Bruce Springsteen to open vault and release 7 albums of never-before-heard songs

NBC News03-04-2025

Bruce Springsteen will open his vault in late June and debut 83 previously unreleased songs, the rock legend announced on Thursday.
'Tracks II: The Lost Albums' will be comprised of seven "full-length records" and be available on June 27 through Sony Music, the E Street Band front man said in a statement.
''The Lost Albums' were full records, some of them even to the point of being mixed and not released,' said Springsteen. 'I've played this music to myself and often close friends for years now. I'm glad you'll get a chance to finally hear them. I hope you enjoy them.'
The release appears to coincide with the upcoming film 'Deliver Me From Nowhere,' a biopic about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame icon starring "The Bear" actor Jeremy Allen White as The Boss.

Springsteen's Berlin concert echoes with history and a stark warning

Veteran rock star Bruce Springsteen, a high-profile critic of President Donald Trump, slammed the U.S. administration as 'corrupt, incompetent and treasonous' during a concert Wednesday in Berlin. He was addressing tens of thousands of fans at a stadium built for the 1936 Olympic Games that still bears the scars of World War II and contains relics from the country's dark Nazi past. 'Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices, stand with us against authoritarianism, and let freedom reign,' he said. Springsteen, long a political opponent of the president, has made increasingly pointed and contentious public statements in recent concerts. He denounced Trump's politics during a concert last month in Manchester, calling him an 'unfit president' leading a 'rogue government' of people who have 'no concern or idea for what it means to be deeply American.' Springsteen is no stranger to Berlin. In July 1988, he became one of the first Western musicians to perform in East Germany, performing to a ravenous crowd of 160,000 East Germans yearning for American rock 'n' roll and the freedom it represented to the youth living under the crumbling communist regime. An Associated Press news story from that period says 'fireworks steaked through the sky' and hundreds of people in the audience waved handmade American flags as they sang along to 'Born in the USA.' Almost four decades later, Springsteen issued a stark warning: 'The America that I love, the America that I've sung to you about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration."

The Dancing In the Dark hitmaker, 75, arrived back at his hotel with his security who shielded him from the rain with an umbrella. But Bruce refused to play ball and told them: "You guys chased me all around town... I'm signing nothing." He then proceeded to head into the building, as one fan replied: "We didn't, we've been waiting here for you." Despite the clip going making its way onto social media, some fans are convinced that this is not the whole story. One person took to the comment section and wrote: "I feel like it takes a lot to aggravate Bruce. Hope they got the hint." A second posted: "Well said Bruce. I've never been fortunate enough to meet him but he comes across as such a kindhearted man who loves his fans and so generous." Another added: "I am sure they are not fans, because fans would not do this, because they understand . Fans just waited in front of his hotel, not following Bruce anywhere. Moreover, it is raining in this video, so Bruce has a reason to refuse." While this person claimed: "These are almost certainly professional autograph hunters who immediately resell." The Sun has reached out to Bruce's rep for comment. Fans left stunned as Scots superfan performs harmonica duet with Bruce Springsteen at huge stadium show Bruce and The E Street Band were in Manchester as part of their 2025 Land of Hope and Dreams tour. They played three-night residency at Co-op Live in Manchester, with dates on May 14, 17, and 20. They then visited Liverpool at Anfield on June 4 and 7, marking the only other UK dates on the tour. Last month Bruce surprised fans at a Huddersfield restaurant with actor Stephen Graham. Stephen plays his father in a new biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere - which is out in October. Oliver Roberts, who runs Norman's, thought their visit was a 'prank' at first. He said Bruce and Stephen, 51, shared ten small plates including tomatoes with garlic ice cream. Last year, The Sun reported that fans trying to buy £150 Bruce Springsteen tickets early were shocked at having to pay for at least two, plus a hotel room — costing up to £800. Packages on Ticketmaster, part of Live Nation, included £796 for two front standing tickets and a double room at the four-star Novotel in Liverpool ahead of next June's gig at Anfield. Two rear standing tickets in last Thursday's pre-sale were £754 with a room at the Hilton. Two plus a night at the Ibis were £732. A pair and a room at the three-star Holiday Inn cost £698. Ticketmaster was criticised over its 'dynamic pricing' for Oasis shows when £135 tickets suddenly shot up to £355. But a fan of The Boss tweeted: 'This tie-in with hotel packages is taking it to another level.' 4 Bruce was in Manchester as part of their 2025 Land of Hope and Dreams tour Credit: Getty
