
BPSC Invites Application For 590 Principal, Associate Professors Posts In Engineering, Polytechnic Colleges
The online applications for the post of Principal in polytechnic institutes will begin on August 12 and end on September 9, 2025. For the post of Assistant Professor, candidates will be able to apply online starting August 12, till September 12, 2025.
BPSC Teacher, Principal Recruitment 2025: Number of Vacancies Available
Of the total 590 vacancies, 539 vacancies have been invited for Assistant Professor under various departments such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and more.
Principal (Engineering) vacancies include 25 under Science, Technology and Technical Education department. For the post of Polytechnical principals, 26 vacancies have been invited under various departments including Computer Science and Engineering, Electrics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
BPSC Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Candidate applying must be 30 and 37 years of minimum age to be eligible to apply for the post of Associate Professor and Principal.
The BPSC has not specified any maximum age limit for any of the posts.
Candidates are required to pay the fees based on their category: 100 rupees for General category candidates, Rs. 25 for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST), all female candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar, Handicapped candidates. All other candidates will be required to pay a fee of Rs. 100.
Candidates must fill the application form online and must make sure they meet all the eligibility requirements.

Interactive science gallery to open in Tiuchy's Planetarium soon
TIRUCHY: Visitors to the Anna Science Centre Planetarium in the city can soon get a hands-on experience of how Newton's laws work, watch centrifugal force in action, calculate the age of trees, and more, as the Fun Science Gallery on campus featuring nearly 20 interactive exhibits is set to open within weeks. Developed at a cost of Rs 30 lakh by the state government through the higher education department, the Fun Science Gallery that will replace the Environment Science Gallery on campus is designed to turn abstract concepts into memorable, hands-on experiences, said officials. Exhibit highlights include elliptical path models showing how objects bounce between two focal points, growth ring displays revealing how to read a tree's age and past climate patterns. 'When a child spins a vortex tube and sees the water whirl, that's a lesson they'll never forget,' said an official from the TN Science and Technology Centre. 'This is about turning science from textbook theory into something they can see, touch and experiment with.' The new gallery will operate alongside the Miniature Nuclear Power Gallery, which showcases nuclear energy and related technologies. The planetarium, one of Tiruchy's older public attractions inaugurated in 1999, currently houses the main planetarium, a three-dimensional projection theatre. Currently attracting 500 to 1,000 students each week, the centre expects the interactive exhibits to boost footfall, especially from school students. The entry fee remains at Rs 45 for adults and Rs 25 for children. Officials say the change from a 'static' Environment Science Gallery is part of Tamil Nadu's push to make science education more engaging.

Low-cost tech to restore skull shape after surgery
Lucknow: Neurosurgeons at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences have developed a low-cost technique for reconstructing skull defects following brain surgery. The technique uses polymethylmethacrylate, which is shaped on a single, standard skull model to make implants for patients. It is safe, effective and affordable alternative to expensive custom-made implants, biggest advantage being its extremely low cost, about Rs 170, compared to custom 3D-printed PMMA implants that cost Rs 29,000 and titanium implants costing more than Rs 41,500. The study, published in Asian Journal of Neurosurgery, focuses on problems after Retrosigmoid Suboccipital (RMSO) craniotomy—a surgery done to remove tumours from cerebellopontine angle of the brain. The research team, led by Prof D K Singh and Prof Mohammad Kaif, tested their method on 25 patients over one year. In this technique, PMMA implant is shaped on a regular PVC skull model, sterilised and then fitted into the patient's skull through surgery. Experts from MNNIT join hands with IIIT-Gwalior, PEC to develop high speed antenna for 6G comm
Prayagraj: Experts from three institutions-- MNNIT-Allahabad, IIIT-Gwalior and PEC Chandigarh-- are jointly developing a high-speed antenna for 6G communication that could revolutionise mobile data transfer in the country. The antenna aims to boost current transmission speeds from 1 gigabyte per second (GB/s) to a staggering 1 terabyte per second (TB/s). "Once made, the antenna is expected to eliminate common mobile network issues such as voice call drops and busy networks. It will also enhance the capability of limited bandwidth systems to serve a higher number of users with improved connectivity," said Anand Sharma, Assistant Professor in the electronics and communication engineering (ECE) Department at MNNIT. As development progresses, this breakthrough positions India at the forefront of next-generation telecommunications technology, he added. Sharma, along with Pinku Ranjan from the IIIT-Gwalior and Gaurav Das from Punjab Engineering College (PEC) Chandigarh, is working on the project sanctioned by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Govt of India.
