Millie Bobby Brown and husband Jake Bongiovi announce surprise personal news
Millie Bobby Brown and husband Jake Bongiovi have stunned fans by announcing the arrival of their first child, a baby girl. The Stranger Things star, 21, and the son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, 23, who married in a lavish wedding in Italy May last year, released a joint statement on Instagram revealing they were new parents to a daughter via adoption. 'This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,' their statement read. 'We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.' The couple signed off the message with, 'And then there were 3. Love Millie and Jake Bongiovi.' Brown and Bongiovi didn't disclose their daughter's name. The former child star switched off the comment section of the post, as fans flooded other avenues of social media congratulating the pair. 'Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi are setting a good example for rich young couples. I love this! Adoption is so important,' one fan wrote. 'Adoption love stories always warm the heart,' another wrote. 'I love that they're taking the adoption route i wish more young couple will do this too... happy for them,' a third shared. The UK actress and Bongiovi, a model, began dating in 2021, before announcing their engagement two years later. The couple are based in Georgia in the US. Just months ago, Brown opened up about wanting to be a young mum on the SmartLess podcast. 'My mum actually had her first child at 21, and my dad was 19. This has been my thing since before I met Jake,' said in March. 'I wanted to be a mum just like the way my mum was to me. 'Of course, I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it's so important to start a family for me, personally.' Brown first shot to fame aged 12 playing the character Eleven in the smash hit Netflix series. The young star has frequently opened up over her discomfort at being sexualised in her teens as she ventured into adulthood. On her 16th birthday, she shared a statement, 'There are moments I get frustrated from the inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualisation and unnecessary insults that have ultimately resulted in pain and insecurity for me.' She has continued to speak out about negative commentary surrounding her evolving appearance. Earlier this year, Brown shared a video statement slamming media coverage about her looks as 'bullying'. 'I started in this industry when I was 10 years old. I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can't seem to grow with me,' she said. 'Disillusioned people can't handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not theirs. 'I refuse to apologise for growing up. I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can't handle seeing a girl become a woman. 'I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself.'

Ferivia owner Gary Brook will be cheering from Birdsville as promising filly takes next step towards Group 1 Thousand Guineas
The Brook family who hail from Birdsville will be at the iconic desert track when their latest good horse, exciting three-year-old filly Ferivia, takes her next step towards a potential Group 1 Thousand Guineas onslaught. Phillip Stokes -trained Ferivia, who races in the emerald green and white colours of the Brook family’s “Saddlers Knifeâ€ syndicate, won in slashing fashion when scoring the Group 3 Quezette Stakes at Caulfield last Saturday. Gary Brook, the vice-president of the Birdsville Race Club, said the filly’s next race is set to be in the Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes at Moonee Valley on September 6. It’s the same day as the Birdsville Cup, the famed outback race that the Brook family has won seven times including twice in recent years with Neodium (2023 and 2024). “To be honest, it was intended that Ferivia was going to go to the paddock after last Saturday’s run,â€ Brook said. “But she has pulled up really well and the Thousand Guineas is certainly not out of the question. “She will go next to the Atlantic Jewel at Moonee Valley on Birdsville Cup day. “We won’t be going to that race in Melbourne, we have got important things to do in Birdsville. “We will be at Birdsville cheering very loudly.