A brand new adventure park just a stone's throw from Dublin is set to open next month.
Zipit Forest Adventures is gearing up to launch its latest site in Djouce, Co Wicklow. The adventure park is all set for its grand opening on Friday, July 18 and, in an exciting offer for early birds, any bookings made in June will get a cheeky 10% discount if it's your first time booking.

Ryan Tubridy and fiancée Dr Clare Kambamettu dazzle at sun-soaked Wimbledon

More info Ryan Tubridy has shared stunning snapshots from his trip to Wimbledon with fiancée Dr Clare Kambamettu. The couple enjoyed the sunshine and the famous Pimms drinks at the London tennis tournament, and dressed up for the occasion. The radio presenter looked dapper in a blue suit jacket with white trousers, while Dr Clare shone in a simple khaki dress. Her beautiful engagement ring was also visible as she held up her glass of Pimms, with the diamond sparking in the sunlight. The broadcaster said that he has grown up watching the wold-renowned tournament. "I've been watching this event since I was a young boy and love the sights and sounds of the tournament. I was weaned on the likes of John McEnroe, Jimmy Connors, Ivan Lendl and Boris Becker," he penned in his Mail on Sunday column. "It was an era of cranky superstars and Robinson's orange cordial and linesmen/women who risked their lives as they crouched and waited for a ball to come towards them at 120mph." They were not the only Irish celebrities present for the games, with Angela Scanlon and Eve Hewson making an appearance. Ryan and his bride-to-be became engaged in June, when he got down on one knee during a staycation in the West of Ireland. Speaking on the radio, he said: "I have a little bit of news that I've been keeping to myself - to ourselves. "I'm very, very, very happy to confirm I did get engaged to my partner Clare in the West of Ireland on Thursday evening. It is a very beautiful feeling,. We were surrounded by gorgeous people who we didn't know, strangers in the hotel, and people who were working around the place. I got a beautiful ring organised and the weather was gorgeous." Ryan kept the rest of the details under wraps for now, until he can tell his family, but he added that the "world feels lighter" for him. The broadcaster continued: "And it's just the accumulation of a lot of lovely things happening, and I just decided now is the time. More to follow in terms of details and all the rest of it. And by the more to follow, I mean I'll tell my family first. "It's a very exciting time to be alive. I'm a very, very lucky man, and I think it's one of those beautiful moments where the world feels lighter." Woman notices something seriously Irish about Ryanair's airline name

More info Dublin-based Ryanair has hilariously shared "breaking news" on social media after an X user came to an unexpected realisation about the airline's name. Samantha Louise shared her shock in a tweet alongside a snap of a Ryanair plane's tail, which prompted to the company to issue their response on Wednesday (July 9). "It was in this moment I realised that Ryanair backwards is Ryanair in an Irish accent... mind blown!" she announced. Ryanair swiftly retweeted her post, simply penning, "breaking news" in a caption. It lead to numerous other X users confessing that it had only just dawned on them too. "Also, next time someone says 'Ryanair', you'll definitely hear it in an Irish accent now," one person quipped in reply. "No going back!" Another was stunned: "I don't think I'll ever be the same again. How have I not noticed this? How has no one noticed this?" A third person added: "Bit of a Kerry accent off it if you say it slow enough." While a fourth declared: "Nahhhh there's no way that's intentional." And a fifth X user simply stated: "This is good!" Ryanair's name is actually derived from one of its founders, Tony Ryan. He was an Irish businessman who co-founded the airline in 1984 along with Christopher Ryan (no relation) and Liam Lonergan. The fact that Ryanair sounds similar when spelled backwards is purely a coincidence – but it's made many of us laugh either way!
