
Free Yoga Sessions across Tumakuru ahead of International Yoga Day 2025
In the run-up to International Yoga Day 2025, Shri Patanjali Yoga Shikshana Samiti (R), Karnataka – Central Office Tumakuru, has announced a city-wide initiative offering free yoga classes to residents of Tumakuru. The programme is aimed at promoting holistic health and well-being through the practice of Yogasanas, Pranayama, and Dhyana.
Beginning June 4, 2025, the daily yoga sessions will be held from 5.30 a.m. to 7 a.m. across 25 different locations in Tumakuru city. The initiative is open to the public and encourages participation from individuals of all age groups.
Some of the key venues include: Kids International School Campus, Siddarameshwara Layout; Ayush Bhavan, Nrupathunga Layout; 3rd 'A' Cross, Sanjeevini Park, Maruthi Nagar; Saptagiri Library Campus, T.P. Kailasam Road, Saptagiri Layout Vipra Bhavan, Jayanagar West.

Koppal add'l DC wants maximum turnout on Yoga Day
Koppal: The ADC Sidrameshwara highlighted the importance of extensive participation in International Yoga Day (June 21), calling for effective promotional activities to guarantee significant public engagement. In a preliminary meeting at the DC's office on Friday regarding the celebrations for the day, he said the event will start at 6.30am on June 21 at the taluk stadium. One lakh people from Vizianagaram will take part in Yoga programme at Bhimili: Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan
Vizianagaram Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan directed officials of all the departments concerned to mobilis around one lakh people from Vizianagaram district and encourage them to participate in mega yoga programme to be held in Bheemunipatnam of Visakhapatnam district on the eve of International Yoga Day to be observed on June 21. According to him, mobilisation of one lakh people would be easy as Bheemunipatnam is very close to several mandals of Vizianagaram district. As the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate in the event, the district is planning to make it as a grand success and bring laurels to the district with its efforts to gather huge number of people for the programme. who visited various tourism spots including Thatipudi reservoir directed the officials to arrange yoga camps in a big way. Chintapalli, Ramateertham, Thatipudi, and other areas were selected for special yoga camps planned between June 6 to June 19. T-shirts, yoga mats have to be given to the participants. Spot registration desks are needed to be established at those selected places since many of them might have not registered their names in Yogandhra portal. Vizianagaram District Rural Development Agency Project Director Kalyana Chakravarthi and other officials assured Mr. Madhavan that the special care would be taken up all yoga programmes planned in different places of the district as well as Bheemunipatnam. Mr. Chakravarthi said that all the participants will be provided bus facility to reach Bheemunipatnam by 5.30 pm on June 21. He said that youngsters were keen to participate in the mega event.

Cleanliness drive held ahead of Yoga Day in Kurukshetra
Kurukshetra district administration and Thanesar municipal council on Wednesday carried out a cleanliness drive from Pipli Geeta Dwar to Sector 10. The drive was led by deputy commissioner (DC) Neha Singh on the orders of chief minister Nayab Singh Saini ahead of International Yoga Day. During the campaign, the DC collected polythene from the roadsides around Pipli Geeta Dwar and did voluntary work to clean the roads and the surrounding area by sweeping. Not only this, during this time, Neha Singh visited the establishments of fruit vendors, grocery stores and dhaba owners around Pipli Geeta Dwar and warned them about keeping polythene, and also issued eight challans by taking direct action against littering the roads. Speaking to mediapersons, she said that a yoga marathon will be held on June 15 and later a state-level Yoga Day programme will be organised on June 21, where 1 lakh people will sit together and perform yoga at Brahmasarovar. District municipal commissioner Satinder Siwach, SDM Aman Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
