Teen boy discovered dead on railway line pictured
One of two teenage boys who were tragically found dead on railway tracks near has been named as 16-year-old Joshua Myers.
Joshua, from Handforth, was reported missing in May, with police believing he had travelled more than 200 miles to Devon and Cornwall. He was later found, but went missing again briefly in June.
On Thursday night, Joshua and another 16-year-old boy were discovered near the railway lines close to Poynton Station, near Stockport, Greater Manchester, reports the Mirror.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 10.10pm, but both teenagers were pronounced dead despite the efforts of paramedics.
The British Transport Police (BTP), who are leading the investigation, have confirmed the deaths are not being treated as suspicious.
Train lines were closed to allow emergency crews access to the area, causing disruption to several services including Avanti West Coast, Cross Country, and Northern. Services resumed at around 6am on Friday morning.

A rail passenger who arrived at the station on Friday told the Manchester Evening News: "It's just devastating. I have teenage children myself, including a 16-year-old boy. It brings it so close to home."
BTP said in a statement: 'Officers were called at around 10.10pm on July 3rd to reports of a casualty on the tracks near Poynton railway station. Officers attended with paramedics. Very sadly and despite the best efforts of paramedics, two 16-year-old boys were pronounced dead at the scene.'
Further details about the circumstances leading up to the tragedy have not yet been released.

Missing Mum Rachel Booth last seen jogging at 4am as chilling clues emerge

Chilling clues over the disappearance of a mum last seen jogging at 4am have emerged - after it was revealed she went to a petrol station before she vanished. Rachel Booth was last seen on Saturday, with CCTV capturing her at a garage just before 4am. And a petrol station worker has now revealed what she bought while out on her run. Station worker Issac Carolan, 19, told The Sun what the mum had bought in the early hours of Saturday morning. He said: "I spoke to my colleague who had served her on Saturday morning. She bought milk and wine and jogged from 45 minutes away. "But it didn't seem weird, she didn't seem disturbed or flustered." Police, on Saturday night, confirmed it was "conducting enquiries" in the local village of Oakmere, near Delamere Forest, and the "surrounding area". The Mirror reports Rachel, 38, was last seen in the Barnton area of Cheshire on Saturday, July 19, and a huge search has been launched to find the mum as police expressed "increasing concern for her welfare". Rachel was last seen on CCTV at Sandiway Garage, on the A556, at 3.50am. Cheshire Police said it believed the mum could have been travelling to a nearby village and said it conducted an underwater search in the area. Man and woman found injured in Glasgow street after 'rammy'
They were taken to hospital and a man was arrested. An investigation is underway after an alleged disturbance at a property in Glasgow yesterday evening left a man and a woman injured and saw a suspect arrested. Officers raced to St Vincent Terrace, in the city's Anderston area, following reports of an incident, and a 27-year-old woman was found injured within a property. Glasgow Live reports that a 28-year-old man was also found injured a short time after the 7pm call out, in the William Street area, near to St Patrick Church. Police Scotland confirmed that a 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident yesterday, Saturday, July 19, 2025. A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 7.10pm on Saturday, 19 July, 2025, officers were called to a report of a disturbance at an address on St Vincent Terrace, Glasgow. "A 27-year-old woman was found injured within the property, and a 28-year-old man was traced with injuries a short time later in the William Street area. "Both were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear in court at a later date."
