Iran has signaled a willingness to end hostilities with Israel and resume nuclear talks, and is sending messages via Arab intermediaries, a report has claimed.
Amid its escalating conflict with Israel, Iran has reportedly been signalling that it seeks an end to hostilities and resumption of talks over its nuclear programs.
Quoting Middle Eastern and European officials, The Wall Street Journal claimed that Iran has been sending messages to Israel and the United States via Arab intermediaries.
Tehran also told Arab officials it would be open to returning to the negotiating table as long as the United States does not join the attack, the report quoted officials as saying.
Iran also passed messages to Israel saying it is in the interest of both sides to keep the violence contained, according to the report.
Meanwhile, European foreign ministers told their Iranian counterpart in a call on Monday to return to nuclear negotiations with the United States and refrain from escalating conflict with Israel, to which Iran's foreign minister said Tehran's priority was to confront Israel for now, Reuters quoted a French diplomatic source.
Israel launched what it called 'Operation Rising Lion' against Iran's nuclear facilities in the early hours of June 13, just two days before US and Iranian negotiators were due to resume talks to forge a new deal on Iran's nuclear programme.
Israel called it a preemptive strike designed to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
Iran has denied plans to develop such weapons and retaliated by launching counterstrikes on Israel.
France, Britain and Germany, known as the E3, are party to the 2015 nuclear accord with Iran, which aimed to curb Iran's nuclear programme in return for sanctions lifting.
Last week, they put forward a resolution that was approved by the board of governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, a UN watchdog, which declared Iran in breach of its nuclear non-proliferation obligations.

India evacuates its students out of Tehran, urges other Indians to move out as well

New Delhi, June 17 (UNI) Amid the increased bombardment by Israel, India said today it has moved Indian students out of the Iranian capital, and advised other Indians who can to move out of the city as well. In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said: 'Indian students in Tehran have been moved out of the city for reasons of safety, through arrangements made by the Embassy. 'Other residents who are self sufficient in terms of transport have also been advised to move out of the city in view of the developing situation. Giorgia Meloni's ‘secret talk' with Emmanuel Macron at G7 summit goes viral, starts meme fest on social media

Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni was caught on camera having a 'secret talk' with French President Emmanuel Macron during the G7 Summit in Canada. The two top leaders can be seen engaging in a whisper as they seemingly talk about a serious issue. In the viral video, Macron can be seen covering his mouth with his hand while he talked to Meloni. A few seconds later, the Italian PM showed him a thumbs up without saying anything else. This year's G7 summit is full of combustible tensions. US President Donald Trump already has hit several dozen nations with severe tariffs that risk a global economic slowdown. There is little progress on settling the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, and now the new conflict between Israel and Iran. Therefore, the leaders could have been talking about absolutely anything. The Internet, however, broke into a meme fest, featuring several 'Melodi' memes. 'Melodi' memes are based on Meloni's camaraderie with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during international events and bilateral meetings. Netizens compared Macron to the lady next door and said he has 'pados ki aunty vibes.' A social media user quipped: 'Me and my office bestie at work meetings.' 'PM Modi will be jealous of you guys,' claimed another user. Another user said, 'Tabi yeh biwi se tapad khatta hai,' referring to the recent slap gate incident between Macron and his wife. Several users also tried guessing about what they were talked about. 'Le Macron-Modi ji kisi ko ph pe babu bol rhe the,' a user said. A few users claimed that Macron is informing Meloni about PM Modi's arrival. 'He may be telling tomorrow modi will come u should not speak with him do promise... Meloni be pakka,' a user said. 'Are wo to devar ji hai, bata rahe hai bhabhi ko ki bade bhaiya Delhi se nikal chuke hai,' another added. Understanding the severity of the G7 summit, a user said, 'He said, Deal Maker Donald Trump wants Deal, but we have to say Big No.'
