Celebrity Traitors UK confirmed line-up revealed – who will take the top prize?
Filming has just completed on The Celebrity Traitors, which is expected to air in the autumn, and the BBC has now confirmed the line-up of VIPs taking part. It's a mouth-watering selection, love them or hate them, their duplicitous antics promise to be captivating.
Of the top-line names comedy will be provided by Joe Wilkinson and Alan Carr. The mischievous elder statesmen will be polymaths Jonathan Ross and Stephen Fry. Presenter Clare Balding and actress Celia Imrie will be the senior divas. And diver Tom Daley and former child star Charlotte Church add a splash of youth and wide-eyed innocence.
It's a measure of the reality game show's ratings-grabbing appeal – plus smart casting by production company Studio Lambert – that it has attracted such a stellar line-up. These are genuine household names with broad appeal, which spans the generations. Claudia Winkleman's other BBC contest, Strictly Come Dancing, would kill for a cast like this.
Those headline names are joined in the 20-strong cast by (deep breath) TV presenter Kate Garraway, historian David Olusoga, rugby player Joe Marler, YouTube prankster Niko Omilana, actor Mark Bonnar, singers Paloma Faith and Cat Burns, actresses Ruth Codd and Tameka Empson, and comedians Nick Mohammed and Lucy Beaumont. Talk about a ragtag bunch skulking around that Caledonian castle.
Ever since a celebrity edition of the BBC blockbuster was announced, fans have worried it might dilute a successful brand. However, sceptics can reassure themselves by looking at the franchise's US version, hosted by Alan Cumming. Rather than members of the public, it's populated by reality TV stars and random semi-famous faces. Yet viewers soon forget who they are and just savour the action. If anything, TV veterans tend to be better value. They give good quote. They're funnier and more flamboyant. They know the narrative beats of the genre and heighten their behaviour accordingly.
As a source told the Mirror: 'There will be a huge mix of personalities – and ego sizes. Seeing how it all works out is going to be fascinating. The team making the show are expecting it to be quite different to the regular version because the celebrities will be less motivated by the prize fund but care far more about how they come across.'
But once the game is afoot this autumn, how might things unfold?
Who will be banished first?
Judging by the three civilian series, conspicuously clever players tend to be murdered or banished early (remember Yin, the doctor of communication, voted off at the start of series three?). Their intelligence means they're mistrusted by the herd and intimidate their rivals, who will get rid of them at the first opportunity. This spells trouble for the likes of Fry and Olusoga, whose castle stay could be cut surprisingly short.

Who will make the best Faithfuls?
Sportsmen Daley and Marler should come into their own during the outward bound-style missions. England and Harlequins prop Marler is a wild card with an oddball sense of humour and fondness for wind-ups, which could come in handy. It's hard to see chirpy chipmunk Daley having sufficient guile for the mind games and manipulation. Perhaps he'll just sit quietly in a corner, knitting himself a chunky jumper and fingerless gloves like La Winkle.
Who will raise the most suspicion?
Mohammed is best known as double-crossing football coach Nate from Ted Lasso. He might find that people confuse him with his character and suspect him of skulduggery. Empson exited embarrassingly early from Strictly nine years ago. She will be praying that lightning doesn't strike twice.
Who will be the best Traitor-hunters?
There are always a few Faithful who pride themselves on being effective 'Traitor hunters'. You can imagine Ross, Carr and Burns falling into these roles – canny characters who'll relish hatching theories, setting traps and rooting out the enemies in their midst. Meanwhile, the likes of Faith and Garraway could be consumed with paranoia and see conspiracies where there aren't any.
Who will make the best Traitors?
Fry and Imrie are obvious candidates. They're both professional storytellers who have played villainous roles and have the gravitas to look good in a green velvet cloak. But would their recruitment to the dark side be a tad too predictable? Bonnar and Balding might be better bets. Last One Laughing 's Wilkinson can spin a good yarn, although the bearded eccentric is also goofy enough to potentially trip himself up.
And who will win?
Expect likeable characters such as Imrie, Beaumont, Bonnar, Marler and Empson to garner loyal fan followings. However, this counts for little in the castle, where success relies solely on gameplay, rather than public favour. Likewise, if it was a fame-game akin to public-voted reality shows, lesser-known names like Omilana and Codd would be in jeopardy. Up in those turrets and conclaves, though, they've got as good a chance as any. In fact, they might have an even better shot at success.
It's a definite trend in the civilian show that younger contestants tend to do well. Series one's Wilf Webster and series two's Harry Clarke were both twentysomething cheeky chappies who became Traitors-in-chief and schemed all the way to the final. Meanwhile, Aaron Evans, Hannah Byczkowski and Meryl Williams (in series one), Jake Brown and Leanne Quigley were all Faithfuls who slipped under the radar, survived until the end and ultimately triumphed.
