At 98 years old, the Schwartz is still with Mel Brooks.
According to Variety, the beloved filmmaker is returning to reprise the role of Yogurt, the wise alien sage who was able to not only teach Bill Pullman's Lone Starr about the ways of the Schwartz in "Spaceballs", but was also able to peddle some premium "Spaceballs" merchandise.

Brooks is returning to play Yogurt for "Spaceballs 2", though this time he'll just be in front of the camera. "Will & Harper" director Josh Greenbaum is directing the sequel, with a script from Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Josh Gad.

Any kind of story details are being kept tightly under wraps, but an early logline for "Spaceballs 2" playfully calls it "A Non-Prequel Non-Reboot Sequel Part Two but with Reboot Elements Franchise Expansion Film."
There is no firm release date for "Spaceballs 2" yet, but it is set to bow sometime in 2027.
What is 'Spaceballs'?
"Spaceballs" is a sci-fi parody largely poking fun at "Star Wars", with a few jokes here and there aimed at other spacefaring properties like "Alien" and "Star Trek".
Directed by Mel Brooks, 1987's "Spaceballs" starred Bill Pullman as the hero Lone Starr, John Candy as his sidekick Barf, Daphne Zuniga as Princess Vespa, Rick Moranis as the villain Lord Dark Helmet, and Brooks as both President Skroob and Yogurt.
As opposed to "The Force," in the universe of "Spaceballs", heroes and villains like Lone Starr and Dark Helmet use a power called "The Schwartz".
Who Else Is Returning for 'Spaceballs 2'?
One of the most surprising names attached to the "Spaceballs" sequel is that of Rick Moranis. Deadline confirms that Moranis is coming out of a long hiatus to reprise the role of Dark Helmet for "Spaceballs 2".
Dark Helmet is the villain of the first "Spaceballs" and a clear send-up of the iconic "Star Wars" bad guy, Darth Vader.
Bill Pullman is also returning to reprise the role of Lone Starr.
Josh Gad and Keke Palmer will also star in the sequel, but details on their parts have yet to be revealed.
Is There a Trailer for 'Spaceballs 2'?
While there is no full trailer for "Spaceballs 2", there is a hilarious teaser for the film that is a send up of the famous "Star Wars" opening crawl.

Walmart Restocked LEGO Star Wars The Dark Falcon at an All-Time Low While Amazon Sits Empty

Spaceships never really go out of style, and LEGO has a way of turning a table into a tiny hangar. The LEGO Star Wars The Dark Falcon Building Set lands right in that sweet spot. It looks fierce when finished, sure, but the best part might be the build itself, that clicky rhythm of brick to brick while everyone calls dibs on favorite parts. You clear a little space, open a couple of bags, and suddenly the evening has a plan. Head over to Walmart to get the LEGO Star Wars The Dark Falcon Building Set for just $145, down from its usual price of $180. That's a discount of $35 and 19% off. See at Walmart This kit is equal parts play and display. Eight minifigures set the stage right away, so a quick skirmish can break out before bag two is even finished. Heroes, villains, a few surprises, all ready to crowd the cockpit or argue near the ramp like it is a scene straight out of a Saturday morning rewatch. Panels lift, little spaces open, and there is room to tuck characters inside for the next plot twist. When quiet returns, the ship parks on a shelf and looks like it belongs there, all angles and attitude. The build moves at an easy pace. Numbered bags keep chaos at bay, the booklet gives clear steps, and the shape of the ship shows up faster than you expect. One person can power through while the snacks disappear, or you can tag team it and trade the instructions back and forth. There will be at least one brick that tries to escape under the couch. That is part of the charm. Thankfully, those tiny extra pieces in the box have your back. Finished, the Dark Falcon has that sturdy feel that invites swooshing. You can fly it down a hallway, skim a coffee table canyon, and return it to base without pieces raining down. Textured details catch light nicely, which gives the hull a lived in look even before you start making spaceship sounds. Kids get a new flagship for the toy box. Grown fans get a centerpiece that draws curious questions from anyone who walks by. Gift wise, it is a crowd pleaser. Big enough to feel special, manageable enough to complete over a weekend, and fun to revisit when the urge to re-stage a scene hits. The LEGO Star Wars The Dark Falcon Building Set is still available for $145 at Walmart, down from the regular $180 price. See at Walmart