â€ Ferivia splits the middle and wins the Quezette! @LNeindorf grabs a Group 3 at Caulfield after making the move back to MelbourneðŸ' @pstokesracing — 7HorseRacing ðŸŽ (@7horseracing) August 16, 2025 The Brook family has had plenty of good horses over the years and has also been the driving force behind the Birdsville Cup, with Gary’s dad David the president of the race club which is situated on the edge of the Simpson Desert. Saddlers Knife is the family cattle brand and also the syndicate that races horses under Saddlers Knife Racing. The Brook family has been involved with racehorses for three generations, with Gary’s grandfather Bill a Birdsville Cup winning jockey. While the family is excited about Ferivia’s potential, they won’t have a runner in the Birdsville Cup this year. T-23 days to the @birdsvilleraces - I’m excited. — Gary Brook (@GaryBrook18) August 13, 2025 • Stokes-trained grand warrior and Birdsville Cup dominator Neodium has been retired. “We thought it was probably time to retire him, he was eight when he was retired, albeit he was fairly lightly raced,â€ Brook said. “We probably would have been keeping him going just for another Birdsville Cup, so we thought it best to give him a nice retirement. “Ferivia looks to have really good talent and she is probably unlucky not to be undefeated. “To win the way she did last Saturday and to weave through the field, when she was probably hard ridden at the 500(m), it was a terrific win. “We think she will be better over further distance and be better when the ground is harder as well.â€ Gary Brook now lives in South Australia with his family but is already making preparations for the two-day road trip to the famous Birdsville carnival early next month. Question for the @punters. Which winning form do you prefer for the Birdsville Cup? Hettinger (12L Katherine Cup), Without Revenge (4L Nanango Cup), Testator Silens (2L Longreach Newmarket), Three Gongs (0.4L Gladstone Cup)? @birdsvilleraces @Racing @RaceQLD — Gary Brook (@GaryBrook18) August 19, 2025 He said field sizes should be bigger and the races stronger than last year. “I will get to Birdsville on the Sunday before, I will have to travel a bit further than normal with some of the road closures in South Australia and I will drive up there with my wife, our three kids and a dog,â€ Brook said. “In terms of horse numbers, they are looking really strong and I would be stunned if we didn’t have double the runners of last year. “Over 20 different stables have indicated they are coming. “ Hettinger, who won the Katherine Cup by 12 lengths, is on its way down.

What does it mean to have your song KPopped? Kylie Minogue, the Spice Girls and Boy George find out
A new concept is about to enter the television landscape. It's a competition show called KPopped, where music icons team up with K-pop idols who put a new spin on their pop hits. The audience votes for which song is KPopped the best at the end of each episode, as they're urged to consider elements such as the visuals, vocals and choreography. Even Australia's own Kylie Minogue has signed up to have her song Can't Get You Out of My Head KPopped. "Kylie reinvents herself as the eternal pop princess, all the while," executive producer Moira Ross told ABC News. "So, it's very fitting." The show is filmed in Seoul, South Korea where Minogue collaborated with members of the K-pop group Ateez. "It wasn't her very first experience of Seoul," Ms Ross said. "But I think she stayed on a couple of extra days so that she could really explore and enjoy her time out in Korea. "And she was just so open to the whole format and working with Ateez. Rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who is an executive producer on the show, and Psy, who is behind the viral hit Gangnam Style, star in KPopped, which invites icons Boy George, Patti LaBelle, the Spice Girls, Boyz II Men, TLC, Taylor Dayne, Eve, Kesha, J Balvin, Ava Max, Jess Glynne, Vanilla Ice and Minogue, to have their songs KPopped by idols Billie, Itzy, Kep1er, JO1, Stayc, Kiss of Life, Blackswan and Ateez. Ms Ross said it wasn't hard to get the global icons involved. "They're all big fans of K-pop," Ms Ross said. "And when they heard the concept, they very much were like, 'Yeah, I'm in.' So, whose idea was it to put together KPopped versions of hits? "This actually goes back to 2021," fellow executive producer Jake Hong said. "CJ [Group] vice chairwoman Ms Miky Lee met with the legend Mr Lionel Richie [who are both executive producers on the show]. "Lionel Richie was talking about how impressed and surprised he was by seeing all these K-pop phenomenons and young K-pop talents, and Ms Lee was telling Lionel that all these great K-pop talents actually, they're inspired by Lionel, your music and what you've created — the great pop culture. The show's creators are hoping KPopped appeals to diehard fans of K-pop and the music icons featured as well as new fans of the combined genre. "So, whether you're discovering a new genre or reconnecting with the familiar hit, it really is a celebration of great music, with [great] artists." KPopped is streaming on Apple TV+ from next Friday, August 29.