But there has never been a UK Traitors winner aged over 32. If this pattern continues in the inaugural celebrity contest, those who prevail could well be the bright young things you haven't heard of. Whatever the outcome, expect the series to dominate the pop cultural conversation this autumn.

Billy Ray Cyrus trolled over calling Elizabeth Hurley 'the love of his life' just two months after debuting romance
has been trolled for calling his new girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley 'the love of his life' only two months after the couple went public with their budding romance. The Achy Breaky Heart singer, 63 - who has previously been married three times - jumped to his main Instagram page on Tuesday to pen a sweet tribute to the British actress in celebration of her 60th birthday. Back in April, the two stars debuted their relationship as they cozied up together in a photo during Easter weekend. Cyrus uploaded a photo as Elizabeth sat on his lap for a cute snap as they both flashed cheerful smiles for the camera. The beauty donned a patterned top and a pair of denim jeans while a black cowgirl hat was placed on top of her flowy locks. Billy sported a brown shirt as well as shades and penned in the caption: 'Happy birthday to the love of my life ❤️.' Social media users jumped to the comment to offer mixed reactions to the singer's latest post. Hurley also shared her response to Billy's birthday wish with an assortment of red heart emojis. Her son Damian, 23, showed his support for their relationship by also a red heart emoji. Elizabeth shares the model with ex Steven Bing. One fan also typed out, 'How you two just started dating. love of your life what a joke,' and another wrote, 'you just met her,' with laughing face emojis. 'How many loves of your life have you had in the last 10 years??' an Instagram user shared, whole one added, 'Im happy for you bro but you have said that about all your past relationships.' But others had differing opinions as another commented, 'Dude looking happier than ever!!! Congratulations Billy.' 'Happy birthday!!! Thank you for making Billy Ray smile again. You two are gorgeous together!' a fan penned, and one wrote, 'I love seeing you so happy! Yes!!' Another also added, 'Happy Birthday to your lovely lady. So glad to see you so happy and smiling Billy Ray.' One fan also typed out, 'How you two just started dating. love of your life what a joke,' and another wrote, 'you just met her,' with laughing face emojis 'How many loves of your life have you had in the last 10 years??' an Instagram user shared, whole one added, 'Im happy for you bro but you have said that about all your past relationships' Hurley also rang in her 60th birthday by uploading an Instagram post of her own and left little to the imagination as she shared a snap while posing nude outdoors. In the caption, the actress typed out: 'Happy birthday to me! This year has already been a wild ride; my 30th year of working with the Estée Lauder Companies, my 30th year as the Global Ambassador of the @esteelaudercompanies Breast Cancer Campaign, the 20th anniversary of @elizabethhurleybeach and… I'm in love♥️♥️♥️. 'Feeling very blessed and grateful for having the best friends & family in the world ♥️ pic taken this afternoon… in my birthday suit xxx.' Her son Damian shared an additional comment by writing, 'Hahahah I LOVE YOU happy birthday mama xxx.' Two months earlier, Billy and Elizabeth unveiled their romance as they cozied up together in a photo while celebrating the Easter holiday. Last month in May, the pair made their red carpet debut in Rome while attending the Orizzonti | Rosso Exhibition Opening Dinner together - with her son Damian also joining the couple. At the time, Billy opted for an all-black ensemble while Hurley turned heads wearing a hot pink gown that clung to her toned figure. The singer had uploaded snippets from their time at the event to his Instagram page and wrote in the caption, 'With my beautiful girlfriend in Rome ❤️.' Also in May, The Royals actress made an appearance at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation 2025 Hot Pink Party in New York City - and gave an update about their relationship during an exclusive interview with She gushed that she is 'very happy in my new relationship' and added, 'Billy's a lovely man and we make each other very happy.' Ahead of her birthday, a source told The Sun that Cyrus 'is besotted with Liz. 'He can't believe this chance he's been given and he's throwing everything at it, including this very expensive birthday trip to the Caribbean. He thinks she's the most beautiful woman in the world and feels incredibly lucky.' The insider added that Billy 'spoils her rotten with gifts but mostly they just enjoy hanging out, listening to records and making each other laugh.' Cyrus has also previously broken his silence on their relationship on Apple Music Country's The Ty Bentli Show in April. The pair's relationship began following his divorce from Firerose - and his third marriage. He had met Elizabeth on set of the 2022 movie Christmas In Paradise and as he was navigating through the split from Firerose, he received a message from Hurley. 'I felt like, "Wow, can life get any harder? Can it get any tougher?" For me, at a certain point it was like, you can't get knocked down any flatter than laying on your back when life is kicking you. And in this moment... a friend reached out.' Billy then tried to recall the contents of the message and explained she had said, 'Hey, it looks like life might be a little bit tough and just wanted you to know I'm in your corner; you've got a friend in your corner.' When he first received the text, the performer revealed that at first he didn't know who the message was from. 