‘Biggest Loser' star Bob Harper claims Jillian Michaels didn't reach out after his heart attack: ‘Speaks volumes'

Bob Harper didn't hear from Jillian Michaels after his heart attack in 2017. In a new interview with The Guardian, Harper, 59, said many people from 'The Biggest Loser' reached out to him after the near-fatal health incident — but not Michaels, 51. 'We weren't besties, but we were partners on a television show for a very long time,' Harper told the outlet, noting Michaels' silence 'speaks volumes' to him. 8 Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper on 'The Biggest Loser.' Knowing a little bit about Bob, I know that he does have a family history of it,' she said on E! News' Daily Pop in July 2017. 'I was there when he lost his mother to a heart attack—with him the night that she died. 'I do also think that, you know, you're in the middle of a CrossFit workout and you're eating Paleo, it's not going to help,' Michaels continued. 'Personally, I'm not pro-Paleo. Everyone can just go crazy on me.' 'It's not a great combination with poor genetics,' she added of Harper's diet and exercise routine. The personal trainer also said that he 'didn't trust my heart anymore' for a long time after the incident.

VivoSim Labs Appoints Tony Lialin as Chief Commercial Officer

Veteran commercial leader to scale AI-enabled NAMkind™ liver and intestine toxicology services in a rapidly growing market SAN DIEGO, Aug. 14, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- VivoSim Labs, Inc. (Nasdaq: VIVS) (the 'Company' or 'VivoSim Labs'), a pharmaceutical and biotechnology services company that is focused on providing testing of drugs and drug candidates in three-dimensional ('3D') human tissue models of liver and intestine, announced today that it has appointed Tony Lialin as its Chief Commercial Officer. Mr. Lialin brings more than two decades of experience turning breakthrough life science platforms into scalable, predictable revenue. He has built commercial teams from the ground up, forged strategic pharma partnerships, and helped scale multiple businesses that were later acquired by leading industry players. At VivoSim Labs, he will lead go-to-market strategy, partnerships, and the expansion of the Company's San Diego-based services that combine organ-specific 3D models with AI-driven analytics to deliver decision-ready insights earlier in development. Market Opportunity: According to an internal analysis conducted by VivoSim Labs in July 2025, the global combined liver and gastrointestinal in-vitro models and toxicology services market generated $641M in revenue in 2024. Services represented 53.1% of revenue vs. models at 46.9% of revenue. The United States accounted for $325M (50.8%) of the global market for liver toxicology models and services. Adoption of 3D human-relevant systems is rising, with the global in vitro liver model market growing at 5.9% CAGR from 2020 to 2024. Category Tailwinds: Biopharma sponsors are accelerating the use of non-animal new approach methodologies (NAMs). Regulatory momentum, including the FDA Modernization Act 2.0 (2022), supports validated alternatives and is catalyzing broader adoption of human-relevant in vitro models for ADME and toxicology. How AI Helps: VivoSim Labs applies AI to quantify multi-parametric toxicity signatures across liver and intestinal organoid assays. By improving signal-to-noise in dose-response analyses, the platform helps project teams prioritize candidates and plan studies with greater confidence. 'VivoSim Labs sits at the intersection of biology and AI. Our NAMkind™ models are designed to answer make-or-break questions earlier,' said Tony Lialin, Chief Commercial Officer, VivoSim Labs. 'We will scale a high-touch, consultative service from our San Diego lab so pharma and biopharma teams get decision-ready toxicology insights that aim to streamline pre-IND decision-making and reduce late-stage surprises.' 'Tony has a rare track record of turning disruptive science into durable commercial engines,' said Keith Murphy, Executive Chairman, VivoSim Labs. 'As sponsors move rapidly to 3D, human-relevant models, they want a partner—not just a plate or a protocol—to guide critical decisions. Tony knows how to build the solutions that our customers need.' ANGRY ORCHARD® HARD CIDER AND JASON UNIVERSE TEAM UP TO 'KILL' FANS

WALDEN, N.Y., Aug. 14, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Lock the doors and stock the fridge. Angry Orchard Hard Cider and Horror, Inc. partnered on a terrifying new Jason Universe short-form vignette titled 'Sweet Revenge.' The 13-minute thriller, written and directed by Mike P. Nelson, spotlights two real-life fans – not actors – who have been 'killed' at the hands of Jason. Angry Orchard and Jason Universe scouted their most diehard fans on social media, offering them the opportunity of a lifetime: to travel to the filming of 'Sweet Revenge' and take on the highly coveted roles of Jason's next casualties. The fans were transformed into grisly victims and can be seen on-screen in the aftermath of their 'deaths' – marking the first time a brand has 'killed' a fan (probably). 'This time of year, our fans are craving hard cider and a good scare,' said Matt Withington, senior director of marketing at Angry Orchard, which is made by The Boston Beer Company. 'Both Angry Orchard and Jason have fiercely loyal fans, so to celebrate this collaboration, we wanted to create a moment they'd never forget – or come back from – by letting them become part of horror history. And what's more unforgettable than coming face-to-face with the most iconic horror slasher of all time?' Calleigh Kearns, a lover of both Angry Orchard and slasher films from Barnegat, New Jersey, and Gio Contreras, a Jason Voorhees superfan and horror enthusiast from Agoura Hills, California, were selected to take part in the filming of Sweet Revenge. 'This is just the beginning of Jason's return,' said Robbie Barsamian, executive vice president of Horror, Inc. 'Partnering with Angry Orchard helped us give fans something unexpected—but completely in line with the franchise. It's bold. It's bloody. And it's only a taste of what's to come.' The new vignette isn't the only sweet release in this killer collaboration: Angry Orchard is introducing a new 12-can Thriller Variety Pack, which features glow-in-the-dark packaging and four flavor-packed ciders, including a new Jason-inspired Blood Orange cider. The can artwork bears Jason's infamous hockey mask as a tribute to the slasher legend. Available now, the Angry Orchard Thriller Variety Pack includes three brand-new cider innovations and the return of a fan favorite: Blood Orange: Packed with vibrant notes of juicy apple and honeysuckle, this cider slices through ordinary orange flavor to deliver a bolder, zesty sweetness with a striking blood-red hue. Cinnful Apple®: This returning fan-favorite blends sweet, slightly tart apple flavor with a spicy cinnamon twist, adding a warmth perfect for the season. As an added treat, Angry Orchard Crisp Apple single-serve cans (16oz and 24oz) are getting a seasonal makeover, too. The limited-edition design pairs Jason's iconic hockey mask with the gnarled, twisted limbs of the Angry Orchard tree – a chilling new look for this classic favorite. Find these limited-edition cans before they're gone at retailers nationwide, starting September 1.
