Ex-Steelers FS Minkah Fitzpatrick already pushing for new deal with Dolphins
On Saturday, Dolphins insider Omar Kelly reported that Fitzpatrick, who's out of guaranteed money on his current contract, switched agents to Drew Rosenhaus — in hopes of getting a new deal.
Kelly also noted that Rosenhaus represents Dolphins DT Zach Sieler, who's also looking for a reworked contract in the near future.
Fitzpatrick is due $15.5 million this season and $17.7 million in 2026 — but it remains to be seen if the Dolphins will extend their former first-round draft pick or allow him to leave Miami.
The Steelers landed two talented playmakers in exchange for Fitzpatrick — All-Pro CB Jalen Ramsey and Pro Bowl TE Jonnu Smith, both versatile and expected to play major roles for Pittsburgh this upcoming season.

Padres emerge as potential team to land Marlins' reliever
As trade rumors continue to heat up with the MLB trade deadline coming up on Thursday, a large majority of teams have filled headlines this week. The San Diego Padres are one team that has been popular in rumors, and multiple top players on the ball club's roster have heard their names being thrown around in trade talks. He's appeared in 45 games for the Marlins this season and has a 2-5 record, 1.83 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, three saves, and has struck out 35 batters in 44.1 innings pitched. Bender is a breaking ball pitcher with an arsenal that includes sweepers, sinkers, and sliders. "The San Diego Padres, among other clubs" have shown interest in Bender, Ken Rosenthal mentioned. With multiple players emerging in the Padres' trade talks, it would be surprising if San Diego's president of baseball operations, A.J. Preller, doesn't get a trade made before Thursday's deadline. San Diego is considered to be a World Series contender this season. With a 58-49 record entering Tuesday, the Padres currently hold the last Wild Card spot in the National League and are second, behind the Los Angeles Dodgers, in the NL West.

Cardinals' Andre Pallante takes a no-hit bid into the 6th inning vs. Marlins
ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Andre Pallante didn't change his approach, even though he knew what was brewing as the innings rolled by without a hit by the Miami Marlins on Monday night. 'Just trying to execute the next pitch I'm throwing and trying to be better at doing my process in between innings,' Pallante said. 'You know, like when I come inside, cool down a little bit, hydrate, read my report, make sure I'm (ready) for the next competitor I'm facing.' Graham Pauley broke up Pallante's no-hit bid with a leadoff single in the sixth, and that was the only hit the 26-year-old allowed in seven innings as the Cardinals beat the Marlins 7-1. Pallante (6-7) retired the first 10 batters before walking Jesús Sánchez in the fourth. Pallante struck out four, walked one and threw 49 of his 81 pitches for strikes. Sánchez and Pauley were the only Marlins to reach base against him. 'I know, like their tendencies, you know, you have the scouting reports, you know what they like to do,' Pallante said. 'I just knew that if I commit and execute the pitch I'm throwing, I'll get good results.' The five-plus innings matched Pallante's longest hitless start to a game, the other coming against Cleveland on Sept. 22, 2024. It was the longest hitless start by a Cardinals starter since Erick Fedde went six innings at Pittsburgh on April 9. 'He did a really nice job with just quick outs,' Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said. 'He was very efficient. Also got some very defensive swings, a lot of soft contact. To be able to go seven, I feel like he navigated that lineup extremely well.'