Neither have made public statements about their separation, but Ashley Biden shared a series of veiled Instagram stories that appeared to address the news. The now-expired posts included one of her walking through a park with a thumbs up with the song "Freedom" by Beyoncé playing. She also posted a quote stating: "New life, new beginnings means new boundaries. New ways of being that won't look or sound like they did before," accompanied by the song "Freedom Time" by Lauryn Hill. The couple resided in Philadelphia and had no children. The 44-year-old married the plastic surgeon and otolaryngologist Krein in 2012 after two years of dating. The couple met through Ashley Biden's older brother Beau, who passed away from glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, in 2015. What People Are Saying Ashley Biden said about her wedding while introducing her father at the 2024 Democratic National Convention: "I had my wedding reception in my parents' backyard. At the time, my dad was vice president, but he was also that dad who literally set up the entire reception. He was riding around in his John Deere 4-wheeler, fixing the place settings, arranging the plants, and by the way, he was very emotional." What Happens Next Given her previous private approach to her personal life, it is likely Ashley Biden will not comment publicly about the end of her marriage.

Woman Brings Home 'Stupidest Purchase' and Shows Cat—Has Instant Regret

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A woman who bought a "creepy" cat statue captured the moment her own pet cat met the new member of the family for the first time, with unexpected results. The woman, 32 and from Texas, who goes by Kitty, recently lost her cat, Mia, who she described to Newsweek as a "once in a lifetime cat." "She was affectionate, friendly, confident and all she wanted was to live in your skin," she said. As Mia recently passed away, Kitty found herself looking through old photos and videos of the gorgeous tortoiseshell cat, and rediscovered one from 11 years ago—which she decided to share with people on TikTok. At the time, Kitty had found a bizarre-looking cat lawn ornament at a department store, which she aptly named "SpookyCat," and "stuck googly eyes on it cause it has dead eyes." After taking SpookyCat home, she called Mia into the room to see what she would make of it—and as she put it to Newsweek, "I did not think she would react like that." In the video, posted to Kitty's TikTok @ifight4rumplegoocher on August 9 and described in a caption as "Mia meeting the stupidest purchase I've ever made," Kitty first shows off the hunched-over lawn ornament, complete with googly eyes. And as she calls Mia, the cat instantly comes running—only to freeze stock-still, in the same hunched-over position as the lawn ornament. Kitty starts giggling, as Mia remains frozen, not moving a muscle, her ears flat on her head and rump stuck up into the sky. SpookyCat the statue, and Mia's reaction. SpookyCat the statue, and Mia's reaction. TikTok @ifight4rumplegoocher Kitty moves to show Mia's face as the cat begins flicking her tail in frustration, showing Mia's face, which is wide-eyed, her pupils dilated. She finishes the video by showing Mia that SpookyCat isn't real, and apologizing: "I'm sorry, I'm done." Mia showed classic cat body language signs that she was not happy: eyes open with wide pupils, lip licking, puffed up fur, flattened back ears and slow, guarded movement are all signs of a stressed cat, according to Cats Protection. However, Kitty told Newsweek: "I figured she'd be concerned or curious. It was so unexpected. She never reacted like that to anything before or after!" Mia puffs up her body to look intimidating, as the googly-eyed statue stares back at her. Mia puffs up her body to look intimidating, as the googly-eyed statue stares back at her. TikTok @ifight4rumplegoocher And as some people in the comments complained it was cruel to do this, and that Mia was clearly stressed out, Kitty added in the caption that she did "not expect her to react this intensely." "I promise you I didn't torment her or do this regularly," she wrote, adding that Mia was "very deeply loved and lived a good life." Kitty's video exploded in popularity, racking up more than 4.4 million viewed and close to 1 million likes, as one described it as "the cat equivalent of us meeting a wendigo pretty much." Another joked: "Congrats! Now you have two cat statues," while one laughed at Mia's "immediate pause." And one, sharing their condolences after Mia's death, wrote: "She brought joy to many with this vid. It was a precious moment captured."
