niemann said. 'I'm pretty thankful.' McDowell shot 66, and second-round leader Lahiri had a 68. Bryson DeChambeau, preparing for his U.S. Open title defense at Oakmont, had a 65 to tie for fourth with Phil Mickelson (65) and Bubba Watson (67) at 13 under. Jon Rahm was 10 under after a 68. DeChambeau and Lahiri led the Crushers to their second straight team title and record eighth overall, with Paul Casey and Charles Howell III completing the lineup. 'We're a beast of a team,' DeChambeau said, Mickelson holed a backward chip off a steep slope in heavy greenside rough for a birdie late in his round. 'One of my better ones,' Mickelson said. Ronaldo scored to help Portugal draw level with Spain 2-2 in the final, then watched as his teammates won the penalty shootout 5-3. Advertisement 'I have many titles with my clubs, but nothing is better than winning for Portugal,' Ronaldo said. 'These are tears. It's mission accomplished and so much joy.' The 40-year-old Ronaldo had been the first to run out onto the field for the pre-game warmup, sparking a huge roar from the Portugal supporters, including many wearing jerseys emblazoned with his name. His appearance prompted many supporters to pull out their cell phones to record the superstar while they could still see him in action. Ronaldo conceded Saturday that he won't be able to play forever. That was three days after he helped Portugal to its first win over Germany for 25 years, scoring the winner for a 2-1 victory in the Nations League semifinals. Nuno Mendes fired Portugal level after Martin Zubimendi opened the scoring for Spain. Then Mikel Oyarzabal put Spain ahead 2-1 at the break. But Ronaldo was in the right place at the right time to fire home the equalizer from Mendes' deflected cross in the 61st, setting off joyous scenes among his faithful fans. It was Ronaldo's 138th goal for Portugal. Nobody has ever scored more for their country. Ronaldo kept trying in what was his record-extending 221st appearance for the country, but eventually had to go off exhausted in the 88th to standing ovations from fans and a hug from coach Roberto Martínez. 'I had already felt it during the warmup, I had been feeling it for some time, but for the national team, if I had to break my leg, I would have broken it,' Ronaldo said. Maxwell's grand slam highlights Arkansas super regional win eliminating defending champ Vols 11-4
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Logan Maxwell had three hits, including a game-breaking grand slam, and Arkansas defeated defending national champion Tennessee 11-4 on Sunday to sweep the best-of-three Fayetteville Super Regional and advance to the College World Series for the 12th time. The Razorbacks had a 3-1 lead with two outs in the fourth inning when Maxwell hit a 1-2 pitch over the left-field wall. That was more than enough for third-seeded Arkansas to advance to Omaha, Nebraska. Arkansas (47-13) will face the winner of the Baton Rouge Super Regional between LSU and West Virginia. Tennessee (46-18), the No. 14 overall seed, only had two hits when they lost to their SEC rivals 4-3 on Saturday. The Vols almost became just the third team from their conference to finish a super regional with fewer than 10 total hits. With two hits in the eighth and two in the ninth, including a two-run home run by pinch hitter Jay Abernathy, they finished with eight. Charles Davalan had a two-run homer in the third for Arkansas. Tennessee got one back in the bottom of the inning, but Maxwell's big bash broke it open in the fourth. Tennessee pitchers walked four batters, all in the seventh inning, including two with the bases loaded to fall behind 10-1.
