Tennis star Sinner releases duet with Italian tenor Bocelli

Tennis star Jannik Sinner has turned his hand to music releasing a duet on Friday with the renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli.
The song, "Polvere e Gloria" (Dust And Glory), features three-time Grand Slam champion Sinner, not singing but repeating parts of his winning and losing speeches, which he recorded at Bocelli's studio in Tuscany.

"I am very happy and honoured to be part of this project with Andrea, who for 30 years has been a unique and extraordinary voice, a flag for our country in the rest of the world," said world number one Sinner.
"I could never have imagined hearing my voice in one of his songs. It's extremely moving."
Sinner won the US Open in 2024 and the Australian Open in 2024 and 2025, among 19 ATP titles. He finished runner-up in the French Open on clay at Roland Garros this month.
The track features both Italian and English lyrics.
The accompanying video shows Sinner and Bocelli, two of the most famous Italians in the world, in a bucolic countryside setting, seated at a piano.

The video features personal and archive images from the duo's childhoods, along with scenes filmed as they collaborated at Bocelli's estate.
While Bocelli, 66, has performed at major events including the Olympic Games and the World Cup, Sinner is the first Italian to top either the men's or women's singles world rankings in tennis.
His image as a national hero in Italy, however, was tarnished by a high-profile doping scandal involving accidental contamination, which, after a lengthy series of events, earned him a three-month suspension between February and May.
Since his return, Sinner, 23, has reached the finals of the Masters 1000 in Rome and the French Open, losing both times to his great rival Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.
On Thursday, he was defeated in the second round of the grass-court tournament in Halle, Germany, by Kazakh Alexander Bublik, ranked 45th in the world.

😱 Chelsea out to Flamengo 3-1: Danilo scores, Jackson madness 🇧🇷

Brazilian teams continue to impress in the Club World Cup: Flamengo beats Chelsea 3-1 in a comeback, this is the second giant killing after Botafogo's against PSG. We also remember the two draws of Palmeiras and Fluminense against Porto and Borussia Dortmund. No Brazilian team has yet lost in the competition. ⚡Pedro Neto's illusion and 6 minutes of madness At the 13' Pedro Neto scores in open field taking advantage of a serious mistake by Wesley (linked to several Italian teams in recent days) but Chelsea does not have the dominance of the game or possession: even 63% against the 37% of the Blues. However, Maresca's team experiences 6 minutes of total distraction: first a beautiful launch by Gerson (ex Fiorentina) inspires the header assist for Bruno Henrique's tap-in at the 62', who entered the field 10' ago. 2 minutes pass and Flamengo completes the comeback: on a corner kick, ex-Juve Danilo scores the 2-1 with a split. 😱 Nicolas Jackson sent off after 4'! Goal from 2005 The sporting madness continues with the expulsion of Nicolas Jackson at the 68', just 4 minutes after he came on. Hammer leg for no reason and a rightful red. Flamengo's coach Filipe Luis (former Atletico Madrid full-back) brings in the 2005 class striker Wallace Yan who fortuitously finds the 3-1 at the 83'. 🇧🇷 Brazilian Dominance: Chelsea and PSG KO! Dortmund 🛑 This result confirms a very clear trend: Brazilian teams are dominating these early rounds of the Club World Cup, especially against the big European teams Advertisement Remember that Palmeiras drew with Porto 0-0 and is in 1st place in Group A, as is Botafogo in Group B after beating PSG 1-0. Fluminense, on the other hand, held Borussia Dortmund to a 0-0 draw but creating more chances than the Germans. And now Flamengo's 3-1 win over Chelsea has arrived, with the red-blacks leading Group D: 6 points out of 6. This article was translated into English by Artificial Intelligence. President Trump Leaves Soccer Team Speechless With Question At White House

