During Saturday night's broadcast, officials suddenly announced that Barber was "medically unfit" to compete.
The flyweight bout was cancelled just minutes before the fighters were due to walk to the Octagon.
Blanchfield told ESPN: "We were told six minutes to the walkout.
"We already warmed up, I had pads, I was warming up with my training partner. I was literally ready to go.

"I feel like I could already smell the cage. I was ready, and then we just got the news."

The 27-year-old was transported to a Las Vegas hospital for medical evaluation.
But the exact cause of her medical issue has yet to be confirmed by the UFC.

Barber missed weight for the fight on Friday by just half a pound.
She entered the bout on a six-fight win streak but has stepped into the Octagon just once since June 2023.

Barber has not fought in over a year due to injury and an illness that hospitalized her for 11 days.
ESPN's broadcast was left in chaos after the Colorado native failed to emerge for her walk-on.
The UFC broadcast played the pre-main event video package only for no fighters to emerge.
After half a minute of silence, commentator Brendan Fitzgerald informed fans Barber was "not prepared to walk."
He added: "I'm still getting details but all I know is that she is not walking to the Octagon right now.
"This is truly unprecedented and for me, for a main event prepared to make the introductions and she's not there to walk right now."
