Jeff Bezos & Lauren Sanchez Are Reportedly 'Livid' About One Star's Ruthless Criticism of Their Wedding
According to a June 30 report from famed celebrity reporter Rob Shuter, Bezos was fuming when he learned what Charlize Theron said about his decadent Venice wedding, while Sanchez had to be 'talked down' from firing off against the South African actress on Instagram.

Per Shuter, the newlyweds have now banned Theron from attending their future events, including Blue Origin launches, and any future charity galas sponsored by the couple. Shuter's source thinks Theron will be just fine without invites from the duo.
On June 28, Mad Max actress poked fun at Bezos and Sanchez while hosting the fifth annual Block Party for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project on Saturday, telling attendees, 'I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding.'
'But that's OK because they suck and we're cool,' Theron added, per The Hollywood Reporter. Theron then called attention to the world's political crises, a reality that has caused many to criticize Bezos and Sanchez for their tone-deaf event, which was attended by President Donald Trump's daughter, Ivanka.
'Here in Los Angeles, in the US and across the globe, we're moving backwards fast,' Theron said. 'Immigration policy has destroyed the lives of families, not criminals; women's rights are becoming less and less every day; queer and trans lives are increasingly being erased; and gender-based violence is on the rise.'
She joined a list of other A-listers who lined up to criticize the couple, whose wedding sparked anti-capitalist protests in Venice. Katie Couric shared her distaste for Sanchez's wedding dress in a since-deleted Instagram comment, which reportedly read, 'Welcome to the eighties — when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently tacky is back.'
Outspoken comedian Rosie O'Donnell also had some thoughts to share in a June 29 Substack post. 'The BEZOS wedding, it turned my stomach. Seeing all these billionaires gathering in the gross excess of it all,' O'Donnell wrote. 'Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos? Really — how is that possible? He treats his employees with disdain. By any metric he is not a nice man.'
Others, like Mia Farrow and Olivia Munn, turned their attention towards Bezos' ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, praising her for her philanthropy in the years since her expensive divorce from the Blue Origin founder.
Bezos and Sanchez have not commented on the backlash against their wedding.Best of SheKnows

House Republicans vote to rename Kennedy Center opera house after Melania Trump
Congressional Republicans are moving forward with a plan to rename the Kennedy Center opera house after Melania Trump. Idaho Rep. Mike Simpson added an amendment to the Interior-Environment spending bill that most of the center's funding for the 2026 fiscal year would be contingent on changing the name to the 'First Lady Melania Trump Opera House.' The Appropriations Committee voted 33-25 to approve the amendment. The bill will still need to go to a vote in the House and pass in the Senate before a Sept. 30 deadline. 'As Chairman of the House Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Appropriations Subcommittee — which oversees federal funding for capital repairs and operations and maintenance at the Kennedy Center — I am proud to honor (Melania Trump's) support and commitment in promoting the arts and humanities,' Simpson said in a statement. ADVERTISEMENT President Trump took over as the center's chair in February, ousting longtime board members and installing allies on the board and as trustees. The Trumps both attended the opening night performance of 'Les Misérables' at the Kennedy Center last month, where they were met by boos from the audience. The opera house, the second-largest venue at the Kennedy Center, is the site of the annual Kennedy Center Honors, the nation's highest award for lifetime achievement in the arts. The Trumps did not attend the Kennedy Center Honors during his first term. _____
