CUSB PG 1st cut-off list today, MGCU's next week
Patna: First cut-off list for admission to the 28 postgraduate programmes in Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) will be released on Wednesday. The online registration for counselling and admissions in 2025-26 session had ended on June 2 itself. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Giving details of the admission process, an official of CUSB told this newspaper that candidates figuring in the list will have to submit the fee for admission from June 11 to 15, 2025. If the seats remain vacant after the end of admissions from the first cut-off list, the second cut-off list will be released on June 20. Subsequently, if some seats are still left vacant after the admissions from the second cut-off list, the third cut-off list will be announced on June 27. The final list of admitted students for the academic year 2025-26 will be published on the university's website on July 8. The classes of newly admitted PG students will commence from July 14, he said. There are altogether 1,208 sanctioned seats in all the 28 PG programmes, including data science and applied statistics, artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, bioinformatics, environmental science, life science, geology, geography, mathematics, pharmaceutics, pharmacology, physics, chemistry, statistics, commerce, journalism and mass communications, psychology, sociology, social work, economics, political science and international relations, history, English, Hindi, education, law and physical education. The university will also admit students to one-year PG diploma course in yoga. Mahatma Gandhi Central University, another central university in Bihar, is likely to declare its first cut-off list for PG admission next week. The online registration for admission in 19 postgraduate programmes of the university ended on Tuesday. An official of MGCU said the university will admit altogether 644 students in its 19 PG programmes, including physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany, zoology, biotechnology, journalism and mass communications, library and information science, business administration, commerce, Hindi, English, Sanskrit, political science, sociology, economics, Gandhian and peace studies, social work and education. There are 33 seats in each of these programmes except in MBA (50 seats), she said.