President Trump Leaves Soccer Team Speechless With Question At White House originally appeared on The Spun. President Donald Trump had a rather questionable encounter with Juventus players and staff members on Wednesday. Juventus is currently in the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup. Prior to the Italian club's match against Al Ain, several players and coaches took a trip to the White House to meet with President Trump. Although it wasn't necessary, Trump asked Juventus players for their view on transgender athletes. He kicked off the conversation by saying, "Could a woman make your team, fellas?" Juventus general manager Damien Comolli replied, "We have a very good women's team." That led to another interesting comment from Trump. "You do, but they should be playing with women," Trump said. "He's being very diplomatic." Juventus player Tim Weah, who also competes for the United States national team, didn't hold back his thoughts on meeting Trump. "It was weird," Weah said, via The Guardian. "I was caught by surprise, honestly, when he started talking politics, with Iran and everything. I was kind of like, I just want to play football … They just told us that we have to go, and I had no choice but to go. So I guess it was a cool experience, obviously being in the White House as a first time, it's always wonderful. But I'm not one for the politics, so it wasn't that exciting." Weah isn't the only person knocking Trump this week. Countless soccer fans said his question about women competing with men was uncalled Trump Leaves Soccer Team Speechless With Question At White House first appeared on The Spun on Jun 19, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jun 19, 2025, where it first appeared.

Journalist: Liverpool Star ‘Will Leave This Summer' in £50m Deal

Darwin Núñez Set for Liverpool Exit as Napoli Interest Grows Liverpool's summer transfer window could be set for a significant twist with Darwin Núñez expected to leave Anfield, just two years after arriving as the club's record signing. In an insightful conversation with Dave Davis for Anfield Index, journalist Lewis Steele shared revealing details about the forward's likely departure, shedding light on interest from Napoli and the financial realities surrounding the move. Napoli's Pursuit and European Interest Napoli appear to be leading the chase for Núñez. According to Steele, 'As far as I'm aware there has been no official bid or approaches for Nunez at this stage, but it seems that Napoli are keen.' He went on to add, 'I've seen some Italian reports that claim he is Antonio Conte's number one target, so I'll believe them.' Advertisement That endorsement from Italy, coupled with continued interest from Saudi Pro League clubs and Atlético Madrid, suggests a multi-club tussle could emerge. While no concrete bids have yet materialised, the groundwork for Núñez's exit seems to be well under way. Valuation Woes and Financial Realities Liverpool's valuation of the Uruguayan striker has raised eyebrows. The club is reportedly seeking between £65 million and £70 million for Núñez, but as Steele explains, that may not reflect his current market value. 'Nunez will leave this summer and Liverpool want around £65-70million for him, but I can't see them getting that. They will do well to get £40-50m, I think.' For a player who arrived from Benfica with high expectations and an £85 million price tag including add-ons, that projected sale figure is a marked drop. Yet, it mirrors the inconsistent performances that have defined Núñez's time at Anfield. While he offered explosive pace and chaotic energy, his lack of composure in front of goal and fit within the system made him a divisive figure during Jürgen Klopp's final years and now into Arne Slot's early reign. Photo: IMAGO Slot's Rebuild and Forward Planning The potential sale of Núñez is not just about recouping money. It's about reshaping Liverpool's attacking identity under Premier League-winning manager Arne Slot. Steele touched on the broader context of squad rebuilding, saying: 'They may have to take a little bit of a hit on this one and Liverpool need to try and make some money back because they've already spent an awful lot of money and as far as I'm aware, there's going to be more money spent in the upcoming weeks and months.' Advertisement Slot's ability to lead Liverpool to the title in his first season suggests that he has a clear vision for the squad. Whether that includes a new central striker or a tactical shift in attacking play, Núñez's departure seems increasingly inevitable as the club look to evolve. Strategic Exit or Misjudged Investment? While some fans may lament what Núñez could have become, others will see this as a necessary reset. It is no longer just about talent but about system fit and squad harmony. With Liverpool prioritising smart recruitment and sustainability, cutting losses on Núñez may not be a failure, but a necessary course correction. As Steele concluded in his discussion with Anfield Index, there is still business to be done. The next few weeks could prove decisive, both for Núñez and for Liverpool's next chapter under Slot.
