Sentral REIT acquires retail units in Mont Kiara for RM70mil

PETALING JAYA: Sentral Real Estate Investment Trust (Sentral REIT ) is acquiring 38 stratified retail units and 1,432 car park bays as part of the Arcoris Plaza Development from UEM Sunrise Bhd for RM70mil.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Sentral REIT said the property is strategically located in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur.
'Mont Kiara is a mature neighbourhood with a large expatriate population, and it fulfils the criteria of a strategic location with good infrastructure, reputable international schools, bustling commercial centres, entertainment and leisure facilities.
'Sentral REIT will be able to take advantage of greater economies of scale in the Mont Kiara neighborhood with the purchase of the property. This enables the company to leverage its existing resources (property management and leasing team) to manage the operations at the property.'
Sentral REIT said the prospects of the property are expected to be positive in view of its strategic location, good accessibility, good income stream. 'Premised on the above, the manager believes that the property will add value to the unitholders in the long run.'

'The decrease in revenue for own-vessels was mainly due to the lower number of chartered days in 2Q25, representing 74.6% utilisation rate for our own vessels during this period, as compared to 96.9% in 2Q24,' it said.

KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks likely to attract trading interest today include SD Guthrie Bhd , Mah Sing Group Bhd , ITMax System Bhd , Annum Bhd , Golden Pharos Bhd , and Sentral Real Estate Investment Trust (Sentral REIT), following their latest corporate announcements. SD Guthrie posted a net profit of RM505mil for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 (2Q25), up from RM415mil in the same quarter last year. The group reported revenue of RM5.17bil compared to RM4.97bil in 2Q24. ITMax's 70%-owned subsidiary, Selmax Sdn Bhd, has been appointed as the operator of the Selangor Intelligent Parking (SIP) system by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA). Mah Sing has acquired 1.485-acres of freehold land in the heart of the KLCC precinct from the MUI Group for RM260mil. The property developer said the land will be redeveloped into a premium freehold serviced apartment project with an estimated gross development value of RM1.28bil. Units are indicatively priced from RM898,000. Annum, a plywood products manufacturer, will be delisted from Bursa Malaysia on August 12, 2025, following the dismissal of its appeal for an extension of time to submit a regularisation plan. Golden Pharos's unit GP Plywood has appointed GK Vest as the operator for a biochar production facility on 1.19 acres in Dungun, Terengganu, under an 80:20 revenue-sharing agreement. Sentral REIT posted a lower realised net income of RM20.14mil in 2QFY25 versus RM20.53mil a year earlier, as revenue slipped to RM47.7mil from RM49.03mil. For 1HFY25, net income was slightly lower at RM39.74mil, while revenue declined to RM95.15mil. It declared a 3.16 sen interim distribution, ex-date Aug 21, payable Sept 18.

PETALING JAYA: Sentral Real Estate Investment Trust 's (Sentral-REIT) second-quarter net income dipped slightly on the year as the Klang Valley office market continues to face ongoing supply and flight-to-quality pressures. In the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 (2Q25), Sentral-REIT recorded a realised net income of RM20.14mil, down from RM20.53mil in the year-ago quarter. Income per share slipped to 1.68 sen from 1.72 sen in the previous quarter. Revenue in 2Q25 dipped to RM47.7mil from RM49.03mil in the comparative quarter. For the six-month period, the REIT's net income was slightly lower at RM39.74mil compared to RM40.42mil in 1H24, while revenue contracted to RM95.15mil from RM98.72mil in the year-ago period.