'So, I text back, I go, "Who is this?" And it's like, "Elizabeth Hurley." Of all the people to reach out to me in that second that maybe I needed most… this friend who made me laugh.' He later gushed that the actress is 'a great human being' and also 'impressively brilliant.' 'She reminds me a lot of Dolly Parton. She's a very smart businesswoman. If you can laugh together, you can make it through everything.' The star also reflected on how he has also gotten close to his girlfriend's son Damian as well. 'It's great that God brought them into my life when he did. It's just a good thing. It's been a long time since I've been this happy.' Miley Cyrus also broke her silence on her father's new relationship while talking to New York Times' The Interview podcast late last month. 'As I've gotten older, I respect my parents as individuals instead of as parents because, you know, my mom really loved my dad for her whole life,' she stated. 'I took on some of my mom's hurt as my own, because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult. So I owned a lot of her pain as mine.' The former Disney channel star added, 'But now that my mom is so in love with my stepdad, Dom, who I completely adore, and now that I see my dad finding happiness outside of that too. 'I can love them both as individuals instead of as a kind of parental pairing. I'm being an adult about it.' Miley's mom Tish Cyrus was previously married to Billy from 1993 until their divorce was finalized in 2023. That same year, she married Prison Break actor Dominic Purcell. The Flowers hitmaker also squashed rumors of a feud with her family and issued a statement on her Instagram stories which read: 'I rarely comment on rumors, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us. 'She's my best friend. Like a lot of moms, she doesn't know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me - simple, coincidental and uninteresting.' The Flowers hitmaker also squashed rumors of a feud with her family and issued a statement on her Instagram stories which read: 'I rarely comment on rumors, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us' Miley also commented on her relationship with Billy and added, 'My dad and I have had our challenges over the years. Now, in my 30s, family is my priority above all else. I'm at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing.' The songstress concluded with: 'Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.' Billy shares daughter Miley as well as Noah, 25, and Braison, 31, with Tish. He also became stepfather to her other two children from a previous relationship: Brandi, 38, and Trace, 36.

PROF ROBERT TOMBS: British tolerance is being stretched to its limits. Mass immigration is destabilising our country
Last weekend, my cousin's lovely daughter, not long out of medical school, married her sweetheart – a handsome young doctor from an Indian family. The Hindu wedding ceremony was spectacular, colourful and huge fun for everyone. Watching as young English and Indian people danced together, I reflected that the day was a perfect example of multicultural integration as we all wish it to be.

Streaming fans can pick up 4 months of Disney+ for £1.99p/m
Disney+ has just unveiled a shock deal for new subscribers to its streaming platform. For a limited time this June, you can get four months of Disney+ for just £1.99 per month, down from £4.99. 1 This fantastic offer began today (11th June) and will run until 30th June, giving you just a few weeks to take advantage of the deal. At its usual price of £4.99 per month, this promotion saves you a total of £12 over the four months. That's a massive 60% discount – a price drop you don't often see from the House of Mouse's streaming platform. Deals like this are rare for Disney+. The last time it ran a similar deal was back in September, and that was only for 3 months of streaming. However, this promotion comes directly from Disney itself, making it a brilliant chance to save money on one of the most popular streaming services around. It's worth noting that this deal applies to the Disney+ Standard with Ads subscription, which is the service's entry-level plan. With this plan, you can stream in Full HD on two devices at the same time, and content is broken up by adverts. Yep, it's the no-frills version of Disney+ - but it's still an absolute bargain at that reduced monthly cost. For just £1.99 a month, you'll get access to the entire Disney+ catalogue. Parents, I imagine, will particularly appreciate this deal, with the school summer holidays fast approaching. Naturally, the entire catalogue of Disney's classic animated films is available to stream. The latest addition to the platform is the live-action remake of Snow White – perfect if you missed it in cinemas (and are ready to face those CGI dwarves). For Star Wars fans, the critically acclaimed Andor Series 2 is now available to stream in full. Marvel lovers also have plenty to get excited about, with the latest series, Ironheart, set to premiere on 25th June. But for my money, the biggest show on the horizon is Series 4 of The Bear. This intense, heart-stirring and ever-so-slightly-stressful cooking drama is one of the best shows on TV, and the new season drops on 26th June. I've been working up an appetite for this since that Season 3 finale last year. Honestly, it's worth the £1.99-per-month sign-up all by itself, in my opinion. Kitchen dramas, superheroes, guilty-pleasure Mormon wife reality TV - it's all there on Disney+. Curious? The Sun's Tech Editor has found other ways to get free Disney+ membership, one way saving you £60.
