Perth Now3 days ago
An influence couple who shared their travel adventures online have left fans devastated after being killed in a horror mountain crash.
Stacey Tourout and Matthew Yeomans were driving across rough terrain near Trout Lake in British Columbia, Canada, when authorities believe they lost control of their van.
In a haunting swansong, the couple had just days earlier shared a video on their Toyota World Runners YouTube channel — which boasts 200,00 subscribers — of them putting Toyota trucks through the 'ultimate test' in tough terrain.
Titled Vancouver Island|The Off-Road Version, the hour-long video also shows them camping surrounded by stunning Canadian scenery.
Kaslo Search And Rescue manager Mark Jennings-Bates said rescuers were called to an off-road motor vehicle incident about 7.30pm on August 7. The couple died after losing control of their van in mountains. Credit: Facebook
'So it was on a forestry road, somewhere in the mountains, and quite a long ways north in the valley up towards the village of Trout Lake,' he said.
'Our teams were able to get to them efficiently. It's a long journey but they got there efficiently. So that was very, very helpful.
'And, of course, that means that the helicopter pilot could also fly straight to the destination with confidence that he was going to find them.'
Mr Jennings-Bates said that one of the occupant of the van was dead when rescuers arrived, while the other died in hospital.

'With unimaginable heartache, the families of Matthew Peter Yeomans and Stacey Tourout would like to advise that we lost them both tragically succumbing to injuries in an offroad accident on Aug 7, 2025 in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia that they loved so much,' she wrote.
'Please keep us and them in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this devastating end to an amazing Love Story.
'They are together forever as we knew they would always be.'

'I'm in absolute shock hearing that these two beautiful souls are no longer with us,' one said.
'My condolences to not only their family and friends but also viewers that appreciated them, their projects and their adventures.'
Another commented: 'We wished this episode would have lasted forever, as it meant we'd never have to truly say goodbye.
'We didn't get the chance to meet you, but you gave more inspiration than you knew.
'Hope you're on an amazing trail leading to an even better campsite. Rest easy to the coolest people we never met.' Their YouTube channel Toyota World Runners boasted 200,000 subscribers. Credit: YouTube

Nathan Hill: Burlington Police Chief's toddler brutally mauled to death by former drug sniffing dog K-9 Draco

WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT A police officer has been left devastated after his toddler was brutally mauled to death by a former police dog. The three-year-old was the daughter of Nathan Hill, the police chief of a small city called Burlington which sits along the Colorado-Kansas border. His family were housing K-9 Draco, a German Shepard who formerly worked as a drug sniffing dog before he was donated to the Burlington Police Department after having been recently taken out of service. On Monday, K-9 Draco brutally attacked Officer Hill's daughter while he was not at home. Paramedics arrived at the tragic scene within minutes of an emergency call, and found the toddler alongside her devastated mother. The dog was no longer attacking the girl, and had been secured in a kennel, Fox12 Oregon reported. Despite emergency services arriving so quickly, the girl was unable to be saved and was tragically pronounced dead at the local hospital. Draco was taken to the pound and put down. He had previously worked with the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office, but was taken out of service because the department ended its K-9 program. Authorities said the dog was not trained in bite work. In a statement, the Burlington Police Department said an investigation is underway, but that the attack was a 'tragic accident' and was not a 'criminal matter'. 'We want to assure the community that there is no ongoing threat to public safety,' the statement said. 'We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident that occured within the city limits of Burlington CO. Our hearts go out to Chief Nate Hill, his wife and family for the loss of their little girl, who was victim of a dog attack. 'The City of Burlington staff is a family, and our hearts are hurting for the family and those affected by this unfortunate event. 'We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Kit Carson County Sheriff's Office, Burlington Police Department, first responders and hospital staff for their swift and professional response. Their dedication and hard work in the face of adversity are truly commendable. 'The situation is under control, and we are committed to providing any necessary support to those impacted.' Tributes are flowing for the girl and her grieving family. 'I'm so shocked and saddened by this tragedy. Thoughts and prayers for her family and all those who responded,' one Facebook user wrote 'My heart aches for this family. I can not even begin to imagine the pain.. We are praying. And I hope God gives you the strength to get through this,' another wrote.

Joseph Ross: Milwaukee man spiked co-worker's coca-cola with superglue

A Milwaukee man has pleaded guilty to putting superglue in his female coworker's soft drinks. Joseph Ross had been working at the Wisconsin State Fair Park exhibition centre. During an unrelated patrol, police officers were approached by a woman who requested to speak with them alone. She told them that she suspected the drinks she left on her desk had been contaminated by some kind of chemical substance. The woman said there was a strong chemical smell and taste, which was a giveaway, and after drinking some of the beverage, she was sick. To get answers, the woman set up her own surveillance system, hiding a camera below her computer monitor to catch the culprit. Sure enough, footage was captured of Ross putting a 'foreign substance' in her soft drink, Fox6 Milwaukee reported. The complaint said that Ross was in possession of a small bottle/tube dispenser, and that the video showed him holding it above the canned drink. Police interviewed Ross on the same day the woman made the complaint to them. Ross then admitted to placing a 'supplement' into her drink. Investigators searched his desk and found latex gloves wrapped up in a bundle. One glove contained a blue plastic cap, and the other contained Gorilla brand superglue. Ross was then arrested. He was charged with 'placing a foreign object in edibles' and pleaded guilty on Tuesday August 12. He faces a fine of up to $15,000 and a maximum prison sentence of three years and six months. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 9. Social media users were outraged by Ross' actions. 'Why would anyone think this is funny? It's not it is so disturbing,' one Facebook user wrote. 'Who, what, when, where and WHY?? WHY did he do this?' another commented. Others said they will now think twice about leaving their drinks unattended at work. 'Oh no!!! That makes me think twice now about leaving my drinks in the refrigerator that are not new or unsealed from being new at work because you never know,' one user wrote.
