King: Resolving disputes between countries and de-escalation must be pursued through diplomatic frameworks, dialogue, and negotiations. His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday affirmed that Jordan will not allow anyone to exploit the current regional developments to question the Kingdom's firm and consistent positions on the causes of the Arab nation. During a meeting he chaired at Al Husseiniya Palace with the heads of the three branches of government and security agency leaders, His Majesty underscored the importance of maintaining internal unity and reinforcing national spirit. The King directed all state institutions to work toward alleviating the negative effects of the current serious regional escalation, particularly in the economic sphere. His Majesty reiterated Jordan's call for intensifying international efforts to achieve a comprehensive de-escalation, stressing that resolving conflicts between countries and reducing tensions must occur within diplomatic frameworks, dialogue, and negotiations. The King once again emphasized that achieving lasting stability and peace in the region is not possible without resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict—the core conflict in the region. He renewed the call for stepped-up international efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, reduce tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and pave the way for a political horizon toward a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, House of Representatives Speaker Ahmad Al-Safadi, President of the Judicial Council Mahmoud Al-Ababneh, and President of the Constitutional Court Mohammad Al-Ghazo. Also present were Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Ahmad Al-Huneiti, Director of the General Intelligence Department Major General Ahmad Hosni, and Director of Public Security Major General Dr. Obaidallah Maaytah. The meeting was attended as well by Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, and Director of His Majesty's Office, Engineer Alaa Al-Bataineh.

VIDEO: 'Israeli' strike targets Iran's Evin Prison

Iran's judiciary has confirmed that 'Israeli' missile strikes on Monday damaged parts of Tehran's notorious Evin prison, a facility long known for housing political prisoners, activists, and dual nationals accused of state-related offenses. 'In the latest attack by the Zionist regime on Tehran, projectiles unfortunately struck Evin prison, causing damage to parts of the facility,' read a statement from Mizan Online, the official news outlet of Iran's judiciary. While authorities did not provide details on the extent of the damage or whether there were casualties, the report noted that emergency teams were swiftly deployed to contain the situation. The statement assured the public that all resources had been mobilized and that the situation remained 'under control.' Evin Prison, located in the northern Evin neighborhood of Tehran, was built in 1972 and has gained international notoriety since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Often cited in human rights reports, the facility has become a symbol of the Islamic Republic's crackdown on dissent. It is regularly used to detain journalists, political dissidents, human rights defenders, and foreign nationals accused of espionage or anti-state activity.

Russia condemns U.S. strikes on Iran

Ammon News - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday condemned the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran ahead of a meeting with Iran's top diplomat, describing the strikes as 'absolutely unprovoked,' but he has so far stopped short of any more concrete measures to assist Russia's regional ally. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi flew to Moscow on Monday to meet Tehran's key ally after Russia's Foreign Ministry condemned the U.S. strikes on Iran as a reckless and dangerous escalation and a 'blatant breach of international law.' 'The unprovoked aggression against Iran has no grounds and no justification whatsoever. For our part, we are making efforts to assist the Iranian people,' Putin said in public comments before his talks with Araghchi. Araghchi thanked Putin for Russia's condemnation of the attacks, describing the Israeli and U.S. attacks as a 'completely illegitimate' breach of international law. Washington Post

Iran's Supreme Leader Seeks More Support from Putin Following U.S. Strikes - Jordan News

On Monday, Iran's Supreme Leader sent his foreign minister to Moscow to request additional support from Russia, following the largest U.S. military operation against the Islamic Republic since the 1979 revolution, which took place over the weekend. اضافة اعلان U.S. President Donald Trump and Israel have openly speculated about the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a potential regime change—moves that Russia fears could plunge the Middle East into chaos. While Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the Israeli strikes, he has yet to comment on the U.S. attacks targeting Iran's nuclear sites, despite calling for calm last week and offering Moscow's mediation in the nuclear dispute. A senior source told Reuters that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was expected to deliver a message from Khamenei to Putin, appealing for his support. According to Iranian sources cited by Reuters, Tehran has so far seen limited backing from Moscow and hopes Putin will step up his efforts to support Iran against both Israel and the United States, though the nature of the requested support was not disclosed. The Kremlin confirmed that Putin would meet with Araghchi but did not specify the topics to be discussed. Russia's TASS news agency quoted Araghchi as saying that Iran and Russia are coordinating their positions regarding the ongoing escalation in the Middle East. Putin has repeatedly offered to mediate between the United States and Iran and has conveyed Moscow's proposals to both sides, aiming to resolve the conflict while ensuring Iran's continued access to civilian nuclear energy. Last week, the Russian president refused to discuss the possibility of the U.S. and Israel assassinating Khamenei. Putin also stated that Israel had assured Moscow that Russian specialists helping build two new reactors at Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant would not be harmed in the event of airstrikes. Russia is a long-standing ally of Tehran and plays a role in nuclear negotiations with the West, both as a permanent member of the UN Security Council and a signatory of the previous nuclear agreement that Trump abandoned during his first term in 2018. However, with Putin now deeply engaged in a protracted war of attrition in Ukraine for the past four years, he has shown no clear willingness to confront the United States over Iran—especially as Trump signals a desire to repair ties with Moscow.
