Maha Women & Child Development Dept emerges 1st in administrative evaluation: Minister
Mumbai, May 1 (UNI) Maharashtra Women & Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare informed on Thursday that her department has emerged as the best ministerial department in the first phase of the 100-day programme implemented under the vision and concept of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to increase trust between the government and the citizens, according to the vision and concept of the government.
She further informed that the department has scored 80 percent marks after evaluating the website functionality, office facilities, grievance redressal system, investment friendliness, service-friendliness for citizens, use of technology through the Indian Quality Council.
All the schemes of the department have been updated using the department's website content management system, and all the information has also been made available under the Right to Information Act, Ms Tatkare added and credited every Anganwadi worker, beneficiary and employee in Maharashtra for the journey of transformational and comprehensive development.

Month-long family pensioners' redressal drive in July
New Delhi, June 11 (UNI) The Government's Department of Pension and Pensioners welfare (DoPPW) will launch a ]special campaign 2.0 for redressal of 2210 grievances of family pensioners and super senior pensioners next month. According to a DoPPW statement here, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions will kick-start the month-long drive. 'A total number of 2210 pension grievances have been taken up and shared with the 51 ministries/departments/organisations for redressal under the campaign,' said the statement. At a preparatory meeting under the chairmanship of Secretary (Pension) on June 11, the guidelines issued for ensuring smooth and seamless execution of the Special Campaign 2.0 were deliberated upon in detail. Secretary (Pension) underscored that the prime objective of the campaign is to provide qualitative redressal of the grievances. Sri Lankan Army commander in India to boost defence ties
New Delhi, June 11 (UNI) Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo arrived here on Wednesday on a four-day official visit aimed at enhancing bilateral military cooperation. This visit is set to enhance bilateral military cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration, particularly in the areas of training and capability enhancement, a Defence Ministry statement said. It underscores the continued efforts of both nations to further strengthen and deepen their longstanding defence partnership. Lt Gen Rodrigo held a series of high-level meetings beginning with an in-depth interaction with Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani, Vice Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army. Both the military leaders discussed wide ranging issues including aspects of bilateral defence cooperation and regional security concerns. Later, he was briefed on Operation Sindoor and India's security perspective. He was also briefed by other senior officers of the Indian Army on matters of mutual interest. Lt Gen Rodrigo met with Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of Air Staff and Rajesh Kumar Singh, Defence Secretary. These meetings provided an opportunity for the exchange of views on broader defence and security issues, focusing on matters of mutual interests. He also planted a tree at the Manekshaw Centre, symbolising time-tested relation of Indian and Sri Lanka Army. On June 12, Lt Gen Rodrigo will visit Jaipur and meet Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command. The General Officer will grace the Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, as the Reviewing Officer on June 14. This visit will mark a poignant return to his alma mater, where he was commissioned in December 1990, with the 87th Course of the IMA-an experience that laid the foundation of his illustrious military career. His presence at the Academy will rekindle memories of his formative years, now brought full circle as he would review a new generation of officers. Adding a personal and emotional dimension to the ceremony, Brigadier RMSP Rathnayake of Sri Lanka Army, will also be in attendance to witness his son, Foreign Officer Cadet RMNL Rathnayake, being commissioned with the current course. This confluence of legacy and leadership underscores the enduring spirit of camaraderie and leadership connect between the two Armies. Lt Gen BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo's visit to India is marked by a series of productive engagements, aimed at furthering the defence relationship between Sri Lanka and India. Mahayuti will unitedly contest local body polls, but open to friendly fights: Fadnavis
Nagpur/Akola: The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance will contest the upcoming local body elections together, barring friendly fights where tie-ups do not materialise, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Wednesday. Fadnavis told reporters in Akola "we have decided to contest the polls as an alliance. There will be friendly fights wherever a tie-up does not work." He added the final decision will rest with state party president Chandrashekhar Bawankule. Talking to TOI in Nagpur, Bawankule said, "We will fight all elections in the state together as a grand alliance. We have given instructions to the party leaders and workers. Our local-rung workers are discussing this with each other. However, if a dispute arises in any place over a seat, there will be a friendly fight there. However, in other places, elections will be fought in alliance, so there is no need to be confused. " In Fadnavis' hometown Nagpur, BJP won 108 seats during the 2017 civic polls. Daya Shankar Tiwari, city president of BJP said "We have set a target to cross the 120 mark in upcoming polls. Whoever is strong in a particular seat should fight. But then again, if there is a difference of opinion then we will go for a friendly fight."
