‘I get choked up thinking about it': Calgarian wins $1M on Lotto 6-49
Calgarian Tom Dimitroff says his wife thought he was lying when he told her they won $1 million on Lotto 6-49. Dimitroff says he was 'pretty pleased' when he checked his numbers online and realized he'd won. 'My wife told me she thought I was full of s**t until I showed her the ticket,' he said. Dimitroff says he already knows what to do with his windfall. 'I have a granddaughter with special needs,' he said. 'I'm going to be able to pay for some support for her and set her up with housing.' 'It's wonderful to tell my family that I can take care of them,' he continued. 'I get choked up thinking about it.' Dimitroff purchased his winning Lotto 6-49 ticket at the Petro Canada on Seton Crescent S.E. He won his prize on the July 12 Gold Ball draw with selection 21035885-01, a white ball.
